The Climax...?

"Okay, Sash, when I asked for an update I didn't mean. This." Ori throws a hand at the holoscreen showing Sheila getting railed by the Director.

She shrugs, "Yeah well, I didn't expect there to be a cam pointed directly at the bed... Besides, can't we use this later for blackmail?"

Rebecca snorts, "For the girl maybe, the guy'd take it as a badge though. Should've expected a fugly dude like that to record all his sessions. Probably uses the vids as insurance."

Christy nods, "Sounds about right... Most people running entertainment are sleezebags. Can you do anything with this though?"

"I've got access to her phone so she isn't running anywhere without us knowing. I doubt someone like her would forget and leave it somewhere anyhow. As for Fae?" her eyes flash with data and the screen changes, broadcasting a video from what looks like her laptop webcam. "Hm... Looks like she's calling some friends of yours."

"Friends?" Christy parrots.

"She means the assassins, you gonk cheerleader." Rebecca grins.

Sasha nods, "I'll link it up, one sec..."

"-ust asking why you after dealt with her yet!? Do you know how much I've paid you already!? SHE SHOULD BE GONE!" Fae shouts as she paces back and forth in front of the feed.

"We tried alright? We bombed her goddamn car! We tried to jump her at her place! The bitch is slippier than a public bathroom!" a gruff voice quickly replies, sounding incredibly irritated.

"Yeah? But she's got bodyguards now! How're you gonna deal with that shit?" Fae spits.

"She what!? And you called us directly!? Are you completely fucking gonked outta your mind? What if someone starts investigating? You're leaving a trail of evidence that could fuck us all!"

"And!? If you don't get rid of her that's the last thing you gotta deal with!"

"Screw you! Encrypt your shit or come meet us directly. Otherwise don't call!"

*Beep!*

Fae angrily throws her holophone at the wall and begins cursing under her breath, "Fine, I'll do your jobs for you!" she shouts as she storms off outta sight.

"That was interesting..." Ori drawls.

"The Animal guy had some sense at least." Rebecca adds.

"That does give us some problems... It sounds like she might try to harm Christy herself..." Sasha speculates.

Christy straightens in her seat, "Er... I just got a text from Fae..."

"What about?"

"She wants to talk about meeting up, the three of us..."

Rebecca grins, "Perfect! She's basically doing our job for us. Just agree to some place and we'll hit 'em..."

"That won't work if we want to keep Christy's involvement secret. The first thing they'll do is investigate their communications... Though..." Ori thinks to himself and turns to Christy, "How'd you feel about getting blown up?"

...

"You're kidding, right?" she asks, questioning both his intelligence and her own for hiring him.

He shakes his head, "I mean, you'll survive it. I just want you in the vicinity to take some injuries, make it look like all three of you were targetted but you barely got out alive."

"Can we think of a way that doesn't involve me getting hurt...?" she almost pleads.

"No, that's kind of smart... Investigators will see you arranging the meet-up, you come late and only get hit by part of the bomb. If you investigate more then they'll find Fae and Sheila's attempts to kill you. The most obvious answer is another botched attempt, a miss-timed bomb maybe?" Sasha explains.

"Can't I just snipe them all from a distance then? Hit our girl here in the shoulder or something...?" Rebecca wonders aloud.

"No, that'd mean there's a third party involved." Ori rejects.

...

"I'm not sure I'm comfortable with getting bombed... Aren't you supposed to protect me anyway? Who bombs their own clients?" she questions, obviously against the plan.

Ori can't help but glance at Rebecca, "I can think of one person..."

"Hey, that happened before we met. Besides, you guys came up with this plan, not me!" she folds her arms childishly.

Ori leans forwards and locks eyes with Christy, "Look, we'll make sure we get the correct yield, we'll do tests on dummies, and we'll even be on standby just in case. You have Health Insurance right? Then a Trauma Team'll be on sight in minutes... Trust me, at most you'll get a few cuts and scratches."

...

"I want to see the tests..."

"You got it."

"I want you to test it too." she continues.

He smiles 'warmly', "Sure." he offers as Rebecca stifles her own grin.

-------------------------

[Alright, Fae's on sight. Head in, Rebecca.] Ori orders as Fae enters the brunch resteraunt. She enters casually, taking a seat at a booth directly next to Fae's and placing her 'purse' underneath her seat. She does order some food of course, a stack of pancakes to be specific...

Regardless, while she shovels the sweets into her mouth, Sasha's voice draws his attention.

"Ori, Animals nearby, probably waiting to jump Christy if she shows..." she alerts him, showing him the feed of a hacked camera, an alleyway down the street with three parked cars filled with the burly mercs. Unfortunately for them, they lacked a Netrunner, leaving them sitting ducks for Ori's crew.

"I-Is it off then...?" Christy asks from the backseat of the truck.

Ori shakes his head, "Nah, I've been meaning to have a chat with them anyway." he states, the chances of them being the very same that killed his father were pretty high considering. He tosses the detonator to Sasha and steps out, "You coordinate things from here, I'll deal with our friends... Oh, and get a scrambler set up, can't risk them alerting the targets."

Sasha nods after fumbling with the detonator and breathing a sigh of relief at the safety measures. "It'll be up in five."

"Good," he grabs Bore but thinks again and tosses it back into the car. No point in starting a shootout in the centre of Wellsprings. Besides, the Animals were more likely to take it as a direct challenge if he went without... His revolvers would stay of course, going completely unarmed would be retarded.
