The sun had just risen over the island, casting a golden glow over the forest as the group of students made their way through the forest. They were panting and sweating, their faces etched with exhaustion and fear.
The night before had been brutal, with wolves prowling around their campsite and howling into the darkness. They had managed to fend them off, but not without sustaining some injuries.
"Guys, we need to keep moving," said Lyra, pushing past some dense foliage. "We can't afford to stop now."
"I know, but my leg is killing me," groaned Alex, wincing as he limped along.
"Here, let me take a look," said Akiho, kneeling down to examine his leg. "It's swollen, but it doesn't look too serious. We'll have to wrap it up and keep moving."
As they tended to Alex's leg, they suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes ahead of them. They froze, fear gripping their hearts as they wondered what could be lurking in the undergrowth.
