Scavenger hunt

Leon made sure to disappear from the classes sight before finding a good spot overlooking the small grove he set the first clue in. the various teams had apparently decided that this was a competition when it really wasn't. leon didn't care if they thought it was a competition so long as they actually tried to find the clues on their own initiative. this lesson actually had a secret point to it that was the reason ozpin and the rest of the professors agreed to participate. what none of the students had realized was that this lesson was designed to put pressure on them and stress them out.

This would allow the academy staff to judge how the students would act under prolonged stress and begin to adjust their lessons accordingly. this was actually the problem that most graduates faced from what leons employees told him. the stress of combat wasn't a problem for them but anything lasting a longer period of time tends to make them act twitchy. the faunus hunters ironically were the ones that didn't have this problem due to their constant segregation already making their lives stressful growing up.

Not to say this was a good reason to treat other people like they aren't sentient , cuz it wasn't. leon just wasn't going to be a pessimist and say that nothing good came from the shit situation the faunus were dealt. what leon couldn't figure out though was why most humans were under the impression that they stood on the same evolutionary step as the faunus. faunus had literally all the same things humans did and then more on top of that thanks to their animal traits. no matter how you looked at it faunus WERE superior even if that superiority was usually only slight.

There were of course exceptions to this were some faunus were head and shoulders above the rest such as leon. thanks to his exaggerated traits which was a rare but not unheard of phenomena leon had the superhuman physique of a gorilla AND the ability to fly along with the more common sharp sense of smell and night vision. most faunus paled in comparison to leon so it wasn't even needed to say that humans were also far behind him. leon had no doubt that the higher ups of the humans were aware of these facts about the faunus.

Anyway , it didn't surprise leon at all to see that the first team to figure out his hint was team rwby with ruby having apparently noodled it through. the girl was scary clever and that coming from leon was high praise. it had apparently taken the girl close to thirty minutes to figure out the place described by the hint. leon had actually chosen this place for the first clue because the eight trees had grown in a perfect circle with a small flower bed right in the center. the spot felt almost artificial in how perfectly placed it was.

It was clear from how overgrown the trees and grass were however that this wasn't true. leon figured he would use the spot for his little scavenger hunt as a sort of sub clue. literally all of the clues were located in a scenic location in beacon like this one. leon did this intentionally to see how fast the students picked up on the coincidences and started to check other scenic spots without the hints to them. it took the rest of the teams various different lengths of time to get the first clue but they all did by the time the second class was set to arrive.

The next two classes were a copy of the first however each class had a completely separate track of clues leading to very different stashes. this meant that each class had to follow their own clues since the clues of the other classes were useless to them. he announced this to them as well which made some of the students with that exact idea groan. the grimology professor peter port was the easiest source of hints to clues for the students since he was a big softie. leon thought it funny how glenda had complained to him that none of the students asked for hints from her when they were in bed.

Yeah the seemingly uptight glenda goodwitch had actually used leon as a stress relieving booty call after word of his conversation with yang got out. there was nothing romantic going on between them at all in fact it was more along the lines of a business transaction then anything else. leon struggled to keep up with the woman in bed because she was damn good at using her body against him. his level four endurance showed it's utility though and they both came out of the clash satisfied.
