Miss know-it-all.

I remember my stay at the orphanage, sometimes I would be yelled at for the slightest thing. And it reminds me of my parents death somehow. Probably because there were lots of yellings that day.

Why would Jeremy do this to me? Why would he yell at me? Ugh. I threw my bag angrily. I heard a knock on my door.

"Dear, are you alright? Do you want me to call your parents?" Lorraine asked and I gasped. I don't want her to call my parents, they'll get worried. I quickly dried my tears and walked to the door. I opened it and smiled at her.

" I'm fine Lorraine, I'm just so stressed out." I lied.

"Ok, but do come down for dinner." she said and I nodded. She went away. I had my bath and wore a short black gown, actually my nightdress. I walked downstairs to the dining room and ate. After eating, I went to living room and watch a Nickelodeon show. I heard a car driving in. I walked to the window and saw that it was Jeremy's car.

What was he doing here?

I went back to my seat and focus my attention on the TV. I heard the doorbell. One of the house helps opened the door. I knew it was Jeremy but I didn't want to look at him. He walked to me but my eyes were still on the TV. He held my hands.

"Babe, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I am to be blamed for everything." he said but I remained quiet. "Babe please talk to me. I didn't intend hurting your feelings. I'm so sorry." he said and I looked at him.

JEREMY'S P.O.V

"You know what your problem is?" she asked rhetorically. "You like jumping into series of conclusions whether they are real or not. You don't bother to make enquiries." she said.

"Yes, yes I know that now. I'm so sorry. I guess I listen too much about what people say." I said.

"Why do you do that? You just accused me of neglecting you when I'm dying to spend time with you because you're the busy one. It's so unfair." she said and I sat close to her. I cupped her cheeks in my hands.

"I'm sorry baby." I said. "I've learnt from my mistakes now... Will you forgive me?" I asked, peering into her eyes. She stared at me for some time and she hissed.

"Fine." she said and looked away.

"What?" I asked.

"I said fine, I've forgiven you." she said and I smiled.

"Thank you so much." I said and embraced her. She placed her hands around me. We refrained and she brushed my hair with her fingers.

"I also admits that I read a lot when we are together. So I'm going to stop." she said.

"No babe, you shouldn't stop reading because of me." I said and she smiled.

" I don't mean I'll stop reading my books entirely, I mean, when we are together, I won't let it get in the way."she said.

"Oh."I said as I understood what she meant. "Well I've been putting what you said into practice." I said and leaned back on the sofa.

"What's that?" she asked as our fingers entangled.

"About the practice makes perfect thing." I said.

"You mean you've been reading your books? Like everyday?" she asked in surprise.

"Kinda, though it's just one subject for a day." I said.

"Wow, that's so wonderful babe. It doesn't matter how much you can read yet, it's good that you're trying your Best. I'm sure before this session will come to an end, you'll be able to read three subjects a day." she said and I gasped.

"What? No way. It will take a lot of my time." I said and she laughed.

"It won't." she said.

"It will. I'm as busy as a bee." I said.

" Really? You are forgetting what I told you about, in economics." she said and I tried to remember.

"The term is pre...prefer..."

"Scale of preference."she helped me out.

"Yeah that." I said. "Reading is hard work." I said.

"But playing basketball isn't?" she said.

"Nope, not at all." I said and she laughed shortly.

"The reason you are saying that is because you've had a long time in practicing basketball than in reading. Just continue in it and you'll be okay with it. And I'm so proud of you. My boyfriend is an handsome and intelligent guy." she said and I smiled, staring at her admiringly.

"You always hit the right spot in my heart." I said and she smiled sweetly.

"Ok, let me ask you a question..what subjects do you love most?" She asked.

"The subjects I love most?" I asked and she nodded. I thought about it shortly. "Oh, if I had to choose the subjects I love most, I'll choose physics." I said.

"Physics." she said.

"Yeah and mathematics." I said.

"Wow, that's nice. Why do you like them?"she asked.

"Mathematics is so easy to learn. It's got aids to solving them."I said.

"Those aids are called formulas." she said.

"Yeah, formula. It's really easy. Once you are able to know and understand the formulas, then you'll be able to solve the problems. Physics requires the same technique in some aspects. So I love easy things." I said and she giggled.

"Good for you. I see an engineer in you." she said.

"How?"I asked.

"Never mind. Well, I personally think mathematics is hard." she said and I looked at her in doubt.

"You're kidding me right?" I asked.

"I'm not, seriously. It's hard for me to comprehend most times."she said.

"But you are like, Miss know-it-all. You're like Brian. That dude knows every subject there is, even in the Arts. He's a genius." I said.

"Point of correction, I don't know it all." she said.

"That is hard to believe. So what's your favourite subject?" I asked.

"I love chemistry and biology." she said.

"Oh, yes. Biology seems pretty interesting to me, but it has a lot of words." I said.

"Yeah, maybe that's why you prefer mathematics. It doesn't have lots of words." she said.

"Exactly." I said and we both laughed. I glanced at my wristwatch, it was late. "Cutie, I have to get going." I said.

"Really? Do you have to?"she asked, pouting like a baby. I smiled.

"Yeah, mum and dad would be worried." I said and stood up. She stood up also and placed her hands around me. We walked out to my car.

"Tomorrow is the game right?" she asked.

" Yeah, you'll be watching right?" I asked.

"Of course, go team J." she said, raising her right fist up. I smiled.

"I promise I'll win for you, and then, we'll go out on a romantic date."I said and she blushed.

"Okay, can't wait." she said and I kissed her.

"I'll see you tomorrow. Should I pick you up?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said sharply.

"Alright, see you tomorrow." I said and kissed her again before entering the car.

"Bye baby."she said, waving at me. I drove home, happy that we were in good terms.
