In the dark forest

Having been exiled into the dark forest with nothing but tattered clothes worse than that of a beggar, xu nie was indeed having it hard growing up as a child she had heard various stories about the dark forest, she had no hopes of teaming up with anyone as even the mercenaries had stop taking missions into the dark forest for more than a decade, even if the court would only exile people from the city and didn't banish people to the dark forest anymore, the rumors going around was that the dark forest, originally a cursed land, it was said that asides being a cursed land, someone did something atrocious to anger the forests spirit which was why it became so dangerous. there were a lot of similar stories about the dark forest, however no one knew the real reason for the chaos in the forest, and people would only discuss it when it was mentioned.

However, that wasn't what was on xu nie's mind now, she had been walking for two days straight, and she was terribly hungry, however although she had walked for so long she hadn't come across any obstacle not even a plant or animal demon, although this should have put her mind at ease, she wasn't, as everything was so calm she kept wondering if she had unknowitngly walked into the territory of a high level demon.

It was getting dark and as she had little less strength to keep walking, she decided to find a tree with a good abode to lean on for the night, she walked on further as it was nppow dark she couldn't evaluate her surroundings well, but she could tell that the trees there were quite sturdy, and they gave a rather refreshing feeling, so she sat close to one of the trees and leaned on it not long after she fell asleep.

Half awake she felt comfortable, she remembered having leaned on the tree to sleep, but what was this comfort, hit by the sudden realization, she blinked open her eyes, and sat up abruptly, she was surprised at her surroundings there were a lot of things she couldn't recognize where she was but she was certain this wasn't where she slept the previous night judging from the things here which were mostly held up by strange looking wooden branches, she knew they couldn't be found from where she came from, and before she could think any further she noticed strangely looking little heads popping out from small looking holes which she guessed where windows, just as she was about saying a word they ran away, and as abruptly as they left, a few of them came back but through a much larger taller hole she hadn't noticed previously, it seemed to use shrubs as a curtain, but as they entered they made sure to maintain a two meter distance from her, they were all green and had large eyes with green eyeballs looking at her with curiosity, she was just as curious, not only her but the little baby in her womb was also dying with curiosity as she read her mother's thoughts, she tried standing to move close to them but they moved back, she raised her hands to pat what was supposedly their heads but they slanted it, finally just when she was getting bored and went back to sit, the little girl that had been at the very back of their lot and was barely noticeable, came up to her and tilted her head.

looking at the little one before her which she suspected was a girl, she was at a loss of words, they were just so adorable, but they kept running from her, just as she lifted her hand to pat her little head for a last try, she noticed the little green girl was a little hesitant , she raised her eyebrow in thought in the end, the little green girl didn't avoid her pat and even seemed to be enjoying it.

she was about to try speaking to her when the shrubs curtain was raised.
