Holding back

While Joon and his wife were praying for Su Yue's good fortune, Su Yue and Ah Yue Fan were long gone but weren't in town yet.

Su Yue and Ah Yue Fan rode towards the city. Instead of going straight to the dilapidated Shen Manor where the city people would be gathering for the ritual, they decided to stop along the quiet road, at an intersection, like they were waiting for someone.

Su Yue, who hates white was wearing a white robe with a white veil while Ah Yue Fan was wearing a blue robe, dressed like a young master.

While the two were on their horses, they saw soldiers accompanying three imperial carriages along the road.

Ah Yue Fan and Su Yue sat on their horses, on top of a hill, overlooking the interception roads that had one going East, another going West, and the last one going to the Shen manor.

Ah Yue Fan's face changed. Without being told, he knew who was inside one of the carriages.
