Bushdear was a rather wealthy village despite its notably small size. This was due to how conveniently close it was to Haiphen's capital, serving as a layover for people travelling from and to the Kingdom of Solace. As such, it had some of Haiphen's most desirable living conditions. One could easily guess the amount of favouritism shown to carriages bearing the crests of influential Kingdoms and Monarch, especially — of course — the Mizumi family. Which was why Granfedyu had to vigorously insist that they were not in need of any refreshments or reservations for the next week before the villagers even allowed them to enter the village, let alone have the carriage horses relieved of their duty.
