Chapter 12 - Friends or Enemies?

- Welcome - tells them Charlie who is waiting at the entrance of the barracks - come here.

Eldwin, Egios, Kathrinna and Nom follow him through the corridors, before the somewhat curious gaze of the other guards, they enter an office where wait seated Xelos and a light-eyed woman, of robust appearance and defiant look, uses a glove on his left arm, in fact his entire arm is covered while the right only has a slight protector.

- I think we will need a larger place - says the woman. - come with me.

He takes them to a room with a large central table where there are several maps that she collects, reviews them and then places one of them on the table.

- Master Xelos has informed me of your actions in our territory, which although they didn’t have prior authorization, they have shown to have very valuable information.

- She’s captain Safin - says Xelos - she’s in charge of a search squad of high level criminal organizations, they don’t take care of bandits or any of that, but of organized groups that present a greater danger for the population.

- That's right, and for a couple of months we have detected the actions of this cult, kidnappings, disappearances... but that's what I see you already know, what you want is to talk to our prisoner.

- Did he tell you something? - Egios asks.

- He hasn’t spoken, we found this with him - she says as she shows a papyrus with the symbol of Qwrarles, the same one they found in the abandoned house. - We have him tied up and he’s under surveillance, they usually try to take their own life.

- Well, then we better visit it quickly - says Kathrinna.

- I warn you that it will not be easy to make him speak, in fact,... it would be almost a miracle, of the few we have managed to catch, they have resisted to the point of preferring to die than saying anything.

- There are methods that will help us with that - says Xelos.

- Let me try - adds Kathrinna

- Do you know mental magic? - Xelos question

- Let's just say that I'm good with people.

The captain accompanies them to the dungeons, most of them totally empty, the smell of humidity and the bars begin to make in Egios an image of the memory of that season in captivity, turns to look at Kathrinna but she continues as if nothing, since they returned from the tower she has been a little distant, her look shows that perhaps all this persecution has her very concentrated, she knows that time is against them, if it takes too long maybe the time of delivery of the box will be lost and then... what would happen ?, and if she doesn’t solve this issue it is very possible that these increasingly strong enemies end up achieving their goal and frustrate all their effort.

- Don’t stress, brother - Nom says - Just think that you already surpassed it.

- Thanks friend. I thought it would affect me more... in fact I didn’t even have it in mind.

- It's the best, to not think so much.

- Egios laughs at the boy's comment - ... have you been to one of these?

- Before being with Yovun,... well, the rules of you from the north are very different, - Nom laughs a little -... but everything went well.

- And after Yovun?

- He taught me a lot, to adapt ... but there was no lack of the client who didn’t want to pay or the mission that the guards got into, they were one or two days in the dungeon, but I am agile, I almost always escaped Ha!... Jail food is usually horrendous.

Egios approaches a wall between the cracks of the bricks a small stream of water leaks, passes his finger through the liquid crystalline and only smiles.

- It must be dirty - says Nom - the river is better.

- I didn’ say I was going to drink it.

They arrive at a special cell chamber, the captain instructs them to follow one of her assistants to an office, while she, Xelos and Kathrinna enter the place. The office allows to see through a small window a space in the background, there appears the prisoner brought by a guard and then they see Kathrinna who enters the place, soon Xelos arrives at the office and goes near Egios to see what what will happen

- The captain is at the entrance - says Xelos. - Let's see what your friend can do.

- She is very good at that.

- Yes, I hope so.

The man sits in a small wooden chair while Kathrinna places her box on one side and stands in front of him, the man's arms and feet are tied, and in his mouth he is wearing a gag to keep him from biting his tongue. His reddened eyes show his fury and his agitated breathing denote Kathrinna that it will not be an easy task, but if she doesn’t succeed, who knows what kind of methods Xelos will be willing to perform in the poor man.

She approaches and puts her hand on his shoulder, then whispers something in his ear, the man calms down enough for her to remove the gag and allow him to speak.

- Yes, she's good - Xelos tells Egios.

- And you haven’t seen anything! - says Nom energetically to what Eldwin and Egios scold him for keep silence.

The man begins to babble a bit without taking his eyes off Kathrinna.

- Who you are? - he asks.

- I just want to help you.

- You're a vampire,... you don’t help anyone. - says the man with a choked and fearful voice.

- The men you seek, they have deceived you, they are criminals and only seek to cause harm.

- The man laughs softly before beginning to speak - ... they will open a portal to the demonic world so that Lord Qwrarles can cross into this world and make it his domain.

- They can never do that,... they will only cause a lot of death and disasters, do you really want to be part of that?

- There is nothing for me in this world, what matters if ... agh ... - the man twists a little and lowers his head, Kathrinna approaches and helps him to rejoin.

- Are you okay?

- They know you are looking for them, they know you want to prevent them from opening the portal, but... no... you will not be able to stop them - the man's breathing starts to shake again, she takes his hands but doesn’t achieve any effect. - You should... leave the villages... when Qwrarles arrives... it will destroy everything ... not even the Guardians can... avoid it.

- Help us to avoid doing it, help us to save these people and...

Kathrinna notices that from the man's eyes begin to fall black tears staining his face as they descend, again begins to writhe. She turns to look at the window where Xelos looks closely at the man.

- It's late already ... - he continues - it's ... the rock ... Fgo ... vul ... they... are.

The man falls motionless on the floor and then his body begins to melt to form a pool of black liquid, the captain enters the place accompanied by a guard, she can’t say enough when she notices that from liquid begin to emerge humanoid creatures who launch their attack while others begin to climb the walls, Kathrinna's dagger can damage them, but ordinary weapons only pierce their bodies as if they crossed a liquid body.

Egios turns to look and sees Xelos leaving quickly from the office. Eldwin sets out to get some gadgets to fight with the creatures.

- Those are Loozes - says Eldwin - We have to stop them with magic weapons or magic ... where did Xelos go?

- I don’t know - answers Egios.

Egios goes to the window and sees Kathrinna fighting against the creatures supported by the captain, some of them have already escaped from the place.

- Go after the elf - says Eldwin - Don’t let him go, we will stop the creatures.

- Yes.

Egios leaves the office quickly, the guards cross by his side going towards the interrogation room but he doesn’t see traces of Xelos, he continues walking and observing each corridor. How would he find a magician? He begins to run and leaves the building there he sees Xelos crossing the street in the distance entering through a corridor, he goes out after him but when he reaches the corridor there is no trace, he continues to watch and walk and decides to climb some boxes and ceilings to find him from above. He reaches the edge of a house and actually sees him walking through the alleys, then pounces on him.

- Do you plan to flee?

- What are you doing, idiot?

- You will not get away with that.

Xelos raises his hand while a magic field covers them, immediately several arcane impacts hit the shield, when the attack finish, Egios can see 4 cultists approaching, 2 on each side.

- Did you really believe that I was the culprit? What's up with you?

- I'm sorry ... but you should have said something.

Egios gathers his rings invoking his armor, wields his sword and prepares to fight.

- These guys have very dirty tricks, be wary.

- All right.

Xelos points each hand towards a group of cultists and from them many insects begin to emerge that cloud the alley. Soon they see the impacts of the spells of the cultists that hit the swarm.

- Now! ... Take the ones on the right ... go! go! - Shouts Xelos.

Egios gets between the insects and soon arrives with the cultists, of one assault knocks down one, at the same time the other cultist begins to attack him with magical missiles. Egios covers himself and his armor resists quite well, when he sees an opening, he launches his attack. The cultist is protected with a magic shield that his sword can not break, the other cultist rejoins and begins to attack Egios in the back.

One of the cultists on the other side casts a powerful fire spell that sets all of Xelos's insects on fire, exposing it again. The other summons two magic swords and launches to attack Xelos who invokes a sword from the ground and prepares to face him.

Egios feels trapped in his fight, his armor protects him from damage but his weapon cannot pass the shields of the magicians, it’s like a dead end. But he knows that magicians use energy to perform their spells, he must only wait until they wear out or until he loses the fight.

Xelos invokes his chains that trap the cultist in the place, the man tries to use a spell to free himself but when he succeeds he is hit by a powerful purple ray directly from the hands of Xelos that take him out of combat. The remaining cultist begins to flee and Xelos goes after him.

Egios realizes that although his weapon does not manage to cross the shields, perhaps his armor does, and he starts to throw blows, one of them manages to cross the cultist's shield and hit him in the face. The cultists look at each other and then create a magical bond between the two that they use to tie Egios.

- Jeon knew you would be dangerous - says the cultist while pulling out a dagger. - we just have to remove the ring from your finger.

A lance crosses towards them, the cultists narrowly dodge it and can see at the entrance of the alley Captain Safin along with 3 more guards, the men shoot arrows towards the cultists who try to stop them with their magic, but they soon notice that the arrows can penetrate the magical shields, it doesn’t take long until one of them falls impacted by the arrows, at the moment Egios manages to free himself from his tether and takes the opportunity to attack the remaining cultist who fails to react in time and falls for his sword. The captain approaches Egios and after looking a little amazed his armor asks.

- Who you are?

- It's me - he says withdrawing his ring - Egios.

- Wow... were there more?

- Yes,... Xelos went after him, in that direction.

- All right.

Safin makes a sign and the guards accompany her to the direction that Egios has given them, he also joins, they can see marks in various places in the town of the magical battle that has taken place, in some parts even the villagers have peered curiously to see what happens, they continue walking and checking, finally find him several blocks below, near the town square. Xelos rests looking at the body of the cultist nailed by 3 magical swords on the wall of a building.

- You survived - says Xelos.

- And you too - he replies.

- Too bad we have not been able to capture them - says the captain.

- I would call it a resounding success - says Xelos - his plan was to throw down the prison building while we were fighting the creatures. But I knew that Loozes' summoning spell in the way they did required the magician to be near, they’re always used as a distraction.

- It’s fortunate that you stopped them, but now we have no clues, in what way do you consider it a success? - Egios says.

- They are... 4 magicians, believe me these could be the majority in the cult, it was a plan designed not to fail and that’s why they sent their sorcerers.

- We still have a clue - she says - the man mentioned the Fgorivul rock before becoming a black water.

- It's far from here?

- Not much, - the captain replies - in fact it is a little known place, used by smugglers as a reference but is unknown to most of the population.

Kathrinna arrives accompanied by Nom, Charlie and Eldwin, they haven’t received serious injuries although Eldwin has a bite on his right arm that has already been bandaged.

- Did you catch them all?

- At least all we saw - replies Xelos.

- We will have to be more alert - adds the Captain - we have become a threat to them and it’s very possible that they continue attacking us, I will return to the barracks and will order to increase security, you will return and rest, tomorrow we will leave to that place.

- It seems good to me - says Xelos retiring.

The group proceeds to say goodbye to the captain and also they retire traveling to the house of Charlie that has become their refuge, there wait Fiona and Vicky, who still doesn’t show many signs of improvement. Egios goes quickly to the kitchen to prepare something for her.

- What do you prepare this time? - asks Kathrinna who just enters the kitchen.

- Its soup, I have medicinal herbs that I carry in my luggage, but I have to buy more because I don’t have many.

- Human medicine is very rare - she says approaching to smell what Egios cooks - Although today in particular I don’t think your soup smells so bad.

- I guess that's a compliment.

- Something like that... even so, I would still not try it.

- Are you worried?

- Of course, we are facing strong enemies... it's a good fortune that we have found strong allies.

- I think Xelos is strange... but he's reliable.

- He is a Dark Elf, he will be reliable while we are useful to him, it’s his nature.

- Hey girl, do you want wine? - Charlie says as he enters and takes a bottle from a pantry.

- Wine? - she asks.

- I've heard that vampires like red wine.

- That's true, I'll accept a drink.

- Good... what about you Egios?

- Yes, why not.

Charlie serves 4 glasses and after dividing them he leaves with the other for Eldwin.

- What will you do with the box when we have to attack them? It will be very dangerous to take it directly to their territory.

- Perhaps it’s an advantage... they will want to avoid that the box is damaged and they will be hold back or get confused.

- It may be like that... what will happen if the box is damaged?

- I guess we'll finally know what's inside.

- That’s irresponsible.

- That's why - she says finishing her wine - We can’t allow it to happen... this wine is good, do you think he will bother if I take out a little more?

- I don’t know…

As she approaches the bottle and takes out a little more, Egios smiles a little when he sees a more human face of Kathrinna, Egios finishes the soup and serves on a plate, Kathrinna quickly approaches.

- Let me take the soup to her.

- Easy, I can do it.

- No... no... - she says removing the plate from his hands - you go with Eldwin and Xelos, they are sure to plan something, I will take care of Vicky.

- But…

Kathrinna just ignores him and takes the soup, before crossing the door he throws a slight smile and then disappears. Egios follows her and heads to the living room where Eldwin, Nom and Charlie chat while Xelos carefully reads one of Eldwin's books.

- Egios ... what exactly is your idea to attack the cultists? - Charlie asks.

- Well, first we need to know their location.

- Yes... and then what?... well, I mean ... Eldwin and I aren’t the most experienced fighters, Nom and Vicky are not in shape, the girl... well it's a girl, there are only you three. So far we have seen several cult outposts, but we don’t know how many of them will actually be at their base.

- I think our best bet is the guard, or not Xelos?

- Yes, you clearly forged a plan without even knowing what you intended - says the elf - although you have some reason too, it was difficult to know the dimension of our enemy without enough information, it could be a small group hanging around and doing theirs, but with what I have seen, I know that it isn’t a very big organization... it’s more a group of amateur fanatics who are learning, and that makes them a threat, not only for you and your box but for the population in general.

- Wait ... what box are you talking about? - Eldwin asks.

- Kathrinna's box, of course. - says Xelos.

- The box doesn’t matter - says Egios - what worries us is the cult.

- No... no, wait, you told me that they were looking for you... now there is a kind of box, is it the same that Kathrinna always carries and never leaves? It seemed strange to me...

- Didn’t they tell you about the box? - Xelos asks Egios.

- Weren’t you supposed to spy on us? - he replies.

- I don’t know boy, but I want you to clarify this to once and for all - says Charlie getting up.

- What’s happening. - Eldwin asks.

- Well... - initiates Egios - Kathrinna's mission is to take a box with a Qwrarles artifact to the territory of dark elves, in Ergaddya. The cult has been chasing her since she left Escyddar, the land of vampires, but each time their attacks have become more dangerous and threaten to take the mission to failure.

- An artifact of Qwrarles!... are you sure of that? - Eldwin asks - that's very interesting, but even more... tremendously dangerous!

- Well, we really don’t know what's inside, it's very well sealed but it bears its stamp.

- You have very good skills with those locks, you opened that house, I didn’t think anyone could do it - says Charlie.

- I'm not going to open it, it's Kathrinna's mission.

- Xelos, do you think you could contain whatever is in that box? - says Eldwin. - I say, in case there is something dangerous.

- It really is a bad idea Eldwin.

- Think about it, whatever it’s there has made a secret cult come to light just to seize such an artifact, it must be something very valuable,... hey Xelos, what do you say?

- No - says Xelos quietly.

- No what? - Eldwin asks.

- I'm not interested in the box, if you're going to do something, do it, but I will not have anything to do with it.

- Aren’t you interested? An artifact of Qwrarles! How many times have you seen one?

- Never... and if there really is an artifact of an Infernal Lord in that box, believe me it's better that It never gets out of there.

- Wow... I thought you elves wanted to know everything.

- There are differences between wanting to learn and manipulating forces that surpass your understanding. If true, the only one who could open that box would be a Guardian.

- Why do cultists want it then? - Charlie asks.

- Because they are just like you... they love to play with what they don’t understand - the elf finishes and continues reading his book, completely ignoring the men.

Eldwin and Charlie remain silent and return to drink their wine. Nom hasn’t said a word and his face doesn’t have the typical joy that characterizes it.

- What do you think about this Nom? - Egios says in a low voice.

- Mr. Xelos is right, we should not play with what we don’t know... besides opening the box is betraying Miss Kathrinna after everything she has done for us.

- Yes, you're right.

- For knowledge to advance - says Eldwin who has listened to them - we must make certain sacrifices, and in fact, the hidden lords are our enemies whether we like it or not, we know very little about them, to the point that many doubt whether they really exist, the only way to defeat an enemy is to know their strength and weaknesses, nobody wants to go to the battlefield without knowing their opponent.

- I want to take some fresh air - Egios tells Nom - will you accompany me?

- Yes, sure.

Both leave the house and begin to walk through the village, it’s perhaps the first time they walk the streets of Tahnarav without looking for cultists. It’s a town where people are very cautious, they don’t look at strangers and houses are closed most of the time, the streets are lonely, maybe it was always like that, maybe it’s the answer to the recent attacks of the cultists. Several guards can be seen walking in pairs, and when crossing through the place where Xelos finished with the cultist, some people are found cleaning the wall.

- I was reading a diary that we found in the abandoned house the other day.

- Diary?... What luck!

- Yes, it doesn’t reveal much... it's just the owner's thoughts, but what I've seen is that these cultists are influencing people who are weak-minded, confused or depressed, through their spies they identify them and they start to whisper things to their ears.

- That would be very annoying and exasperating.

- Yes, that's what I'm going for ... it's not a pleasant invitation, they lock the person in their thoughts, they take it to the edge of despair and they plant the idea that their only salvation is to join the cult, that's why these people can come to attack even those of your own family.

- Wow, what crazy people, really those fans are crazy, don’t you think Mr. Egios?

- I wouldn’t say that crazy, rather they are miserable fellows who take advantage of the weakness of people to turn them into their vassals, they know very well what they do and they do it without regard. That's why we have to stop them.

Egios looks across the street and sees that the post office is still open. He hasn’t received a response from his friend for a long time, and Zeri's letter doesn’t count for him. Together with Nom they enter the office and ask the clerk if he has anything for him.

- Sir, in fact yes ... I was wondering if someone would come to claim it because I didn’t know anyone from the town with that name - says the tall, thin man who pulls a box under the counter and after a bit of searching he hands Egios an envelope.

- Thank you very much, good man. - Egios says with a smile on his face.

- It’s with pleasure.

They leave the building and sit on the sidewalk, Egios knows that Nom doesn’t know how to read, so he takes out the parchment without problems.

Redalzun, SL XXIII – 267 Anum 18.

Egios

Dear friend

I read your letter, I worry about your mental state, your confusion and despair, they are the food of those you call the cult of Q. Qwrarles is a demon that feeds on the hope of the people creating chaos in their mind and consuming little to little each one of their thoughts. Don’t let him catch you, don’t let him enter your mind, I know you have the strength to find your courage again and finish the mission that you have proposed.

I researched and moved contacts, an expedition ran into them a while ago while they were looking for archaeological remains in Dwaralav, the cultists have made the ruins of Genohav their base of operations, hidden with dark magic, it’s very possible that they are still there, but I warn you they are very dangerous, much more than you might expect, the ruins have been rounded by Void ones and Ghouls.

My friend, don’t go near that place, your best bet is to get strong people to accompany you and protect you in your journey. Help is already on the way, in the village of Kalamis in Saggadya they will be waiting for you, just wear your amethyst ring and they will recognize you, don’t mention this to anyone.

Keep strong my friend, stay alert and don’t lose your way.

With esteem

Ardulan

- What does it say? - Nom asks with great curiosity. - Is’t from your friend, right?

- Yes, it's him... I only told him the other time about what I went through in captivity, he has written to support me in my recovery.

- What a good friend.

- He also tells me that...

- What thing?

- Maybe it's a bad idea to follow the cult.

- Of course it's a bad idea!... that's why it's so fun!

Egios laughs a little and then invites him to continue, they go through the market where Egios buys fruits and some medicinal plants then they return to Charlie's house. Nom goes up to the room to visit Vicky, Egios continues to the room where there still are Eldwin and Charlie, he finds them reading a book about locksmithing, Egios approaches and quickly removes the book.

- What are you plotting?

- Calm yourself Egios - Eldwin says - we are not going to try anything against the box.

- Oh yeah? And why do you have this book then?

- Well, you saw what the cultists used in the abandoned house, why would you believe that when we got to their shelter things would be simpler? Even the guard hadn’t been able to open that house until you arrived.

- Ok...

- It is very likely that wherever they are, they have a security if not equal, superior to what they had in that house.

- I asked them to investigate - says Kathrinna who comes down from the stairs - what Eldwin says is true, we can not just depend on your skills now that we know the magic they can create.

- We can defeat their sorcerers, we can defeat their troops.

- Xelos is very good at that, you... despite having your armor you needed help to defeat them. What about the others?... besides we don’t know how many cultists there are in that place.

- Are we really prepared to face them? Aren’t we hurrying too much? Look at us, you say it yourself... we don’t have the strength to face them.

- Did I rescue you right? And we have the captain, and as Eldwin would say...

- First you have to know the enemy - says Eldwin - to be able to plan how to destroy them.

- First we must find them.

Egios and Kathrinna join Eldwin and Charlie in search of any knowledge that may be useful, Eldwin's books are full of knowledge but although he has read them many times, he usually gets lost in the details and can’t find concrete data that is worthwhile. Xelos investigates for its part in an adjoining room, so it goes until the night tells them it’s time to rest or they will be without enough energy for the next day's trip.

Egios sleeps on a mattress in the living room, the last letter of his friend finally arrived, despite not saying much he feels a relief to again hear from his great friend and not from that enigmatic character called Zeri. However, what his friend wrote is equal to what Zeri said, someone would be waiting in Sagaddya to support him. But what did it mean to support him? If he shouldn’t mention it, it was because it only suited him or maybe not even him. The thoughts flutter in his mind, disturb his sleep despite his efforts to rest without being able to reconcile opens his eyes for a moment, although his eyelids resist the effort, the darkness of the place is total and can only hear the snores of Charlie and the dream of the others. He closes his eyes again but a strange light filters through his eyelids, he looks up and sees Jeon standing in front of him, quickly moving backwards.

- Easy... easy Egios - says Jeon. - I'm not coming to hurt you.

- Do you want a truce? It bothered you what we did with your companions.

- Certainly my master was upset, it’s not easy to find sorcerers who join the cult, that's why I came to make you see the truth.

Egios grabs his dagger, which he always wears on his belt, and with a quick slash he tries to finish off Jeon, but his hand only pierces the wizard's body like a ghost.

- I told you to calm down... I'm not really here, in fact this is not your world.

Egios looks around, space is a combination between Charlie's house and his own home, with some elements of other inns where he has been.

- It’s a dream

- Your mind fills it with what it remembers, but I'm here... for your sake.

- I can’t escape, so tell me what you want.

- I want the box, any treasure belonging to my lord must be in his possession.

- You will never have the box.

- Ahhh... you will bring it to me, and you will open it for us, and then we will liberate you.

- You know I will not.

- Your world closes Egios, the shadow of betrayal chases you, you trust those you shouldn’t trust, the eye has marked you.

- Was it the same that you used with Yovun?

- Yovun knew what was to be done, he was clever and intelligent, but he couldn’t fulfill his mission because he was not as cunning and intelligent as you are.

- I will not give you the box.

- No... no, you get confused... I'm not asking you to give it to me for doing me a favor, I'll do it to you, we'll have the box sooner or later and many will die for it, but if you give it to me everything will end peacefully.

- You have lost your sorcerers, we have the guard on our side, how do you think this will end?

- The guard had problems with some Looze, tell me what they will do when we liberate an army of Voids in all the towns of the region.

Egios changes his look at the mention of the Voids, they are ancestral beings, soulless humanoids that feed by absorbing the souls of other mortals through their mouths, in faces devoid of eyes and thin bodies of dry skin. They fear the light and remain hidden in deep caverns, these were mentioned in the last letter of Ardulan.

- I see you know I'm telling the truth.

- You've... kidnapped all these people, just to attract the Voids... they were just baits.

- Foxy, you're really smart Egios.

- Actually, I really want to destroy you and anyone who is with you.

- Egios... I am giving you the opportunity to stop a war, a massacre, think of how many innocent people you will save with your actions, is it worth fighting for those you call friends? For all those lies? You know that no one is honest with you, that the world around you needs a change because it is destroying itself, the Guardians destroy it, we are subdued and it’s in your hands to take a step forward... take the box to the rock Fgorivul at the latest tomorrow night, only this way you will avoid destruction and death, do the right thing and don’t trust those who call you friend ...

The figure of Jeon soon vanishes while Egios enters into a state of confusion, he knows that the cultist has achieved his purpose, altering his mind, bringing those painful memories, instilling in his thought that idea of conspiracy, that everyone around him lie, as Yovun did, as Gal did, how many more things would be happening around without him even knowing, finally he opens his eyes, this time again at Charlie's house, his snoring, the breathing of Eldwin and Nom and a darkness that only breaks a faint moonlight that comes through the window, feels the need to calm down, stands up for a moment and walks looking for that light, observes the cold street and the stone buildings that stand up leaning one over the other, remember the words of Yovun, of Charlie, the night walks that they both saw of Kathrinna, was it real? The truth is that he had seen it in that cave where they found Vicky and Fiona. He adjusts his amethyst ring, takes a coat and cautiously goes out into the street.

The cold air quickly fills his lungs and begins to think that maybe it's not a good idea, what do him expect to find? Why do him believe more to a stranger, to a traitor, than to the one who risked her life for him, but it’s a thought that clouds his mind, spins incessantly, who is she really? He knows everything and in turn, knows nothing, a great story that no one can corroborate. Walk between the stones of the street and reach the corner, look everywhere, it's an empty world, only a couple of guards walk on patrol, return the step and notice a small alley behind Charlie's house, approaching carefully, he visualizes the entrance to the house, there is nobody nearby, he looks out towards the alley and can see two people talking, one of them, on his back, wears a red coat.
