“Never raise. . . with m—. . . again,”
Dwayne's hearing was faulty due to the amount of pain in his head, even his vision was beyond blurry. All he heard were snippets of urgent whispers around him as though they were submerged underwater barely over the incessant buzzing of his ears.
“. . .you live, you will know. . .prophecy.”
Silence.
“Dway—. . .—kay?”
Regardless of his condition, he was able to discern that the question was directed to him. Dwayne couldn't form a single word but managed to slightly move his jaw in an incoherent response, “Uguf.”
Even with his eyes open, all he saw was white light with occassional glimpses of green and black moving in and out of phase as if he were peering through a kaleidoscope.
“. . .Cours—. . .—im out,”
At the delicate touch of a hand Dwayne's entire body felt a jolt of static running through his entire nervous system and then hen, to his relief, he saw darkness.
