Doubts

"Don't worry about that, brother Li! The sect master told me to help you solve this problem on his behalf. Even if I kill this guy here, no one is going to bother me."

Nangong Xu said politely, while Ning Jing nodded her head a bit enthusiastically.

"No No! There's no need to kill him. Just make sure that he doesn't come looking for trouble, and that will be enough."

Li Ping said he was a bit sweaty at the words of choice this little brother was using.

"Also! Who is the sect master that you are talking about, little brother?"

Li Ping asked, as he had already connected some dots, as Ning Jing and this guy already knew each other.

"You are being stupid, big brother! It's obviously your best friend and my brother, hehe! He is, even more, bigger 'immortal' than me." Ning Jing interrupted Nangong Xu, who was about to reply.

"Oh!" Li Ping thought for a moment, but his thoughts are completely chaotic right now.

Ning Jing moved closer to Yi Ran as she noticed Li Ping staring blankly somewhere.

"Big sister! You are truly gorgeous. Can I be friends with you?"

Ning Jing slowly whispered to Yi Ran, who was also fully concentrated on her. She also deduced from their conversation that this girl is Ning Qi's younger sister.

But she didn't understand why or how they had suddenly become abnormal. She simply assumed Ning Qi was an ordinary man who was hardworking and protective. However, it appears that there is more to that man than she is aware of, which adds a mysterious element.

"Oh! Little sister, I'm Yi Ran. I'm a good friend of your brother, Ning Qi. Of course, I would love to become friends with you too." Yi Ran held her hand out with a slight smile.

She was a bit curious about how Ning Qi knew she was in trouble and sent someone to help her. Also, she felt a bit bad as he didn't come by himself, and what's tying him up when his best friend is in a pinch?

"Woah! Are you by chance the 'secret lover' of my brother?" Ning Jing shouted a bit loudly, making Li Ping come back to reality from all those random thoughts in his head.

"Yeah! They are both seeing each other..." Jia Li exclaimed when she saw this "strong" little girl. She had never heard of such a thing being possible for normal humans. She felt it was good to have such a strong girl as their friend.

Yi Ran glared at her, but Li Ping also nodded his head at Ning Jing, who was looking at him for confirmation. But he also gave a sneak peek at Wen Fen, as he knows her pretty well too.

"Big Sister-" Just as she was about to say something, Wen Fen came forward and gave a sharp kick at Kuang Pei's hand, which immediately bent into an abnormal position as he directly fainted from the pain.

Ning Jing also released her hand in surprise but felt a bit troubled as she knew what was probably going on in her best friend's mind.

"Alright, Big Brother! We are getting late for the classes. We will come to see you some other time." Wen Fen said as she dragged Ning Jing away.

After taking five or six steps, she looked back for a moment and gave an apologetic gesture with a head nod, as though she regretted her sudden actions. Then they proceeded without looking back.

Ning Jing simply waved her hand at Yi Ran and Li Ping as she let her drag, even though she is way too strong for Wen Fen now.

Nangong Xu, on the other hand, simply watched everything happening with many reactions flashing on his face. He then looked at Yi Ran with a bit more respect, as this woman may become the 'mistress' in the future.

Just after they were gone, two police Jeeps came to the location. They quickly examined the bodies that appeared to be dead or had fainted, followed by the group of four.

"You all better come with us to the police station obediently!"

While the remaining three officers held their guns out, pointing at them, one of the middle-aged police officers said.

Nangong Xu simply turned his back on them without any reply.

"You three, please go inside first! You don't have to worry about them. Sect master will explain it to you all later."

Nangong Xu said this to them before turning back without waiting for their reply.

He then picked up Kuang Pei's body as though he were picking up a rag doll as he made his way to the police cars.

"Also! Don't worry about this guy. I'll make certain that he never bothers you again. Please don't call the sect master now, as he is probably dealing with something very important."

Nangong Xu said as he walked to the police again.

"Be careful, little brother! I will come to the police station with a lawyer quickly." Li Ping still said that is the minimum that they can do right now.

"Hello, officers! Can you please put those guns down for now? I am a good friend of your deputy chief, and your police department has no right to deal with us from..."

Nangong Xu said, as he released a bit of pressure on the middle-aged officer, who looked to be their leader.

From what Nangong learned from Ning Qi, those at the captain level had at least heard of the martial arts world, even if they didn't meet one in person.

"Martial artist?" That middle-aged officer quickly lowered his gun as he felt a bit of pressure coming from this man. He never met with any of them, but he is trained on how to deal with such situations.

Nangong Xu nodded his head, and that officer quickly took his mobile out and called the deputy chief for confirmation. He can't decide on such things even if he knows the rules, especially when so many people are present as witnesses.

Soon his call got connected, and he explained the situation before giving the mobile to Nangong Xu.

"Hello, Deputy Wang! This is Nangong Xu from the Taohua sect. I hope that I don't need to give any explanation regarding this..." Nangong Xu replied, tossing the phone back to the middle-aged officer.

On the other side, Deputy Wang, who was sitting seriously in his chair as he thought about how to deal with this mess, quickly stood up from his chair when he heard those words from Nangang Xu. A bit of sweat quickly formed on his forehead.

"Hello! Mr. Nangong Xu... I-" He quickly responded with a tone that was even more polite than he had ever sounded.

"Ah? Deputy Wang... It's me, Huang! That gentleman already tossed the mobile back to me."

That middle-aged officer said something a bit awkwardly when he heard such a polite voice from this grumpy man. It's made him even more dumbfounded as to who the heck they are dealing with.

"Oh! Alright, Captain Huang... Don't try anything funny with that gentleman, or else even if you are all dead, the government will just make sure to give your families some compensation, but that gentleman will be absolutely fine. So, just don't bother to stop him or point your guns at him. I will explain the remaining details after you come back... Right now, just calm down the public there before coming back."

Deputy Wang said all of that before disconnecting the call. But Captain Huang, on the other hand, sweated at how this deputy Wang phrased his words to express this guy's capability.

"Lower your guns and let this Mister go! Thanks for holding back, Mister Xu." Officer Huang shouted at his subordinates first, then thanked Nangong Xu for confusing them. But they still did as he told them, as this captain of theirs is also a bit of a bad-tempered person.

"Alright, Officer Huang! Thanks for such peaceful cooperation. Also, please make sure to not bother my friends there... They are very important to our sect." Nangong Xu gestured to the three of them, who were looking at him with concern.

Officer Huang nodded his head, as he just wanted this guy to go away from here quickly. He also looked at the three of them to make sure to remember their faces so that he could either avoid them or help them when they were in need.

Nangong Xu then looked back at the three of them. He waved his hand, to which they also subconsciously responded back with a wave, before he ran away at a very fast speed with Kuang Pei in his hand, under the doubtful eyes of the crowd that gathered after the police came, Li Ping's group, and the police.

He didn't use his full speed because it would have resulted in an even bigger shock. He ran at a speed that was faster than a normal human could, but not by much.

This created a mystery for him, as some in the crowd began to speculate about his identity as a member of the special forces, and some even speculated that this guy might be a "real" martial artist.
