Magic creation

Interestingly enough the little spat between leon and the council members didn't affect the students being sent to beacon for the vytal festival at the end of the year. the students were given a month off from lessons as the academy prepared to house and support the foreigners coming. leon was included in this since he was not actually needed for the foreign students. he still helped out around beacon but simply because he had nothing better to do. after reaching level four leons status had improved at a snails pace even under the effects of the gravity suit.

This wasn't so hard to believe since the falna required stronger and stronger challenges to improve quickly and while all grim still gave leon exp it was not enough to do much normally. most of the exp went straight into improving his stats but since the amount needed for even a single point increase was enormous it was slow going. the biggest challenge leon had was creating a form of useable magic with the infernal scrip. creating circles was a static and easy activity but manifesting magic in mid air with the script , unbelievably hard.

To give an idea of how hard it was , it was like writing essays in cursive compared to plucking the strings of reality with nothing but your willpower and luck. it was a monumental task to complete so leon was forced to master each of the individual steps he believed he needed to use this magic. he had theorized a total of four steps to use this magic so far which were visualization , exertion , manifestation and actualization. he was still working on the first step despite the amount of time he had had with the script. creating solid magic circles in your mind with such a complex language was a lot harder than most would assume.

This was actually one of the few things that the sharingan was useless for as it as entirely mental in nature so there was nothing for the eyes to see at this stage. if creating spells was a one size fits all type problem leon wouldn't have had so much trouble with this first stage but since the size , shape and wording of each magical effect required a set up he was stuck memorizing hundreds of designs. that part was easy though since once the design was done he could just write it down and store it with his sharingan.

The sheer volume of spells leon created in order to ensure his magic system was perfect for all occasions was what took so long. truthfully if he only focused on a single aspect with his spells he would probably be on the second or third step by now but he was a perfectionist. leon entirely ignored fire magic since his hell flame covered that category perfectly. so far he had created water and earth magic lines for his magic system but was struggling with wind magic.

Leon had even created several healing spells that were honestly the biggest pain in the ass since the body was stupidly complex and healing someone by giving them cancer would be a bad trade off. each and every healing circle was huge and filled with dozens of restrictions and exceptions to allow them to be used without worry. the wind magic was the last set leon was planning to create but he was having difficulties condensing the air into anything more than a strong gust. the lightning aspect of air was fairly easy in comparison since the phenomena that created lightning was very well understood.

Leon had already studied the wind based semblances at beacon but only a single one was useful for attacking. the most useful one in leons opinion however was the {air null} semblance that removed all air resistance for the user. if leon had this ability his flight speed would be way faster since his own lacking aerodynamics wouldn't play as huge a roll in restricting his speed. people simply aren't very aerodynamic and as a result air resistance was a huge problem for flying faunus. not surprising at all was that the semblance was listed as a speed type in the register that all governments kept.

Yes there was a list of all the semblances that most people had ever awakened that was made by incentivizing those who awakened their aura to record them for future reference. there were a total of five categories that a semblance could be classified under, attack , defense , speed , auxiliary and combination. the first three were easy to understand but the last two were very finicky about their classifications. typically auxiliary was things such as healing , boosting and illusions while combination is when a semblance takes on the traits of more than one category. leon's semblance {vampire} fell into this category since it boosted , healed and increased his power and defense all at once.
