Cheerleading?

"We'll be on our way."Jeremy said to the student and he left. After they were done eating, they stood up. "See you later." he said and pecked me before they left.

" I didn't know they play basketball." I said.

"Who doesn't know they are the best in basketball? I thought he's your boyfriend, you should know."Violet said rudely.

"Well I haven't seen them play ever since I came to this school, how am I supposed to know?" I said.

"Actually..." Regina chipped in. ".. they really had a tough time last year. They went to various competitions and won, so the coach wanted them to take the first five weeks of this session off. But I guess they're back in action." she explained and I nodded.

"They're so back and so are the cheerleaders."Violet said excitedly.

" Yeah, we are so back in action." Crystal said and gave her an high five.

"You should join us."Violet said.

"Cheerleading?" I asked.

"Yeah, even Regina is a cheerleader." she added.

"Well, I don't want to join you guys." I said.

"Why? Can't you dance and do some gymnastics?"Violet said and Crystal chuckled.

"I can dance and do gymnastics but I don't want to. It's a complete waste of time." I said. "Anyways, I'll be going to the library." I said and stood up.

" I'm coming with you."Regina said and stood up. Violet Snapped her fingers at Regina.

" Tell the other girls that we're back in action." she said.

"Ok."Regina said and we both walked out. "Why did you turn down the offer to be a cheerleader?" Regina asked.

"What's up with cheerleading? It's nothing special." I said.

"It makes you popular. You are lucky that they wanted you and not that you wanted to be a cheerleader." she said.

" Well as it is, I'm popular enough and I've got my books to read instead of cheerleading." I said.

"Kyla, I'm a member too, and I still read my books." she said and I sighed.

"Ok listen." I stopped walking and turned to her. "The truth is that, I don't trust Violet and neither do I trust Crystal. They might be up to something. I think Violet is still mad at me for being JeREMY's girlfriend. So I don't want to hang out with such people and take orders from them, cause I'm guessing they are the leaders." I said.

" Well yeah, they are the leaders, bossy leaders. They always want to be at the front and always placed me behind." she said and I sighed.

"Whatever. I'm heading to the library, go do what you're told." I smirked and walked but she grabbed my hand. "What?" I asked and she smiled.

"Thank you for earlier. I saw that Brian saw me as a friend." she said.

"I'm sure he thinks of you more than a friend." I said and she blushed.

" Did he say that?"he asked.

"No, but I'm sure about it." I said and left.

I went to the library and brought out my notes and textbooks. Everywhere was calm as usual, with few students reading. I started reading.

Soon I was transferring all what I've read into a book without looking at the textbook. Someone sat opposite me. I raise my head to see a sweating Jeremy, in a red and blue basketball uniform. He looked cute on it.

"I've been looking for you everywhere."he said, removing the sweat from his forehead.

"I've been here." I said.

"Yeah, I see that." He said smiling.

"I never knew the school engaged in sports." I said.

"Which school doesn't engage in sports? Talk more of a prestigious school like this one."he said.

"This is the first time I'm seeing a sporting activity." I said.

"Anyways.. Violet told me you refused to be among the cheerleaders." he said and I rolled my eyes.

"So?" I asked.

"Why?"he asked.

"I have my reasons." I said.

"But I'm a member of the basketball team, the team leader actually, and I would like for you to be a cheerleader so I will always see your beautiful face."he said.

" Awwn, so sweet, but no." I said and he chuckled.

" Come on sweetie, please." I said.

"No.. But lucky you, I'll be watching when you play."I said.

"If you want me to let this go then promise that you won't miss any game." I said.

"I promise."I said.

" Alright, come on. I want to give you something."he said and stood up.

"What?" I asked.

"Just come with me." he said and I put my books in my bag and stood up. He held my hand and we walked out of the library. We walked to a different hallway. This one had only blue lockers.

"Where is this?" I asked.

"The basketball hallway." he said and we walked to a locker and he opened it.

"I'm guessing this is your locker." I said.

" Yes." he said and brought out a basketball uniform, just like the one he wore.

"Put this on whenever we have a game." he said and I took it. I looked at the front a basketball was drawn on it. I turned to the back and it had J at the top and a huge 9.

"Okay." I folded it into my bag.

"Do you want to see the court?"he asked. We are on free period, what could be wrong if I spent it with my boyfriend.

"Sure."I said and he took me to the court and I was wowed by it. It was so big.

"Wow."I said, staring at the place. They were so many seats around it. "I didn't know there was a place like this in the school." I said.

"How would you? The only place you know is the library and the classroom." he said teasing me and I laughed.

" You forgot the locker room and the cafeteria." I said.

" Does that count?"he asked.

"Yeah duh." I said and dropped my bag on the floor. "Why don't you teach me how to play." I said and walked to him. He smiled and took a ball.

"Do this."He said and threw the ball into the net.

"That's easy." I said and picked up the ball and threw it, but it didn't enter the net.

"I thought you said it was easy."

"It is.. I'm gonna try again."I said and picked the ball. I carefully threw it but it still didn't enter into it. "Shit." I said and he laughed and walked to me. He picked up the ball and he gave it to me. He stood behind me and held my hands from behind. He raised my hands a little.
