Inside the room, I sat in the nearest chair and popped the cork on the whiskey, not bothering with a glass. The amber liquid burned on the way down and left a pleasant feeling in my stomach that helped cover up the fire from earlier. I took one more before I handed the bottle to Cian, who had just looked at me with a frown. He accepted, put the flask in his mouth, and took a big sip. A drop escaped him and rolled slowly down his chin before he wiped it away. The moan slipped out of me before I could help myself, my tongue yearning to lick it away. He returned the bottle, probably thinking the sound was because of pain. And it was, but a different pain. Suddenly, the whiskey seemed like a bad idea; I knew exactly how it would taste on his lips. That didn’t stop me from drinking more, and we handed the battle to and fro until it was half-empty.
“Feel better now?” Cian sat on the bed, lowering the bottle. “We will find it, even without the Astro-thingy.”
“You think so?” My voice slurred; we hadn’t had much to eat through the day, speeding up the effect of the alcohol traveling through my veins.
“I know so. We have to follow the clues.”
I stood clumsily to take the bottle from him but had forgotten about the foot. The leg gave in to avoid the stab of pain, and I fell forward – grabbing the nearest thing. Cian reached for me instantly, spreading his legs to make room for my body falling on top of him. I balanced the bottle, drowning in his blue eyes. Cian wiggled underneath me, and I excused myself, all flustered.
“No, don’t move…” He smirked, showing me his dimple. “I just need a minute.”
The feeling of him, so new yet so familiar, made me burn. Walking deeper into the fire, I crawled up on the bed, forcing him back and straddling him. I saw his chest rising rapidly as he held my hips.
“Jamie…” The moan slipped over me like rain on a hot day, it should have quenched me, but it burned me.
“Cian,” I said it like an answer, grinding against him without intending to. I took one last sip, killing the last of the nervousness.
“I’m just going to… put this bottle down, and then we can continue. OK?” I talked slowly, hoping I made myself clear. Cian nodded with an open mouth. I slid off him, feeling him between my legs. Was I doing this? I wanted to; I wanted to so badly…
I limped over to the small table, setting down the bottle too gently, using the extra seconds to think about this again. Was I about to fuck up royally?
“Jamie…Turn around.” He had a level of command in his voice I hadn’t heard before, so I acted accordingly. Spinning on my left foot, I found myself face to face with Cian, his shirt unbuttoned on the top, his hair ruffled. He hadn’t shaved today, so he had a slight stubble covering his jaw, giving him a rugged look.
Cian wrapped his arms around me and put his hands on my ass, squeezing hard before he lifted me.
“Put your legs around me, babe,”
He backed me up until I hit the wall, banging my head on the hardwood. He grabbed the chance and licked my neck, and I felt the shivers from my toes and up. Cian pressed his pelvis hard against me, looking for relief, and I moved back. I dug my fingers into his hair, taking charge.
“Kiss me before I go up in flames. Kiss me.” I moaned against his lips, the sliver of air between us shimmering with all the passion building up.
“I don’t think kissing you will stop the flames, Jamie.” He said before crushing his lips against mine, nibbling and biting until I moaned and let his tongue in. How had I ever imagined I could stay away from him? He was everything I had ever dreamed about. Better than anything Shakespeare could have imagined, the fire is so much more alive than in the poems.
My fingers left his hair and traveled down to his chest; unbuttoning the area, I reached and pulled at the rest, eager to feel his skin against mine. He mumbled words into my mouth, but I didn’t care what he was saying; I needed him now.
“Cian, please…” Understanding my plea between the kiss, he carried me to the bed and tossed me down. With the shirt open, he crawled over me; eyes dark with desire.
“I don’t know if I can stop, you have to tell me no now, or else it’s no going back, love.”
