Chapter 31. Bringing Fear to the Enemy, Hope to the Allies

I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 31. Bringing Fear to the Enemy, Hope to the Allies

---

This is his territory, behind him are his people, and fighting alongside him are his allies.

So, the outcome is quite simple.

Even if he becomes a demon feared by others once again, he will exterminate the enemies and protect his people!

As Vlad III advanced, the earth began to tremble, as if a giant beast was awakening from its slumber.

The dragon tooth warriors brandished their bone knives and charged at Vlad III. They could feel the terrifying power emanating from him, but they had no concept of fear; their only reason for existence was to crush their enemies.

"Pitiful enemies, your fate was sealed the moment you decided to trample on my land," Vlad III raised his hand and gently clenched it.

"Boom----"

Countless iron stakes pierced through the dragon tooth warriors, lifting them into the air.

"Your bodies will become my flags. Feel the fear I bring."

Without even looking at them, Vlad III continued towards the aerial courtyard.

"Iron stakes, piercing… it really is Vlad III," Semiramis, sitting in the aerial courtyard, nodded and telepathically informed Karna and Achilles, "It's your turn now."

"Understood," Karna, who had been waiting, jumped down from the aerial courtyard.

"Finally, I can cause some real havoc," Achilles grinned, "Come on, chariot!"

"Huh?" Vlad III looked up, a smile curling at his lips, "Has it finally come?"

Achilles was the first to land. His chariot, driven by the immortal horses gifted by the sea god, tore through the battlefield like a meat grinder, crushing all the homunculi and golems that tried to block him.

But even so, the homunculi and golems continued to charge at him.

"Don't be in my way, you fodder!"

For Achilles, or rather for most Greek heroes, facing such a situation meant only one choice.

"Disappear!"

Achilles forcefully swung the reins, and the immortal horses roared, smashing anything that dared to obstruct them.

"Come on, Black's Servants! Let's see if you can make me stop!" Achilles laughed heartily as he ravaged the battlefield.

"Indeed strong," Vlad III raised his hand towards Achilles, "Then I shall challenge you."

"Your opponent is me."

A fireball descended from the sky and landed in front of Vlad III. Bathed in the scorching flames was Karna, who, like a deity, casually waved his divine spear to clear the surrounding iron stakes.

"Red Lancer?" Vlad III lowered his hand.

"Precisely," Karna replied with dignity, "For certain reasons, I must defeat you. Don't blame me."

"No, this is a battle of mutual slaughter, and…" Vlad III laughed coldly, "I will not spare any enemy who invades my territory."

At the moment his words fell, sharp iron stakes emerged from beneath Karna's feet, aiming for his head.

"Noble Phantasm?" Karna raised an eyebrow, smashing the iron stakes with his spear, "But the number is quite extraordinary, isn't it?"

Behind Vlad III, countless skeletal flags made of dragon tooth warriors stood. Even Karna felt a chill run down his spine.

A massive vortex of magical energy gathered around Vlad III. Karna narrowed his eyes; he knew Vlad III was about to make his move.

"It's time for execution," Vlad III lifted his chin, "Let your bodies rot in the wilderness with these hideous dragon tooth warriors."

The earth rumbled, and countless iron stakes rained down on Karna from all directions.

Each iron stake wasn't particularly fast or destructive, but the sheer number made up for it. Facing a wave of iron stakes, even Karna would not choose to confront them head-on.

With the ground constantly under threat, Karna…

Leaped into the air, his magic gathering at his feet propelling him upwards.

"This is my territory; even the air is under my control," Vlad III waved his hand, adjusting the direction of the iron stakes to target Karna in mid-air.

Karna raised an eyebrow, adjusting his position in mid-air and using magic to propel himself forward.

"Trying to escape?" Vlad III raised his hand, and more iron stakes emerged from the ground, shooting towards Karna in the sky.

"No."

Karna charged straight at Vlad III like a cannonball, his divine spear aimed directly at Vlad III's forehead.

As a top-tier Servant, maintaining his armor and divine spear was immensely taxing. He couldn't outlast Vlad III in a battle of attrition, so he had to be a bit reckless.

"I see," Vlad III remained calm despite the oppressive divine spear, "Red Lancer, your judgment is accurate, but you underestimate me."

Countless iron stakes surged forth like a torrent, forming a shield in front of Vlad III.

"Clang----"

The divine spear of destruction pierced through the iron stake shield, coming to a halt in front of Vlad III.

"Pierce through."

Vlad III raised his hand and clenched it.

The iron stakes in the sky rained down on Karna like cannonballs, while more iron stakes emerged from the ground and stabbed into Karna.

"I see, these iron stakes can serve as both offensive tools and defensive shields. With this quantity, it's truly a troublesome existence," Karna analyzed calmly.

He had defensive capabilities comparable to Achilles' invincible armor, and even Vlad III's iron stakes were deflected.

"Good armor," Vlad III nodded in praise, raising his long spear and aiming at Karna's heart, "But can it block from this distance?"

Of course, it couldn't…

Karna sighed. If possible, he would prefer to conserve his magical energy, but now he had to let loose.

"Hm?" Vlad III raised an eyebrow and leaped back.

"Boom----"

Almost instantly, scorching flames engulfed Karna, turning Vlad III's iron stakes into molten iron. Karna stood expressionless amidst the flames, resembling a war god.

"Indeed, you are not an ordinary Servant," Vlad III's tone grew colder. Although he had heard of Karna from Caules, seeing it firsthand was still somewhat surprising.

"Ready to be subdued?" Karna waved his spear, the flames surrounding him quickly dissipating.

"How could that be? I am a king, behind me are my people, beside me are my allies. If I were to be subdued, who would protect them?" Vlad III raised his hand again, and the terrifying ocean of iron stakes surged once more, "And who exactly should be subdued?"
