"I didn't know we had a guest," Ginny's father remarked, his gaze shifting between the two of them from across the table.
Persephone quickly straightened, clearing her throat before offering a polite smile. "Good morning, Mr. Green. I'm very sorry for the intrusion."
"I invited her last night, Papà," Ginny interjected a little too quickly, as if trying to shield her from any scrutiny.
Under the table, she felt her lover's warm hand settled gently on her thigh as she nervously intertwined them together.
He arched his brow. "Which you didn't tell me," he noted calmly before turning back to her. "I assume you're Persephone, correct?"
She blinked, momentarily caught off guard. He knew her name? Ginny must have spoken about her before. The thought made her smile inwardly.
