Chapter Thirty-Three: Under the Starry Sky And Over the Rushing River (Reko)

You're the reason I'm still alive.

It is nightfall by the time Reko arrives at the base of the hill. On the other side is the river he would stare at almost every night he wished to be alone until he discovered Felix had been doing the same whenever he found himself with nothing to do and needed a moment to relax.

They would mostly just sit in silence with no other sound than the river, breeze, and their own breathing, but sometimes they would talk in hushed tones. It would be those nights where Reko would speak the most. It would usually be about happy memories from the orphanage or how tough the training drills for the week or day were or would be. Nothing too meaningful.

But on this specific night, the last one they would have before the group confronted Grayson and Thilo, Reko wanted to have a meaningful conversation. He wanted to apologize for this behavior and actions after the White Cathedral burned down, and even everything before that.
