CHAPTER 6

I was taken back to the same room where I was kept the previous day, my eyes were now swell from crying and all I could do currently was sobbed.

The door clicks open, Alpha Dario walks in, he stood at the door, both his hands folded as he stares at me.

" Are you ready to embrace your true identity?"

" It not like you guys left me with a choice when you bit me"

" The bite is a gift"….

" It is not a gift! It is a curse, I'm cursed now can't you see it".

" Am not going to stand here and argue with a girl who just lost her boyfriend and best friend. Join me for dinner".

" Am not hungry"

" That is a terrible lie! Pull yourself together, I will be waiting at the dinning hall".

He exits the room, obviously not expecting a reply from me. I definitely was famished, I didn't even get to taste grandpa's garlic mashed potatoes and now my stomach was rumbling, but how was I supposed to find my way to the dinning hall.

I opened the door, this time it wasn't Locked. I was staring at a long hallway which was wider than most hallway, it was painted with Ashe while the tiles spark of lemon mixed with blue, there were several designed doors leading into rooms on both side, The paintings were sophisticated and impressive coupled with few art works hung on the war mostly about wolves, hunting, and the woods.

Walking past the hallway, I could see an open door where Alpha Dario sat on a large lavishly designed chair which, I assumed, was specifically made for him because the rest of the seats surrounding the large dinning table wasn't that sophisticated.

" You are here, have a sit"

He spoke while having a meal of filet Mignon and shrimps, the aroma was nothing like I could describe, it was mouth watering and was definitely inviting. A bottle of Lennox Madeira 1796 sat on the large glass table, it was an expensive wine and very rare.

" What do you do for a living"

I asked the moment I sat opposite him, he purses his lips, staring deeply at me, from the looks of things he was certainly not expecting that question?

" You still have a lot to learn, especially manners on how you talk to your Alpha"

" Am just wondering what you do to be able to afford such an expensive wine. My grandpa said he was the only one who could afford it in the whole of our town".

" And you believed him, the same way you believed he was not a wolf hunter, well good thing we are not in your town"

" Then what is this place?"

" Patience little wolf, one step at a time"

" What would you like to have?"

" What you are having!"

I couldn't tell if that was what I wanted to eat, Nathan always made sure I ate whatever he ate, and maybe that was just a habit for me.

He signals his maids who walk in carrying a tray of hot filet Mignon and shrimps, I could perceive red wine in it and I just couldn't wait to start gorging on them.

" I don't know if you would like it, but I like my steaks lightly cooked, that way I savor the taste longer"

His faces were deprived of any form of smile, his tone was deep, yet I enjoyed his company, I felt relax like have known him all my life.

" It alright, am not a picky eater"

" You can't stay in the pack house, it meant for the alpha's family, the beta, and few of his trusted men"

" Not like I understand most of what you just said, but okay, where do I get to stay?"

" How about staying with Mira for the main time while we find a suitable home for you, have spoken to her, and she is happy to accommodate you"

" Not like have got a choice, but I would rather not end up with another best friend"

" Then don't!!"

His tone was hash, he drops his fork and walks away, leaving me wondering if all werewolves have this Same mood swings.

The meal was delicious, soft, and crispy, I enjoyed every bit of it. And when I was done, Zane came to inform me that my box has been taken down to Mira's house.

" All your stuff has been moved to Mira's home, all you just need to do is follow me"

" So I don't eat all these delicious food again?"

" Mira is a good cook, she will make you more delicious meal that you would never want to leave her, she is a very nice girl"

He spoke proudly, and I could tell from his eyes that she meant something to him.

" That was the same thing I thought about my best friend Natalie"

" Humans are different, they betrayal each other, but werewolves don't betray their kind"

" I do hope so, because I don't think I can survive another betrayal"

I bit my lips, feeling frustrated with the thought of it.

" Aurelia! I hope you don't hold it against me for turning you into a werewolf?"

" No. Not at all. Your alpha says it a gift, I'm eagerly awaiting that gift".

I wink at him, walking behind him as I try to fasten my pace. There was this quick smile on his face that faded as quickly as it came.

Arriving at a bungalow painted red and designed with brick stones, the compound was surrounded with flowers, vegetables, and fruits.it was a beautiful garden filled with numerous apples and berries and I could hear voices speaking inside.

" She is a wolf hunter, how can you let her stay here and eat our food!!"

I could hear an elderly voice speak, I could tell she was angry while speaking about me.

" Mom! She is no longer a wolf hunter, she is one of us now, Alpha Dario has accepted her, why can't you".

" No matter what you think she is now, the blood still run in her vein, Alpha Dario was not even born when her kind slaughtered all of my family including your father, I will never ever welcome her into my home!!"

" Zane"

I called as his gaze turned to me, they were gentle and full of pity.

" Am sorry, Aurelia…."

" It okay, I just think I shouldn't be here"

" I know, I will speak to the alpha about some other arrangements, for now, you just have to be patient"

I heaved a sigh of frustration, just a day ago I was all excited about my date with Nathan and now am stuck between two worlds' who rejects me.

" It okay. Thanks".

" Aurelia!"

Mira's eyes lit up as she walks over to me.

" Am sorry you had to hear that, my mom just can't get over my father's death despite how long it been"

" It okay. I understand"

I faked a smile as she tugs her arm in-between mine like we've been friends for long.

" Come on let go inside!"

She announced without letting me say a word as she drags me into a large living room.

" Mira, I don't think I should be here"

" Because of my Mom? Relax, she will warm up to you Soon, that just how she is sporadically".

" But I think she has a point, I mean if my family would hide what they were to me, then Maybe they were horrible people"

" But you are not a bad person, this is fate way of showing you that"

" You don't know that! You just met me".

" Aurelia, if you don't like it here, I will speak to the Alpha about it"

Zane interrupted trying to ease my discomfort

"Thanks Zane"

" I will leave now, I will see both of you tomorrow at training"

" Sure. Aurelia, you wait here while I see him off"

Mira smile while she followed Zane behind.
