Outside

If there was one thing that could be an inconvenience to Mallory then it would be riding a carriage.

When Mallory was being transported to Visa City, her body was very uncomfortable and she was not feeling well during the carriage ride.

The carriages were not built to endure shocks so most of the journey was unpleasant and the added bad experience being transported as a slave was what made her not wish to ride one and be reminded of those experiences.

When coming up with an alternative, Mallory had requested something to be built by Almura.

As the carriage which had Almura, Swaine and Franco inside, Mallory walked by their side then picked up her pace to run by the carriage until it came to a stop. "This should be far enough out of the way."

The back curtains of the carriage was opened up which had revealed a two wheeled metallic structure which was lowered to the ground.

It was a bike which Mallory had requested to be built by Almura, Mallory aided her in drawing the sketches and had given some input but most of the main work had been done by Almura.

There were some modifications to adjust the pedalling speed and its overall toughness so that it could be used by her without accidentally breaking it.

As Mallory sat on the seat, she could feel the comfort of the leather which had come from a monster drop. "This is perfect! And now I just need to make a couple of adjustments."

She was very excited as she was attaching some smaller things to the handle.

One in particular was a tool which looked like it was a compass while others were a magic stone device and a bicycle bell.

Ring, ring!

After testing the bell, Mallory touched the magic stone device and it suddenly activated then shone a faint light in front of her then it was turned off once she had pressed it again. "Now finally this one."

The strange compass was changing the pointers direction several times as if it was picking up on something strange. "Now that I this about it.l this thing has been going crazy since I got closer to the outside of the city. This may need to be checked out first. You guys go ahead and I will catch up."

The carriage went towards the intended destination and had split up for Mallory temporarily while she had begun to pick up her pace as she rode her bike. "The performance isn't half bad and the tires are holding up well to the speed and the different types of places I am riding over."

It was built to handle off road use too so she found her way closer to the wall much easier than she had expected.

All she had to do was focus on one location where the compass was pointing among the locations it was changing to then he would follow it until the compass had been mostly attracted to that place.

The closer that she was, the more accurate it was and the better it would hone in on the nearby location.

She stayed alert due to there being many dangers lurking around and there always being attacks on the walls by monsters.

Just as Mallory had seen the compass hone in on the direction, a group of small green and ugly monsters were waving around small sticks as they charged towards her. "It is now your turn Valis."

Valis which had been on her back had been pulled out and was then pointed towards the goblins.

The movements were so quick that the goblins only witnessed the faint afterimages of the spear as it pierced through and slashed up their bodies.

Several goblins had died just in a single moment without putting up a single bit of resistance which showed the huge difference between Mallory and them.

There were originally seven of them but five had been turned into a dark coloured mist as their bodies had dissipated.

At least that was how it was supposed to be..

A strange scene had taken place as the dark energy of one of them had become lighter in colour before it had dissipated.

It was like the darkness had been purified from that single monster from a single attack.

All that remained where their bodies were was a magic stone and a single goblin finger nail that had dropped to the ground.

If the goblins had not been so spaced out then it was very likely that all of them would have died in an instant.

After killing many of them, Mallory had placed Valis back on her back for a moment so she could perform her next action without being hindered.

Mallory activated the breaks as she tightened her grasp onto the bike and leaned back to avoid being thrown forward by the sudden break.

The bike slowed down quickly and came to a halt as it created a slight trail in the ground it had passed over.

Mallory kicked a certain part of the bike lightly which had helped in the bike standing up on its own while she had climbed off it and walked towards the remaining goblins. "Why are you so close to the city?"

"Kik kik kaa!"

"Kiyaa!"

Mallory saw the negative type of aura that surrounded them and the hostility they had towards her. "My my.. seeing a monster up close like this is truly interesting. My precious Excelia come here!"

The goblins had shown slight hesitation even though they held a grudge against her and were the enemies of the other living life forms.

"Kik!"

Seeing that they did not move, Mallory moved first and cleared the distance in a single moment.

She passed by them creating a blur as Valis had been thrust towards them.

once she had become clear again in the view of others, Mallory was behind where they stood and put Valis back on her back while yawning. "No challenge at all.. but what is that?"

The strange scene had happened again as the dark mist of a goblins body had become lighter just as the body had exploded into a mist.

Mallory pondered then thought of Valis which she had created. "Is this an element of luck that has been gained from the lucky monster drops? Is it something like a lucky strike or critical strike kind of feature that only activates against monsters and has a certain chance to activate?

I need to figure out how this works.. perhaps this only works on monsters but perhaps it may work on other things too. Not knowing these things will only put me in danger later if I do not know the specifics. Maybe this is the influence of my blood or perhaps due to the blood of my father from when I had killed him with Valis. Either of those two could have aided in helping to add on this effect. Or was it due to the higher grade of magic stone?'
