Chapter 10.
Azriel glared into the mirror. He was satisfied with his looks. His sister went too far with the dressing. The princess will not be impressed.
"Do you know what her highness would look like?" Stryga sat on the couch. He brought out his boots and wore them. They had no idea who this enemy was. How will Azriel tame what he does not know?
"I don't know but she is not the type of woman you will hump" Azriel replied with a smile. The rest laughed at it.
"Maybe, I will. Who knows?" He stood up and said. Maybe the story about the princess was exaggerated. Since she's the centre of attraction. The reason why they were all gathered in the king's court, the people might want to make her special. That's why they told such stories about her.
"Good luck with the humping" Azriel walked to where he was and slapped his stomach. It was unexpected so Stryga let out a cry. He held to his stomach and sat down.
"This is going to be the best day of my life" Heather spoke for the first time. The dress was not what she wanted. The colour was not bright and she was grateful for that. There were no stones or gems attached to it. It was a normal gown meant for royal servants.
"Why?" Kielee asked. It was supposed to be the worst day of their lives. They were entering a dangerous web of lies. If anyone finds out the truth about them, it was going to be a disaster. Also, if Azriel falls for the princess, all will be lost.
"Because, they are finally getting what they deserve" She replied, bringing out her knives from the box. There, was her best instrument of peace. Heather put them under her dress.
"Alright, brothers and sisters" Azriel began. He was fully dressed now. He chose a black shirt and trousers to match. His brown boots were new. He got them from the market. The ones from the old man's box were worn out. "We will all go to the king's hall without creating drama. No one should suspect us, do you understand?"
They all turned and looked at Heather instead. She was the only one who would bring problems to them. She had a sharp tongue that could sting like a Scorpio.
Heather noticed that all eyes were on her. She knew what they meant "I won't create dramas, I promise."

It was time for the welcome party. My sister got ready while I sat in the comfort of my room reading one of the oldest books about genasi. They were beings created by nature's force. But, someone powerful…like a witch could make a genasi.
I opened the next page and my jaw dropped. The cool sweet breeze I enjoyed previously changed into an unknown heat. My heart skipped. The genasi created by a witch could live for a thousand years. They were seven times stronger than the ones created by nature.
I have never imagined that someone would like to create those monsters. They were faster than humans. Their ability to use magic makes us vulnerable in their presence. But, with the help of an Ash which was used to produce their first kind, we would be able to get rid of them.
My dry fingers trembled as I tried to open the next page. There were many types of genasi. I could not count them as my lips went numb. The water, air, winter and fire genasi. There were so many of them but none caught my eye as the wildfire genasi. A rare one that has not been produced.
I let out a sigh of relief and reached out for my cup on the table. The wine was still remaining. It saved me from the stress of going to get it from the other corner of the room. I was too gross in my book that I sent the maids away. My father will be angry if he finds out that I read such books.
I was glad to know that the witch had a failure. It was said that she tried to make wildfire genasi for years but it did not go well. The wildfire genasi possessed a lot of Powers. If the witch wanted to make them, I knew they were going to be very powerful. Maybe that's why God saved us all from the disaster she was planning.
The sounds of trumpet travelled upstairs and it managed to divert my attention. The princes and other status owners have arrived. My curiosity about the genasi vanished. I closed the book and placed it back on my shelf. It was time to meet the men of the world.
Just when I was about to open the door, I remembered father's warning. He warned me to stay off till evening when he will personally introduce me to the guests. I let go of the doorknob and leaned against the wall. I wanted to see the guests. How will I do it?
A knock came on the door interrupting my thoughts. I opened it and found my two personal maids Willow and Hope. They spoke about the ball.
"I thought you are not allowed to go there?" I asked.
"We stood behind the curtains and watched your highness," Willow said with her head bowed. Her blue dress matched her shoes. It gave her skin a striking background. "It is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen, my lady. The men are so handsome. The environment is Wonderful."
"Then let's go and see" I grabbed the hems of my dress and went out of the room. Being a princess was something I never wished for. It came to be without permission and unannounced "My peers are out there having fun while I'm locked indoors like a prisoner."
I kept on ranting and gritting my teeth like a carnivore. The music and voices of the guests made my heart leapt for joy. I could tell that they were having a lot of fun. I increased my pace and veered towards the door.
Hope rushed and opened it. I entered the room. The music became louder than ever. I sat on the chair beside a closed window and closed my eyes. Music heals the soul. I enjoyed it.
I was not satisfied. I wanted to see more from the party. I asked the maid to get me a veil. They did and I put it around my head and covered my face. No one was going to see me from up here. But if they look at this direction, the curtains will save me.
