Everyone thinks they are dead.
Probably, well, the card said- Game Over. So, it was all over. The card was telling the truth. The game was really over.
But obviously, they aren't dead, but it's better for everyone to think that they are. It's not that they want to be kept alive, it's just that they can't die, not yet, at least.
The soldiers marched in with an air of authority, their polished armor gleaming under the flickering torchlight. The candidates were escorted before King Earynn, who sat upon his ornate throne, a smile playing on his lips.
"Your Majesty," they chorused, their voices echoing through the grand hall, as they bowed in unison before King Earynn, pledging their unwavering allegiance with a solemn oath to obey his every command until their last breath.
"Pleasure to see you all," he stated his eyes only focusing on that one particular candidate, "Especially, Lue Solane!"
