Josie had finally moved all her belongings into Victor’s place, lock, stock, and barrel. Totally trying to wipe out every memory that Sabine had ever been there. Unfortunately, she could not erase Sabine from Victor’s memories. In his own sick and twisted way, he would always love Sabine, or he loved owning her but none of that mattered anymore. Her betrayal hurt more than he ever thought it would. He needs to end that chapter of his life because he now has Josie and their little one.
Victor changed into his blue jeans and a white T-shirt. He was happy with the outcome of the meeting this afternoon. Everyone had shown up and even though there was a little protesting against his new ideas, most of them finally saw their errors and accepted the changes. And to the small amount who did not like the new proposal, well they were dealt with accordingly.
New territories were divided and everybody now has equal opportunities to make some good money. It has made Victor’s job of assessing everyone’s work performance so much easier. If a territory doesn’t perform, well then shit would be getting real for them. Besides, there will always be men out there that are willing to step up and take over, where they failed. Victor was in his room packing for the trip that he and Ty will be going on.
Josie came storming into the room, slightly out of breath. Her chest is heaving as she tries to speak. Victor threw his shirt on the bed and ran to her
“Is the baby okay?” he says panicking slightly.
“No, yes the baby is fine. I think I might have a location on Sabine?” she says excitedly. Victor’s heart almost skipped a beat. “The information is over a week old already and he is not entirely sure it’s her but the red R1 was seen two towns over from Melrose” she squeals in excitement.
“How the hell did you get that information, when none of our connections or guys could come up with anything?” Victor asks pulling Josie into his arms and twirling her around. He was filled with excitement as he felt one step closer to ending his nightmare.
“You remember Butch right, the guy ….” She trails off
“Yeah, yeah I remember, carry on,” he says impatiently, not caring about Josie and Butch’s history, he was just glad that someone might have seen her and now he knows the general direction in which Sabine went. Things were starting to look up for him.
“Well, Butch says a dark-haired woman arrived at their local bar about a week ago she was on a red R1, she apparently caused quite a stir,” Josie says looking quite proud of herself, for gathering this information, where Victor’s men had fallen short.
“I will be downstairs in five, then we will head over to the compound together, you will stay there till I return, do you hear me?” he says slapping Josie on the arse before moving back to his bed, where his clothes are almost packed. Josie turned and headed towards the door when Victor called out to her, stopping her in her tracks.
“Thanks for all your hard work babe,” he says before picking up a t-shirt to resume his packing. Josie looked like a sly Cheshire cat when she left. Finally, she will be left alone and her plans can start falling into place quicker than she expected.
Victor quickly and quietly resumed his packing, gathered his belongings, and headed downstairs to where Josie was waiting for him. The trip to the compound whet reasonably quick, now that Victor had a cracker in his arse, he just wanted to get on the road and get his wife back.
Victor walked into the compound calling his trusted men into his office for a quick meeting.
“Sabine might have been spotted!” Victor exclaimed to a chorus of gasps that were released around the room. Questions started flooding everyone’s minds. Ty standing in one corner with a look of shock that he quickly schools, his face becoming stoic and neutral.
“Edge, you leave tonight, for your undercover assignment, and we will see you soon. Ty, you and me and two prospects leave for Melrose, we’re going hunting. We leave in an hour, no bikes, we drive in cars. The rest of you protect the compound and Josie, she will be here until we return, and please keep me informed about anything and everything?” he asks before dismissing the lot of them. He heads towards the bar, where Josie is sitting talking to a few other girls.
“Come here babe?” he says pulling Josie towards him. “We are leaving for Melrose in an hour. I am going to sort out business with Valentino, a business you need to know nothing about. Ty and the two prospects will be hunting down Sabine as that is where we believe she might have gone” he says pulling her onto his lap at the tables. She is now straddling his thighs. “Kiss me and make me happy before I leave” he pouts making Josie all the more willing to make her man a happy man.
Sabine.
Sabine’s last cognitive thought was about peace and finally not being overwhelmed by thoughts of being on the run, finally, she was safe. She fell asleep on top of the covers, yet when she awoke she was covered with a throw blanket she hadn’t noticed last night, she wondered how it ended up over her. That thought alone, sent a chill running through her. Who the hell was in her room last night?
Jumping off the bed, she went to check the door it was unlocked so she locked the door shook off the unease she felt, and decided to have a quick shower before going downstairs for breakfast. The hot water eased and relaxed her entirely, when she was done she dressed in tights and a fitted shirt with trainers, she would have to make a point of going to buy some more clothes now that she was where she would be safe. She walked out of her room, closing the door behind her.
Wow, how had she noticed the extravagance of this place last night? There were doors lined on both sides of the broad corridor. The artwork that lined the walls and the expensive décor she was surrounded with was way too bright and expensive for a biker’s compound. Well, that’s what her experience with the Sons of Death told her, they just smoked, drugged, and drank, and money was spent on unimportant things. This was just extravagant, and rich.
She walked down the stairs since she is yet to see Chris, maybe he is already in the dining room. She followed the loud banter and noise and then stood frozen in the doorway when she did not see his comforting face Chris around, all the noise died down and all eyes were focused on her. Nervous and biting on her bottom lip she quietly steps into the room,
“Hey there, I am Sabine,” she said shyly. This guy full of tattoos jumps up and gives her his hand.
“Slade, and where do you come from gorgeous?” looking around at his brothers thinking that one of these fuckers got lucky with her last night and forgot to mention the beauty they had upstairs. Knowing that would be impossible because who could forget about someone like her, he thought to himself.
“I am Chris’ cousin and I will be staying here for a while,” she says now looking at the floor.
“Hey none of that nervous shit around here gorgeous, we won’t bite, unless you ask us to?” Slade says jokingly.
“Speak for yourself” someone else muttered from the table which had a few of the men laughing and Sabine blushing even more.
“You must be starving, please join us?” he says pushing Sabine towards an empty chair at the table.
“I am Slade, as I said before. I own the tattoo shop with Chris. Pleased to meet you” Slade says then all the guys started introducing themselves.
“I am Bellamy, the VP, but you can call me Bell?” he says.
“I am Sarge, the Sergeant At Arms”
“I am Roadie, the Road Captain, hey there”
“Hammer, Enforcer”
“Still a man of few words. Hey there gorgeous, I am Stigz. The computer tech” And then a man’s voice comes from behind her
“I am Thor, the club Pres.” Sabine turned around so fast that she almost fell off her chair. That voice was something from out of this world. It was so deep and rough, yet sounded so smooth. It suited the man who stood almost at 6 feet and was broad-shouldered and huge, man this man is big. As Thor sat at the head of the table everyone dug into the food that was laid out and the noise commenced.
After breakfast, Sabine started gathering the dirty dishes and coffee mugs,
“Nah love, the prospects will come in shortly and tidy up,” Bellamy says just as four prospects walked in and started clearing the table. Thor sat back watching Sabine from the corner of his eye, the man she is truly an amazing specimen he thought to himself, and those green eyes were a beautiful green, whereas the eyes that haunt his dreams were the palest of blue.
Sabine decided that this would be the perfect time to explore her surroundings, considering that Chris missed breakfast and she had no idea where he could be. She got bored of exploring real fast so she ended up back in her room listening to music.
