I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 41. Are You Idiots or What?
---
"That is..."
The three combatants simultaneously halted their actions.
"Is that the Caster's Noble Phantasm?" Vlad III lifted the corner of his mouth. "It looks like this Holy Grail War is ours to win."
Karna pursed his lips.
For him, seeing the battle tilt overwhelmingly to one side was not a new experience.
But Vlad III soon could no longer smile, because the giant was holding the Greater Holy Grail. After the giant threw the Greater Holy Grail into the hanging garden, Vlad's expression had already twisted in anguish.
"It seems the scales are starting to tip in our favor," Karna took the opportunity while Vlad III and Siegfreid stopped their attacks to begin healing his wounds.
"King, I'll handle here," Siegfried raised his large sword.
"Okay, please!" Vlad III gritted his teeth and turned to run towards the hanging garden. "Don't die!"
"Don't even think about it!" Karna's eyes narrowed as he charged towards Vlad III's back, aiming his Brahmastra at Vlad's heart.
"Clang----"
The Brahmastra was once again deflected by the Dragon Slayer Sword. Siegfreid stood calmly in front of Karna.
"Your opponent is me."
"Looks like that's the case," Karna nodded.
"What is going on! Why did Caster betray us! Especially when we were about to win!"
Vlad III ran frantically towards the hanging garden.
The Greater Holy Grail was the Black Faction's final trump card to ensure victory. As long as they had the Holy Grail, they could never lose. But their impregnable fortress was breached, and it was even by the most unlikely traitor, Avicebron! Even the Greater Holy Grail was stolen!
"The Romanian national hero, even you can't break into this hanging garden," Semiramis, lounging with her legs crossed, rested her chin in her hand and leisurely admired Vlad III on the screen. "You've lost. In terms of guts, my Master is better."
Even she was astonished by Kotomine Shirou's maneuver. He had single-handedly infiltrated the Black Faction's fortress and directly persuaded Caster Avicebron. She had originally planned to have Karna use his Noble Phantasm to blow up the fortress, but Kotomine Shirou managed to make Caster throw out the Holy Grail.
Now, unless there were flying Servants, the Black Faction had no way to infiltrate the hanging garden. Even if they could fly, her Twelve EX Magic Cannon and the Ten and One Black Coffin Countermeasures were not to be underestimated.
"What should we do, Master? Should we take the Holy Grail and run, or..." Semiramis's eyes flashed with cold light. "Should we deal with the Black Faction here as well?"
"What do you think?" Kotomine Shirou, moving slowly on the battlefield, countered.
"To truly complete the Greater Holy Grail, we need more Servants. The number of fallen Servants is still too few. Even if we get the Holy Grail, it won't change our disadvantage," Semiramis snapped her fingers. "Now that the Black Faction fortress is breached and the Holy Grail stolen, those Masters are probably in chaos. And there's a particularly big troublemaker on their heads. There's no better time than now. Besides—"
Semiramis confidently raised her chin. "No one can break through my defenses to reach this hanging garden."
"Then let's do as you say. Let's end this Holy Grail War today!" Kotomine Shirou glanced at the dead Homunculus at his feet, sighed softly, and bent down to close its eyes.
"Master, you really are a sentimental person," Semiramis snapped her fingers and controlled the hanging garden to fly towards the giant.
In the ruins.
"Wu wu wu!" Frankenstein dropped the war hammer in his hand, easily lifting a piece of what seemed to be ceiling debris with her slender hands as if lifting a foam board.
"Boom----"
Frankenstein threw the ceiling debris aside and began to dig through the rubble with force.
"Uh... We're here to help."
A somewhat timid but unwavering voice came from in front of Frankenstein.
"Hmm?" Frankenstein tilted her head. She remembered the person in front of her was that already dead Homunculus, and the ones behind him seemed to be the combat Homunculi.
"I'm not an enemy. My name is Sieg. Someone important to me should also be buried underneath," Sieg bent down next to Frankenstein and began to dig through the rubble.
The Homunculi who came with Sieg also silently began clearing the surrounding debris.
"Hmm," Frankenstein glanced at Sieg's hands, which were already bleeding after only a few moments of work. With a sigh-like roar, she dug through the rubble with greater effort.
With the Homunculi's help, Frankenstein quickly dug out the location of the Black Faction's Master through the contract.
"Ah~ You finally arrived," Astolfo still had his usual silly smile on his face, but his condition was far from good.
A steel rod pierced through his abdomen, with blood dripping down the rod onto the ground. Yet he remained standing firmly, supporting the ceiling with his arms.
Beside him were the unconscious Celenike and the stunned Gordes. This was probably why he refused to dematerialize even though he was severely injured.
"Cough cough cough, you finally made it," Caules crawled out from a nearby hole, coughing. "Berserker, help clear the stones here."
"Wu!" Frankenstein grabbed the war hammer and smashed the spot Kaules pointed out.
Amidst the smoke, four mechanical arms emerged, and the dust-covered Fiore helped Darnic out.
"Everyone is safe. That's a relief," Astolfo, looking the least unaffected, cheerfully flipped the ceiling off. As the steel rod left his body, it sprayed a burst of blood.
"Rider, are you really okay?" Caules's mouth fell open.
"Yeah, I'll be fine after a rest," Astolfo sat down on the ground. "Now that I'm a Servant, these injuries will heal quickly."
"Everything is over," Darnic pushed Fiore away and sat down in the rubble, looking as if he had lost his soul.
Astolfo tilted his head, thought for a moment, and then moved to sit next to Darnic, patting his shoulder.
Gordes carefully avoided others' gazes and stood in front of Sieg.
"No need to hide. Archer already told me you've been hiding that Homunculus," Fiore said, somewhat exasperated by Gordes's actions. "With Caster's betrayal, there's no need to hide anymore."
"Ahem, I just... wanted to get up and move around," Gordes awkwardly coughed and gave a thumbs-up to the other Homunculi. "Well done."
"Boom----"
Light illuminated Gordes's radiant smile as a magical cannon from the sky ruthlessly struck down.
Karna's eyes narrowed sharply as he pushed Gordes aside, but the beam's area of effect was too broad, encompassing all the Black Faction's Masters.
We're doomed!
"I want to say!"
Cyd leisurely walked up to the beam, raising his left hand.
"Although it's a ceasefire period now, this is still a battlefield."
In an instant, the beam was divided into dozens of smaller beams, clearing the surrounding rubble.
"Are you idiots or what?"
