Side Story: Sneaky V

V clenched her hands, flexing her fingers as she squeezed at her knees, she wasn't nervous but she could feel herself tensing, so she breathed slowly and deeply to settle herself.

David always recommended triangle breathing. Breathe in for three seconds, hold for three seconds, then exhale for three seconds.

Then you repeat the process, something about it helping steady heart rate. Since it gave her something to focus on to help her relax.

Her first ever big mission, was to sneak into a pretty large Police Department, and take her time in sleuthing around it. Finding any and all evidence she good of each cop, if they were good, bad, or neutral.

It would be a task that could go on for more than just a day or two, with so much she would need to explore, and how she would need to learn routes, and times to be able to infiltrate each office.

Thankfully David made sure she would be taken care of, by having an inside contact that could help her if she needs it.

Officer Sanchez, a good cop who only bent the rules when he needed to help someone who deserved it. Not willing to take bribes or bend the rules for the bad guy made sure he never got promoted and stayed a normal cop.

She was also now fitted with some high-grade hacking capabilities, with an Armstrong tech shard slotted in that had preloaded Daemons. The more useful ones were short circuits, which allowed her to take people down with a non-lethal shock and would make it seem like a simple case of neural shock.

Even with that, however, she would need to be careful. One or two would be fine, any more would be pushing the limits as it would start raising questions as to why people are getting shocked.

She also had Ping, which would locate all access points, cameras, people, and anything else that was technology and connected to the systems, and thanks to Sanchez, she already had someplace with an exposed plug-in point where she could upload the daemon and let it get to work.

In return for it being extremely thorough, and even being able to keep everything marked on her hug at all times, it would take time to mark everything correctly. The longer it stayed active, the more benefits it would bring.

Such as if it ran for a few hours, she would eventually be able to track past movements through the simulated AR lens she now had in her eye.

The second extremely useful tool given to her for this is something she's already been training within the Virtual Reality course she had access to.

The last thing she had been given, was an experimental piece of tech called 'Ghost'. Which allowed her to become invisible, its energy consumption was low and it would automatically recharge with time.

Standing still and not moving to make it drain incredibly slowly, almost not at all. Running would drain it quickly, but it would give her a chance to cross high-traffic areas without being caught.

Moving slowly, crouching, or standing would drain it slowly but would allow her to cross quite a distance as long as she was smart.

A secondary ability of the Ghost was that with it activated she couldn't be detected by security systems, no matter how advanced.

She was told not to kill, in case it was absolutely necessary.

But, David understood anything could happen, so he gave her three things.

Blades, unlike the mantis blades, were sturdy and could cut through other metals with ease. Could even be fired from the arm and retrieved if she needed a ranged option.

Quiet, but incredibly deadly. And, unsure exactly how he did it.

She would never run out of blades, even if it took time for one to come back.

The second was a monowire, much like Lucy's but neon green in color, a highly advanced monowire that acted as a third arm, she could even use it to reach out and grab things. Like a spider's web almost.

The third and final 'gift' was a vial of some sort of reactive liquid, that was alive or something.

If she needed to kill someone, and she needed to get rid of the body, all she would need to do was pour the liquid over it, and the liquid would 'eat' it. Then return to the bottle once it was finished.

The perfect tool to get away with murder, it wouldn't leave behind any blood or DNA of the death. David said something about it being an 'accidental' discovery when he was making the plastic eater he was talking about.

With all these tools, skills, and training she had. She would be fine, she would just need to play smart and slow, there was no rush. The job had months before it needed to be turned in.

Whereas she didn't want to spend that long here, she was ready to.

Taking a final deep breath, then slowly releasing it she steeled herself before she stood having been sitting on a park in the park adjacent to the police department.

Less a park and more so just a lot of homeless taking shelter in a large clearing.

Making her way down the street and cutting into the alley she continued to follow the alley until she came to a transformer attached to the police building. The camera overwatching it was down, just like Sanchez said it would be.

Able to get the transformer box open easily with a quick hack releasing the magnetic lock she reached forward, not caring about the electricity that could possibly hurt her, since she was wearing synthetic gorilla arms by Armstrong, she didn't need to worry about hurting herself.

With no need for gloves, since she wouldn't leave fingerprints behind anyway, she got ahold of one of the main switches before very, very gently pulling it down until she heard the sounds of the transformer shutting down.

Once she did that she closed the door and let the magnetic locks click back into place before she quickly made her way down further into the alley.

The only reason she wanted to shut the power off, even if for only a few moments was because each window had a sensor that showed it was open.

Each cop had things in their uniform or body that tracked their position in the precinct, while each criminal or guest was tagged with one using a band or handcuffs.

If the person was smart, and watching the sensors, but saw no one around that window, it could raise an alarm.

Going to the window she wanted, one leading into the garage she checked the inside, making sure no one was around before she opened it. It started to rain when she got in and closed the window, having seen a few drops hit it while it was open.

Taking a moment to breathe she began to look around the garage. There were people at the far end of it, getting ready to leave on a patrol but the size of the garage, and the fact she was behind one of the SUVs made it easier for her to get in quickly without being noticed.

Pulling out a small bag, she quickly snuck between each car before getting near the two patrol cars about to leave, using her monowire to attach small tracking pins under their car while the officers were talking.

One piece of information she wanted to get was car routes, where they would stop for lunch, and the places they would normally patrol. Then compare it to the actual patrol route they had to follow from the system, using that she could see if any cops were making 'additional' stops that didn't make sense.

She continued to place tags on each vehicle where it couldn't be seen.

Her first target would be to get to the security room as soon as possible, so she could get the things she needed for it to be safer for her set up quickly.

Getting to the door that lead from the garage she slowly and quietly opened it, activating her Ghost just long enough to make sure no one was on the other side of the door before she snuck in, closing it softly behind her she began to move.

The easiest way to find a hub of security was to find a security measure and follow where its data lead and that's what she did.

Finding what looked to be a secured armory near the garage with a secured keypad.

Pressing herself up against the wall and staying still she waited, her eyes changing to a soft blue color as she switched to an Augmented Reality lens and began to look around, making sure there were no cameras or things that would see or detect her here before she deactivated her ghost.

Letting it recharge before putting it back up and waiting.
