Chapter 38
I could feel eyes everywhere watching us, especially my two closest friends. Despite knowing that, I tried hard not to feel affected by their looks and stood quickly from my seat. I heard gasps from them as I grabbed her wrist and dragged her towards the pantry. I locked the door so no one could come in.
“I don’t think it’s even a coincidence why you’re here.” I said as I turned around frantically to face her. Her roguish smirk was steady on her face, head held high, a hand on her hip. “What are you doing here?” I repeated while approaching her closer.
"I came here to do a little business."
I just look at her steadily.
"Well, don't look at me like that."
I shrug. "I don't know. I just find it hard to believe you're doing just a little business."
She laughs. "Of course, I am. What do you expect?"
I raise a brow.
