Iris's POV
The familiar car that always drove me to and from school every day slowly came into view as i looked in the distance emotionlessly. I hadn’t talked to my parents or my brothers since the day they came to here. The next day i refused to not go school for two reasons. One because i already had a lot of catch-up work to do and two, i knew that if i stayed home, i would constantly be thinking about … that.
I could scarcely remember talking to the Roberts family asking if i could stay with them until i got on my own feet, but i think their exact words were “You don’t worry about that love, you can stay here forever.”
