Newbie Butcher

VIRIDIAN CITY

River POV

Three weeks had passed since we had first arrived in the city. We found a tiny villa on the Viridian City's outskirts and made it our temporary home. In the end, I had to pay a little bit more for some solitude. I have to admit that the peaceful surrounding I was enjoying has truly helped me think things through a lot.

I get to train with Pichu in the vacant lot behind the villa, thanks to having my own area. The Mons group that hung around every morning was the only thing that initially concerned me. One time, I had to chase away some Pidgeys out of the room as they were already acting so comfortable like they own the place.

'Why were they gathering here though?' I wondered but paid no heed to it after thinking there was no harm done and no stolen items after I double checked. I chose to just shut the windows because it was a pain to clean the feathers.

It was disappointing that I couldn't open the window every morning to let fresh air in, but I still felt queasy at the notion of having my neck pricked as a morning greeting. Be safe rather than sorry. I've just grown accustomed to it; perhaps this is what I get for living next to a forest.

Pichu struggles with getting up in the morning. Before we head out for our morning exercise, I had to carry her to the kitchen to have some breakfast. For the past weeks, I had to focus her training on her stamina. Her thunder shocks were already on the mark and I thought that I had to take advantage of that by working with her stamina so that she would tire less. It would also be unwise to use it on some young wild Pokemon.

I did take advantage of the Mons loitering around the place. I had her spar with some Rattatas, Meowths and young Mankeys. Surprisingly, the Mankeys were a bit mild than I thought they'd be. I expected them to have more of that angst as I imagined them as little furballs of wrath.

I don't believe it was an unfair trade because I gave her training partners some fresh berries I got at the market as compensation. They even smiled and trilled as I patted their heads. I still thought it was strange, and the only thing I could think to explain their welcome was my gift.

Other than Thunder shock, Pichu had the moves Quick attack, Nasty Plot, Charm and Sweet kiss. Nasty plot was a move I considered her mastering after Quick attack but I still worry if her constant use of the move would change her personality. This wasn't like the games after all.

I had no doubt she'd be game to master it in combination of Sweet kiss or Charm as she was a bit quirky and naughty.

As much as I want to, I'd rather Pichu become used to being the one to take initiative. The only edge I now have is that trainers my age tend to be a little naive. So, until necessary, I want her to use move combinations to outwit her opponents without my directions.

Particularly in the wild, a trainer should keep their Pokemon's instincts. I've heard countless stories of trainers and their Pokémon getting wounded here and there as a result of their Pokémon becoming overly reliant on their calls. After all, a Sneasel wouldn't wait for a human to establish his pace before pursuing for a kill.

I think about how Pichu may use her moves to fit her personality as we go through the spars. If she could move more quickly than other Pokemon, perhaps she might end the fight without suffering any injuries. I didn't have a plan for such situation yet, but I'll attempt to figure it out later.

Being around Pokemon other than grass types was rewarding in and of itself. To cope with trainers later, I took notes on their behavior, move set, and anatomical structures. For instance, Pidgeys and Spearows were particularly vulnerable to skeleton injuries, which is why a tackle to the wings or damage to the keel might end a battle instantly or maybe render them permanently incapacitated and crippled.

In a practice battle, it was not recommended to use immature bird Pokemon. A small report could get you in hot water with the local Jennys or make you unpopular with the Joys. A mature Pidgey or a recently evolved Pidgeotto is capable of handling that kind of attention. It was amazing to watch how she handled aerial combat.

Rattatas, on the other hand, and their evolutions aim for the neck. I told Pichu to keep an eye out for her neck while she fought these rats. They occasionally instinctively nip at the potentially harmful location, even when they were friendly enough for us to spar.

Fortunately, Pichu is capable of keeping up with her speed and can face off against two of them simultaneously. I grimaced as I occasionally observed her rubbery skin covered in bite and scratch marks.

And as I have seen, watching the Mankeys spar was interesting to watch. Pichu didn't have the Taunt move, but she was still capable of making them angry with all her hand gestures and possible trash talks. Thankfully, she was able to deliver some shocks from a distance and was faster than them to gain distance. With an extra slice of berry or store-bought kibbles, I had to calm their temper.

She needs to engage in more combat with Butterfrees, Sentrets, and other Pokemon so I can study their behavior. It certainly helps because I can think of more strategies and am more aware of each Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses than I would be in that Bulbapedia.

Fortunately the Sentrets weren't making moves with the Rattatas. Honestly, they were a little close to my heart as several times the species have coincidentally saved me in the forest from those feral Raticates.

Cleaning the lawn wasn't as difficult as I had anticipated either. It took a few berries to reward the devoted Mons after I had several Grass-type Pokemon use Absorb on the grass roots to wither them out. And to top it off, I always have dependable security when I go out. No petty crook could avoid getting gang-banged by them.

Being able to connect with them was like a dream. They weren't stupid; in my previous life, I would have never been able to train a dog to reach that level of intellect. But even though I liked them a lot, I never really became interested in anyone, and I don't anticipate getting a new Pokemon anytime soon.

Other than training and lazing around, I was also spending my time surfing the Pokenet. I searched for OG characters like Cynthia, Red and Lance. They existed but some people like Red had different backgrounds that differed from their counterparts in the games.

Red for example, although still from Pallet Town, is a Senior Ranger and Ace Trainer working under the League. There wasn't much information about him aside from rumors that he has kid in Pallet, who I could only assume to be Ash Ketchum. He had stories of conflicts during his gym circuit with some gangs in Kanto but nowhere do I see it was Team Rocket.

The League probably had the news under wraps, and I doubt he clashed with Giovanni as he still is the Viridian leader, far from getting ousted.

Lance was recently declared the Indigo Champion a little more than five years ago. There was a lot of hidden information on his path to becoming a Champion other than trashing the Gyms and beating the Elite Four. Pryce, the current Mahogany Gym leader, who was the champion back then was his real stumble for the throne. But alas, his monstrous Dragonite still envoked beastly might and durability.

Additionally, there were information about where certain Pokemon species could be found. Some sightings of the Rhyhorn, Stantler and Donphan herd migration, which bounty hunters would swoon over for the chance to make a quick buck. The information may not be accurate, though, as some trolls share false information for amusement.

Donphan line, an especially protected Pokemon, are pure ground types that are usually found in grasslands and mountain areas in the middle of Johto but can also be found in Mount Silver. But like most Pokemon found in Mount Silver, the Donphans in the area were larger in comparison with their alpha of the herd exceeding to almost six to seven feet.

They are rare Pokemon to have because of their pack mentality combined with their respect for strength which requires the trainer to personally seek the herd for the right to gain a youngling of the group.

It was claimed that a poacher kidnapped a young Phanpy to be sold in the black market, hoping he was safe from the herd after reaching the city. The consequences of his actions cost the city thousands of lives, properties, businesses and high-rise buildings crumbling down from the devastating Roll outs the herd of Donphans used.

If it weren't for an Elder of a clan of Wataru that was in the city when this happened, Goldenrod City wouldn't have survived to this day or they might have still but barely. In the end, the Phanpy was rescued from the black market by a separate group of assumed rampaging female Donphans. There were some details I'd like to know more but the reposter GideonX never replied back.

Ever since that day, Pokemon Rangers keep constant look out for the herd keeping malicious poachers from approaching to avoid a similar tragedy like what happened that day.

I never thought Donphans could be like that. They weren't that threatening in the anime.

People could post or submit missions on the Pokenet via hunter app. This is a regulated bounty system to help companies or trainers mostly acquire different items, Pokemon or deliveries through legitimate means. It also means transactions of Pokemon considered endangered or of high risk were prohibited. 'There must be some ways those hunters do their illegal transactions though.'

I ordered three sets weight bracelets that I could use for training Pichu. It comes with a remote to adjust the weight. Nice.

Apparently, recipes for pokeblock production are sold too. That's convenient. I'd like to try experimenting with recipes of my own but that can wait. Recipes are pretty expensive and I had to submit some identification details for some confidential matters.

I purchased Oran berries in bulk so I could practice making it. They were cheap anyway and my mini fridge in the bag and the villa could help to maintain them fresh. I had a few Salac berries on hand and I intend to perfect making it into a pokeblock for Pichu.

For the Oran Pokeblocks, I guess I could use them for other wild Pokemon to bribe.

Regular animals exist in this universe too, just as I expected. I remembered in the anime, there were regular fishes that could be seen in the ocean. And they should exist because how could the Pokedex refer the Pokemon to them. Like Pikachu or Rattata for example, the mouse Pokemon, or Miltank the Milk Cow Pokemon.

And that was interesting in itself. Regular animals existed but they shared the plates as consumables with some Pokemon. 'Does this world energy work wonder in animals' body too?'

If I had to guess, maybe it did an amazing job to make significant improvement on their fertility and growth rate.

I didn't know if what we ate in the buffet were mixed pokemon dishes and honestly there was still a part of me who wanted to maintain the innocence of my childhood, but the Tauros steak I ate the last time didn't really help. It was awesome.

I've never tried making much effort in trying to learn different food recipes in my previous life. Fried fish, fried egg, or viand fresh from the can while pairing with rice were the usual when I was in college. Food bought from eateries work too.

I wasn't that lazy alright? A food taster is a huge job in itself too. Just that, back then it never really concerned me, I could just go back home and live like a king again. Oh I missed my Nanay's pork Adobo and Paksiw and the neighbor's special sisig and bicol express every fiesta.

So I tried to remember what ingredients my nanay used. I miss the food. My nanay, little sister and my dad. I miss my noisy dogs and Keeper, the cat. I miss home.

X

It was a lazy afternoon. Me and Pichu spent our time in a cozy Poke-café. It was adorable to watch Pichu gorge herself in a large bowl of ice cream and some pancakes. It still confuses me how she can finish that much food that was undeniably bigger than her.

After several visits to cafes, I learned that Pichu favored strawberry flavored desserts very much. Yet that didn't stop her from shamelessly claiming my chocolate cake. Seriously, I'd have scolded her if I wasn't so amused with her messy face.

Sometimes I hang around the Pokemon Center to listen to local happenings and rumors. I've heard that there were several cases of Pokemon stealing and burglary happening these days, not only in Viridian. Fortunately, the Jenny's were always swift in action.

Aside from that, I also asked some of the Joys on their free time some tips and tricks. It certainly helped me formulate my dietary plans for Pichu. The Joys were overly enthusiastic about the pleasure of giving Pokemons a massage.

It is known to aid in the recuperation of the majority of Pokemon. I do agree with it, and it will also strengthen my relationship with my Pokemon. Pichu wholeheartedly agrees because she never went to sleep without receiving a brief massage.

If I remember right, max happiness or something was the determining factor for their species to evolve. I wasn't that much in a hurry. In fact, I want her to stay a Pichu for as long as possible.

I think there are at least three Pokemon centers in the city. There was an afternoon that I'll never forget was when the city was congested with trainers from all over the region. It was when the Gym League circuit officially started.

It wasn't a rule of the league that you had to follow the traditional way of getting gym badges starting from the Boulder badge. But I guess it was just the thing. I could only imagine how bad the Pewter situation would be.

Truth be told, the Pokemon league encouraged this too. So that trainers form in groups when going inside the Viridian forest.

So that afternoon, while I was still chilling in the lounge, one trainer suggested in front of the crowd to hold some mini tournament for rookie trainers to decide the best rookie of the season. Boy did it receive enthusiastic reactions and replies.

Like a storm surge, all trainers emptied the center towards the training area of the establishment. I was only chilling like a villain when a certain rattata-looking youngster thought it was a smart idea to challenge me to a fight while making unnecessary remarks of my Pichu.

"I bet your puny mouse can't hold a candle against my ultimate Rattata" Remarked the kid. It wasn't like I got annoyed. Actually I was amused because usually this was how those young masters in xianxia novels acted before getting thrashed.

But Pichu didn't like it. If glares could kill, I'd have to bury the youngster. She wasn't having any of it so I had no choice but to teach the kid a lesson. He was walking money anyway. I opened my phone to start video recording.

"Pichu this will be your first trainer battle. Do it like how we practiced."

"Chuuu"

"This is a 1 on 1 battle between Trainer River from Viridian and Trainer Joey from Vermillion City. Each Trainer could only use one of their Pokemon. Ready? Fight." Announced by a volunteering trainer.

"Pichu, Set it up" I told my Pichu to start with Agility to gain speed. It was the only strategy for now that I've thought of her to take advantage of.

"Oh no you don't. Jet, use quick attack." Joey instructed his Rattata to catch up to Pichu and hit her but sucks for them, little Pichu has already gained momentum. "Pichu, agility and shocks from a distance". The Rattata couldn't even get a single hit from Pichu before getting fainted from two shots of thundershock.

Two agility was what I had Pichu use because I didn't think she could handle the strain for a third one. After the youngster's defeat that earned a smirk from Pichu, the little pandemonium only started from there.

Other trainers who thought I was a worthy trainer to challenge or my Pichu was getting tired from fighting challenged me one after the other.

And that was when I took advantage of the set-up I prepared for Pichu. Even after the sixth battle, her agility from the first round didn't completely lose its effect. When I start to notice she was losing the speed, I instructed her again to speed it up with agility.

I had her combine with Nasty Plots and Thunder shocks on some Pokemon who I thought would deal a huge damage on her like the Nidorino owned by a young trainer. Must be a handed out Nidorino from his family. If it was one from the wild, it wouldn't be as behave as I thought it'd be. The trainer wasn't confident ordering it around either and that cost him the fight.

Some Quick Attacks here and there for some trainers who owned soft looking Pokemon like Marill or Jigglypuff. The 33rd winning streak only ended after Pichu and another trainer's Poliwhirl both fainted, with Pichu getting tired and hit with double slaps and Pichu sending a retribution of thunder shocks unwilling to be bested by her opponent.

I ran towards Pichu and carried her in my arms.

"That was awesome Pichu, you did great. I knew you could do it" I told Pichu with a little scratch behind her ears. "Piiii"

The fight gained some cheers and awes and boos from the crowd because the last hit of thundershock wasn't something to underestimate either. In fact, the spectators expected the Poliwhirl to win the battle. Honestly, that thunder shock wasn't even Pichu's best. The several battles before has already significantly drained her amount of electricity.

But in the end, the match was satisfying. I was able to gauge the strength of Pichu. A lot of trainers came to congratulate us, some asking how I trained my Pichu, some asking for tips for their electric Pokemon. There were even some rich kids who asked how much it cost if I sell her or if I trade her.

I rejected the offer on the spot with a frown. I hurriedly carried Pichu to Nurse Joy to heal and check her condition.

While Pichu was being attended in the medical room, I closed my eyes and reviewed the battles. I took note of where I lacked attention or what should've been a better reaction.

After getting Pichu from the table and hearing from Nurse Joy that all Pichu needs is a good amount of rest, I instantly made a run for it. The trainers who saw me already called me the Newbie Butcher.

WTF? It isn't a nice title at all. In fact, it felt synonymous to being called a bully.

Actually I couldn't blame Pichu either. Who told me it was a good idea to teach Pichu the art of acting. My Pichu was literally the drama queen during the battles. After she finished a battle, she pretended to look weak and exhausted only to get challenged again, and beat the opponent again. This happened again and again and yet these hot blooded newbies were fooled easily realizing it too late, it was all just an acting.

I had no choice but to go home that day early or else I''ll be mobbed by those sore losers. I won several thousand pokedollars from my

33 wins but I felt as if I lost something important. Oh well, it wasn't my problem.

X

All that ruckus happened last week. After that I decided to be a little more lowkey on the side. I didn't want to attract attention that much in a territory of the Rockets. I still believe Viridian is a Rocket territory even after I haven't seen any of them myself.

I lay down on my bed with Pichu lying on my chest playing some mobile games on my phone. It was one of the moments I thought of my previous life and it was truly hard to have no one to share of my predicament. I couldn't trust any other human either.

I really miss my family, especially my little sister. I miss my drinking buddies. I miss the feeling of waking up every morning, without having to care much for what awaits for the future because I knew I had someone to rely on.

In my previous life, I was a graduating veterinary student. I guess the influence of the Pokemon franchise made that much impact on me. Pokemon was a major part of entertainment I had as a kid, and I had to finish studying to even play one.

It was a bit disheartening that I have no memories graduating and becoming a doctor. I don't think it won't really help that much given my current situation. But I really wanted that achievement. Though I don't have any plans becoming one or the counterpart profession of this world.

Lemme see. Before transmigrating to this world, the last of my activities were reading light novels or enjoying mukbang videos in YT. My last months in college really brought me to depression. The reason I was spending lots of days reading light novels was so that I could lie to myself and escape reality for a bit.

And now that I did escape, I don't regret it. But I hope I don't lose myself and forget who I was.

Pichu's POV

I looked at my trainer who looked sad.

This was the first time I saw my easy-going trainer so solemn. I was still a little girl, naive and playful for my own good I admit, but I wasn't that numb enough that I wouldn't be able to feel my trainer's mood. I could feel his helplessness and sadness.

"Piii Chu?" 'What's wrong?' I tossed the phone and snuggled closer to River.

"Don't worry Pichu, just thinking of some stuff. Thankfully, you're here by my side"

"Piiii" (っ◔◡◔)っ ❤

"Pichu, do you want to have your own name?"

"Pii?" 'Name?' I didn't feel much about getting named originally. But after seeing River getting so serious, I thought that maybe being named, I could feel more belongingness. Yes, I think I want a name.

"Chuu" 'Yes' I declared as I did a wiggle-butt dance.

And then River named me Diana.

X

River's POV

I thought of a name for Pichu.

I really struggled to come up with any more catchy, cute female Pokemon names. I suppose I couldn't just call her Zappy, Bolt, Sparky, or Boomachu. Any other nicknames I gave my Pokemon in the games that were similar? I think my Pichu would knock me out. In one fanfiction I read, the main character gave his Pikachu the moniker Fuckachu. That is Pokemon abuse man, though it was really funny.

But when he was around his larger brother Raichu, that Fuckachu behaved gangster-like. They attempted to rule Viridian City's "underworld". It was after when Team Rocket were no longer around in Kanto. Story was abandoned; the author likely grew tired of it. Sad.

I couldn't help but recall that fan fiction. I liked it because it wasn't dark. It was pure comedy.

I then thought of Wonder woman.

"How about Diana? It was the name of a powerful woman I once read before and a beautiful princess. Do you like it?" I suggested to Pichu. I thought it was a beautiful feminine name.

"Piiii" Pichu excitedly nodding. ❤(っ^▿^)

"Alright, from now on your name is Diana. My flashy and pretty Diana" ❤(ˆ‿ˆԅ)

"Chuu" (>‿◠)✌

Diana pleaded with me for another fairy tale story before we called it a day. It was the tale of Sudonocchio, a young pokemon who was prone to lying. I hoped that by telling this tale, I will be able to instill in her the negative habit of lying to her trainer. I definitely have some talent in manipulating narratives.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pichu woke me up early one morning with a tiny jolt of electricity. Diana, the energetic bundle, rubbed her stomach to show that she was hungry and gave me a pleading face. I couldn't help but find the drama queen amusing. I got into the bathroom for a shower to freshen up and prepare for a breakfast and training.

The training I prepared for the week while we stayed at home for Pichu was for accuracy and rapid head shots. I wanted to slowly turn the thundershock to a bolt but swift like a compress bundle of energy ready to finish the foe in one hit.

I discovered how Shock Wave operated in this manner. It's challenging to evade because the user either locks on the opponent or marks their electromagnetic signature. If I had no other option, I would get her one of those pricey TMs, but I suppose I'll have to see if she can sense and pick up a similar version first.

Now that I didn't have to worry about her power, I'll have to focus now on accuracy. I was thinking of a move that operates in a way that burns the insides or maybe damage the nervous system. In the future, we'll be travelling to a lot of wild areas where predators never lack. And as much as I hate to admit it, I was overly conscious of criminals and team rocket.

I was aware of their dangers. Similarly, even if I try to hide it, I acted differently from the natives of this world. I think that I'm just thinking too much but Kanto really is the most dangerous region at the moment.

The Chanseys in the Pokemon Center would occasionally approach me and offer me their hard-boiled eggs. I thought they were really sweet pokemon. Also, I was perplexed because it happened several times before Nurse Joy informed me that the Chansey line does this when they detect pain or sadness.

Didn't they detect happiness or something?

I didn't believe I was sad at the moment. Or perhaps I did. But I also believe it was because I acted strangely or unusually. And I'm worried that Nurse Joys feel the same way. And all of this was maybe unneeded attention to some people I don't want to associate with.

So in preparation for that, I wanted a fatal head shot thunder bolt move that never misses like shock wave.

Diana's initial attempt resulted in an explosion. It was strong yet slow that any smart pokemon could dodge unless asleep or paralyzed. Fortunately, I had been cautious and had directed Diana to fire the bolt towards a target some distance away from where we were standing. I instructed Diana to spend at least half the energy she used on her first attempt while detecting the object from various angles.

She got the gist of it fast. But it was really draining for her. The training lasted for two hours. It was far from over but at least there was some possibility for the move. Diana was a bit exhausted but it was obvious she's gotten better at control. If I could give an estimation for the progress, I'd say we were in our 5% for the expected move.

She was then left to play her favorite mobile game while I cleaned the area and prepared to practice making pokeblocks.

During lunch, I prepared bicol express, one of my favorite comfort food with lots of rice. I guess the flavor wasn't that much near from the original taste. I couldn't find some shrimp paste in the market. Maybe it wasn't a delicacy in this region? So I made some alternative ingredient which didn't come really close to it. Maybe next time.

Diana didn't like it. She didn't like the salty food. She loved licking the ketchup though, and Ash's Pikachu's favorite was ketchup too. Maybe that's something the Pichu line really loved?

The training of Diana and the other pokemon continued as planned throughout the week. I saw that the number of wild pokemon had increased. I almost panicked since wouldn't this already notify the Viridian authorities of a potential Wild pokemon raid? Was it just my paranoid ass? But there were no Ranger alerts either.

Diana was unconcerned. She was genuinely relieved that she suddenly had a lot more hitting dummies. Isn't she a little combative? Observing her, I noticed that she was improving her dodging and reaction. The Salac Berry experiment was working like a charm.

I took notes of her time finishing laps everyday so I knew she's progressing.

'I should definitely cease providing Salac Pokeblock for the time being and wait till her speed slows and then stagnates a little,' I reasoned.

I really couldn't think much for now what to do. Although I have registered as a trainer, I haven't applied for this league season yet. Should I visit the famous Professor Oak? It's troublesome alright. What would I even say?'

I thought of another idea though. Gary. How about staying in the Pokemon Center to camp and wait for Gary to appear. I imagine handing him his first defeat. The first battle ever in his trainer life would be getting his starter and other pokemon bullied by a Pichu. I wanted to bully Gary a little when I was a kid. I was Ash-like back then so I hated Gary's guts a little.

I immediately packed my clothes and other necessities preparing to head off to the Pokemon center.

"Diana, let's go to the Pokemon center and be a good big brother. For the Pokedex!"

"Chuuu" 'Lezgo'

X

River then went to the Pokemon Center after eating out in the eat-all-you-can restaurant. He was brutal even there. After checking in the center, he looked for trainers who could help him with his plan.

He saw three young looking bug catchers and told them instructions. After showing a picture of what could possibly be their rewards, their eyes changed and they looked at River as if he's their lord and savior.

Pokemon Center

It was two in the afternoon when an arrogant looking kid and his cheer leaders arrived in the Viridian Pokemon Center. Gary was very confident that day. He was the first to arrive in Viridian City among the batch of new trainers from Pallet town. On the way he caught a spearow, rattata and a pidgey.

He was supposed to mind his own business though when three messy looking fools walked towards him. They don't look like they were looking for a fight though. They're asking for a beating. They asked Gary if he was from Pallet town.

"What do you dugtrios want?" ( ≖.≖) Gary said, irritated.

'Dafuq did he just say?' (⊙.⊙(◉̃_᷅◉)⊙.⊙) The four nearly got into a brawl.

The three taunted Gary that before he passes through Viridian City, he at least beat a random newbie around. If he couldn't win, he'll promise a Pokemon egg to his opponent. If he did, then good for him.

That's the Gary FUCKING Oak they're messing. Before Gary could reject,

"He's probably not ready for it"

"Pallet town is the home of champions right? Their kids are probably not that great."

"I heard there was a star trainer this time, Ash Ketchum"

That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

That nearly made Gary scream. 'The fuck are you talking about? and how do you know Ash Ketchum?' He then fell for their schemes. He agreed to the bet then and there. The three bug catchers then "randomly" picked the trainer with a Pichu on his shoulder.

Three minutes later, Gary was massacred. His Pokemon couldn't even leave a scratch on the tiny Pichu yet his team was wrecked. His first ever Pokemon Battle was a disaster. River did not know what kind of domino effect he caused, but who cares right? What's important is that Gary now owes him a Pokemon egg, and sometime later Professor Oak's attention and gratitude possibly.

The cheerleaders were dumbfounded. The audience shocked then suddenly remembered the rumors of the newbie butcher. River quickly gave Gary his contact information if ever Gary gets an egg then was gone like the wind. Even the dugtrio looking catchers were nowhere to be found.

Years later, a legend will spread in the Viridian City that until to that day, the Newbie butcher was still hunting for newbies. But that's a story for another time.

Meanwhile back at River's villa, the group of Butterfrees gathered around River. They were promised for unlimited Pokemon food from a trainer that they recognize to be their trainers. The three young Bug catchers were already crying and mesmerized by the sight.

They're a little crazy alright? In the end, the three bug catchers got three butterfrees each. You have to note that these butterfrees aren't normal butterfrees in the wild. They were trained by River themselves, fed with goood quality Oran pokeblocks and soaked by a considerable amount of Viridian Force that River was unaware of.

May the Bug Tyrants rise.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Route 1

It was a fine sunny weekend.

Green grass swayed, pidgeys chirped, and strange insect sounds could be heard as Pichu and I strolled down the road into Pallet Town. Fortunately, my days after the battle with Gary were unremarkable, as observers would undoubtedly exclaim, "What battle, that was a one-sided slaughter, okay?"

The "battle" that should've been forgotten after a couple of days became the talk of the town. Even if it was one-sided, it should not garner that much attention right? No. Because for some reason, some motherfucker revealed that the newbie getting his ass kicked was the grandson of the widely renowned Professor Oak who's the leading figure in Pokemon research all over the world.

I swear someone was trying to pain a large target behind my back okay? It was the professor's attention I wanted not city's, alright? I couldn't help but let the topic cool down a little before going back so I decided to take a little vacation in Pallet Town.

The Oaks appear to be the sole owners of this fairly calm Pallet Town. This was wild land 60 years ago until it was purchased by Professor Oak's grandfather to cultivate and farm. It wasn't until Professor Oak became well-known and established his laboratory here that it became a town. The price and prerequisites for real estate and residency here are astronomically high, which is why the majority of the people here are descendants of either top elite trainers and rangers with tight ties to the Oaks.

This quiet and unassuming small town is known as the town of beginnings since it has given birth to several Indigo League champions, giving it the title of the town of Champions. It is guarded by a large number of champion-level Pokemon. Pallet town is known to be one of the safest places in the entire region, which is why not just the wealthy or prominent can live there.

Standing atop the hill, I could see less than a hundred houses in the flat land's central area. Professor Oak's laboratory lies in the eastern part of Pallet Town, where there are numerous bodies of water and hills. My Viridian Force sensed the auras of several enormous Pokemon as I walked along the road.

I'd probably pissed myself if I hadn't met those monsters in the Viridian Forest. Me and Pichu continued trekking for 20 minutes down the small road until we arrived at Pallet town's southern riverbank region.

Diana jumped from my shoulder to investigate the surroundings, looking for curiosity in anything that moved. I took the stuff from my hammer spaced bag and unloaded them. I got out my grill, fishing gear and bait, leaning chair, tents, and sleeping bags. I fished, sat, and waited in place after setting everything and prepared the camp. This is the what good life is.

It didn't take long for some fish to be hooked and collected in a bucket.

X

Diana proceeded farther into the woods, challenging one wild pokemon after another, while I was nodding off. The wild pokemon in Pallet Town were taken aback; how could such a small pokemon suddenly enter on its territory and challenge them?

They weren't used to this at all. There was not much competition in the woods here as it was abundant in resources. And the stronger Pokemon were more pacifists around here who wished to maintain the balance. So the young and inexperienced were easily beaten by the little mouse. 💪 (•︡_•)💪 The little mouse continued to challenge the stronger pokemon in the depths of the woods.

(҂◡̀_◡́)ᕤ 💪 (`▿´) 👊 They were bewildered though because the Pichu was accumulating wounds in its body and yet it was not backing down. What was it depending on?

When Diana felt the energy remaining from its body was just enough for it to return, it went back to its trainer tracing back its steps. River was startled as he saw Diana full of cuts, wounds and bruises. He panicked and tried to look for the culprit feeling a surge of anger. If he didn't see Diana smiling from ear to ear, he wouldn't realize that his Pichu was the one looking for trouble. He could only sigh while treating Pichu's wounds.

"Diana, please don't overdo it alright? I don't really want to see you coming back all bloodied. I'm still bothered by it okay? Even if you and I know I can treat wounds." I said, very concerned.

"Pichuuu" Sorryy ⁀⊙﹏☉⁀

"Just dont overdo it alright?" I could only give advice to my little Pokemon, while giving head pats.

"Chuuuuu" Pichu purred enjoying the head pats. But she was thinking about what its trainer said. 'Dont overdo it? So as long as I'm not very wounded, it's alright? Understood' she thought.

If I knew what it was thinking at the moment, I would be stunned and exclaim, "That is not what I mean, okay? Why are you so fierce?" Only Arceus knows when our pleasant misunderstandings will be resolved.

Unbeknownst to both of them, a gentle giant was observing them in secret. It tilted its head as it had no idea to what magical feeling it felt even from afar as the yellow mouse' wounds were healed. This was the first time it saw this.

It noticed that this small yellow fellow was much more feisty than the slightly fat yellow mouse that the old man gave to the noisy brat. But why was it docile in front of its human?

From its days of battling to following his trainer here to settle, the gentle giant has witnessed numerous exchanges between trainers and Pokemon. But it couldn't help but be intrigued. It has witnessed many stronger relationships formed over the years, bonds formed through blood, tears, sweat, love, struggle, hope, friendship, and numerous conflicts.

But, despite the fact that this human has apparently just been a trainer for a short period based on his combat aura, it has a partner with incredible fighting power for its age.

'Their bond is new but why does it felt that its they're inseperable. How did he do it?'

'If it were anyone else, a strong pokemon would never succumb to a weak trainer. It will be rambunctious and disobedient. How did this human accomplish it?'

If River could hear what it was thinking, would he think it was weird for mighty Pokemon to be this nosy?

The gentle giant could only continue to observe the duo. *sniff* *sniff*

"Why does it smell so good?" Owoooo? (⊙.⊙)
