There had already been enough information gathered to rightfully interrogate and capture someone but Mallory had chosen to leave them alone.
Her actions suggested that she was just guessing some things and was just enquiring about the situation within the village.
The village head was not aware of how far her suspicions had grown towards him and other certain individuals but it was enough for him and others to feel nervous.
When they were nervous, they would have the need to make contact with those they were working for or with and they needed the right moment to do so.
The village head had been stuck to the side of Mallory so he could not do so and the bonfire ceremony during the night was the best time to slip away and meet up once everyone was preoccupied by the festivities.
Her theory was actually very simple after going through the information that had been collected and it was not that difficult to understand the detailed behind the plot.
During the time that the family had risen up and started amassing the land after purchasing it from others, the daughter of that family had fallen ill and would remain inside.
Nobody had seen her since her disappearance and then people started having problems with their land.
One child of the family had been studying magic away from the village and was gifted with plant based magic so that aided in the growth of the crops upon returning to their family.
The family had a lot of reserves of various resources even after selling or trading to keep their land so they began their families growth.
Years had passed ever since and they had become a big part of the village, the sister most likely played the role of the villain while the other played the role of the hero.
Not every villager was so willing to accept help or would sell their land so their lands only became worse as time passed.
The father of those children was someone that had been exiled by their noble family but still had enough to rebuild and had come to the village around twenty years ago.
It was a little before then that the village head was placed in his position so it was likely that the two things were connected and it made a lot of sense to Mallory.
From what Swaine and Franco had heard from their conversation, the village head was not fully aware of what was happening and that curses had been used on the land but he knew enough about the situation within Visa City and that it may not last.
He did not seem too concerned that Visa City would not remain and that the village would lose its support system as if he already had some other reliance.
It was like they had the knowledge that their village would be left unaffected by the fall of Visa City and they could become independent or would have another power they would rely on.
It was like a story of a fallen noble or a village head wishing for bigger things like taking on a ruling position by helping with the fall of Visa City and profiting from the chaos.
Whether they were driven by ambition or vengeance only they would know themselves.
Perhaps they had begun by buying the land of those that were struggling but once they had the power of the curse and a plant based magician, they became very greedy and caused so many people to suffer due to their ambitions.
The head of the family and the village head had undergone questioning and many things were confirmed but it did not just end there.
In the darkness of the night, there were some people sleeping inside a building not knowing what was going on and why there had been nobody else to return that night.
There was a strange noise as the lock on the door had unlocked and the door opened slowly.
Almura was bent over slightly and held a small tool that was for lock picking, she whispered. "Job done."
Mallory had followed behind and entered the home, the faint moonlight shone through the opened door after she had entered the room.
They both quietly walked around and had began searching the house until they stumbled upon a room.
The door was slowly pushed open and there was a sleeping man who was somewhere in his twenties.
He snored loudly and did not wake up from the small noise that had been created but once Almura had stepped inside, her foot touched something that was laying on the floor.
It was cup which was then knocked over and had rolled onto its side which had spilled out the drink that was inside.
The room was very messy and there were a lot of things that were lying around.
It was like an accident was just waiting to happen but it had only helped the man who was sleeping due to the noise that was made by Almura waking him up.
Her rolled over and opened his eyes slowly which showed how he had failed to properly wake up and process things.
He saw two females in his room and thought he was seeing things or that he was dreaming but then he soon realised that he was awake.
He thought back to some words his father had said in the past. 'We have many enemies so we cannot drop our guard so easily. If you ever encounter someone breaking in then do not hesitate to kill them.'
His father was a former noble so he had made some enemies and had a bad relationship with his family but there were still many within the village who had a bad relationship with his father so he had been taught to prepare for various situations.
He was not skilled in combat and was not that physically fit but he still had his magic which he began to cast. "Grow and follow my guidance, breath of the land give your assistance to this bountiful harvest. Overgrowth!"
He took a little time to cast his spell and many pots inside of his room had suddenly had many plants and vines that had grown from them from a tiny plant or seed.
The strange thing was that two two intruders did not seem to show any signs of fear and did not attempt to interrupt him.
The vines and plants that were under his spells manipulation had shot towards them when he had heard the first noise they had made.
Mallory watched on as the vines got closer and let out a yawn.
Almura had tilted her head to the side and thought to herself. 'Mallory sure does trust in these things enough to spend some time to study other people using their own spells…'
