First meeting
"You enrolled here?" weiss asked surprised at the second hand information. leon looked at the girl who seemed to be trying too hard to seem prim and proper and nodded. "yes , i admit seeing you here threw me for a lop as well , i figured you'd be enrolled in atlas academy." leon said honestly. "too many people trying to suck up to the future head of the schnee dust company." weiss said with a sigh. "you?" she asked relaxing into casual conversation. leon ruffled ruby's hair making her swat at him angrily.
"This one and her sister enrolled this year and i promised ozpin I'd show up when they did so here i am , though it does help i get to mess with them as well." leon said with a grin. "you are much more playful than during the business calls." weiss pointed out calmly. leon laughed " yeah business is business and personal is personal , something your father has trouble doing." he said with a calm smile. "he hasn't been the kindest person , no." weiss admitted with a sigh. "and what of the mistreatment of the faunus workers , was that just business?" another unfamiliar voice asked with what leon could have sworn was a hint of venom.
The three turned to look at the person who interjected and leon recognized them as the faunus girl who was hiding it. "former mistreatment , that was one of the stipulation to do business with me after all miss?" leon said fishing for a name. "blake belladonna , and why would the schnees care enough about your business to change their ways?" blake asked disbelieving of him. "vermilion drake , ceo and founder of titan corporation at your service" leon said with a showy bow. "wait THE titan corporation , as in the bleeding edge tech company?" blake asked in disbelief.
Leon frowned "did someone steal my companies name? i'll have the piranhas look into it." he said while rubbing his chin in thought. "what , no no no there is only one titan corporation , it's just hard to believe is all." blake clarified. leon looked at and shrugged "never really cared all that much about what people thought , it's easier to get things done that way." he said honestly. "i see , but what did you mean by former mistreatment , isn't it still going on?" blake asked confused. leon shook his head "it's not possible , otherwise her father would barely fit in a can right now." he said seriously.
"What do you mean by that!?" weiss asked very worried. leon looked at her " one of the abilities my semblance gave is called devil's due , basically it binds two parties together in an exchange and if one side doesn't comply with the terms their life force itself rips their bodies apart , very messy business. your dad is under such an agreement by his own choice and if he were to knowingly allow the faunus working for him to be mistreated then the punishment would activate." leon explained and all three of the girls went pale at the mental image.
"How could you do that to someone!?" ruby asked horrified that the kind leon could do such a thing. leon shook his head "i can't force this ability on someone , they themselves must accept for the power to take hold. before i even use this ability i inform the other person of the punishment , this means after that point on the outcome is decided only by themselves since i would rather not get ripped apart." leon explained honestly. the girls calmed down knowing that it wasn't a forcible issue.
"So if the head of the schnee company knew about mistreatment he could only fix it or suffer the punishment?" blake sought to confirm. leon nodded "that's correct , this has been in place for a little under two years now." he said calmly. "what about reparations for those mistreated in the past?" blake asked seriously. leon sighed and shook his head "the best i could do was rectify the mistreatment of faunus workers , i sought to reimburse the few faunus i could find out of my own companies wallet but few spoke up despite the guarantee of safety." he said sadly.
"I see , at least you tried. see you later leon." blake said before leaving. weiss was also not in the mood to stick around leaving ruby and leon there alone. that was until a scrawny blonde hair guy showed up asking if they knew what they were supposed to do. "weren't you the guy who threw up on the transport?" ruby asked confused. "hey motion sickness is a common problem!" the dude said defensively. "i'm jaune by the way." jaune introduced himself. ruby and leon followed suit with leon teasing jaune who seemed terrified of him.
