Walking into my boutique, I was met with gasps and wide eyes when my staff looked at the man beside me, his arm around my waist.
"This way." I took Dylan's hand and led him towards my office while he looked around.
"Damn, you've got a nice place here." He said and I smiled as my P.A approached me with a smile.
"Thanks. This is Abigail, my personal assistant. Abigail, this is-"
"Dylan White." She breathed out with wide eyes when Dylan threw her his famous fuck-boy smirk and I rolled my eyes.
Same old.
"Yes, he's him. He's here to visit today." I said and she nodded, snapping out of her trance and looking at me.
"Oh, alright. Are you two...?" She trailed off as both our eyes widened and we both shook our heads with a chuckle.
"He's my best friend's older brother. And kind of my best friend too." I said smiling when Dylan nodded.
He'd be six feet under if he made a move on me.
Adam would probably make sure of that.
"Alright. Would you like anything?" She said but I shook my head.
"No thank you, just let me know when our guests arrive." I told her and she nodded before giving Dylan one last glance before walking away with a sigh.
"Get's 'em every single time." He said smirking when I rolled my eyes and went inside my office.
"You want to stay here or look around?" I put my bag down on the table when he shrugged.
"Show me around your place. I want to see how famous you've gotten." He said and I chuckled before leading him down and showing him around while the staff stared at him shamelessly, even the men.
Couldn't blame them though, he was a famous player. Both literally and figuratively. He was a famous hockey player and had made quite a name for himself.
"So? How'd you like this place so far?" I asked after showing him everything.
"Everything's amazing Bells, I'm proud of you." He crushed me in one of his big brotherly hugs while I chuckled.
"Aw, looks like Dylan's going soft." I cooed when he scowled but smiled nonetheless, flicking my nose.
"Don't get used to it." He said and I grinned before Abigail came to me.
"They're here Ms. Edward." She said and I nodded, turning to Dylan.
"I've got some people to take care of, will you be fine on your own for an hour or so? We'll go to Adam's office then." I told him and he nodded.
"Yeah, I'm cool. Go ahead and do your magic and if you need any help or my charm, just holler for help." He said winking before heading up to my office while I met with the important guests, spending a good hour or two with them.
When they finally left, I breathed a sigh of relief and so did everyone else.
"That went well, don't you think?" Abigail said excited and I nodded.
"Seems like it. Hopefully they'll give us a good review." I said biting my lip.
"They will, this place is absolutely amazing." She said and I smiled.
"Thanks Abigail." I said gratefully and looked at my watch, standing up straighter.
"Well, I've got to be at the office now. You'll take care of the place, yes?" I asked and she nodded.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure everything's running smoothly. You can go ahead." She said and I nodded.
"Thanks. I'll go get Dylan." I went up to my office where Dylan was slumped on my swivel chair, playing a game on his phone. He smiled when he saw me, getting up and putting his phone in his pocket.
"Are we leaving? How was your meeting?" He asked when I grinned.
"It went really well. Let's just hope for the best now." I said.
"I wouldn't worry too much about it Bells, you're really talented. You'll get there, don't worry." He said and I nodded.
"Thanks D. Let's go, yeah?" I picked up my bag and my phone and laptop while he grabbed the keys and we went to my car, getting in and he opened the roof again.
"Again?" I said when he shrugged.
"You've spoiled me darling." He said and I chuckled as we drove off towards Adam's office.
We reached in about twenty minutes since there wasn't much traffic, thankfully. Dylan parked the car and offered me his arm which I took with a grin before we went inside with arm in arm, stares immediately thrown our way.
"Own 'em darling." Dylan referred to the people watching and I nodded, feeling confident as we walked into the elevator before heading up to the top floor.
Little did we know the storm waiting for us up there.
- A D A M - T H O R N E -
I sighed for the tenth time in that meeting when Liam cleared his throat, my attention snapping to him.
"What do you think Mr. Thorne?" He asked as I mulled over my words.
What do I think? I've got a sudden desire to see my girl, that's what I think.
What the fuck were they talking about again?
"Mr Thorne?" Lucas called out to me cautiously, noticing my absent minded state.
"He'll let you know in a while." Lucas told all the board members who nodded before filing out of the room.
"How many more of these meetings Lucas?" I asked coldly while he looked through his phone.
"Just four more Mr. Thorne. The next one is in half an hour with Lance Edward, then you have one with James Charles and then with the marketing team here. Your last meeting is with the shareholders and investors of the company." He said and I nodded, running my hands over my face and getting up from my seat.
Fucking four more.
"I'll be in my office." I said and walked over to my office, people stopping in their tracks when they saw me, some staring shamelessly while others simply looked away reminded me of he power I had over them.
And yet, I craved something entirely different.
Her.
I slumped down on my seat in my office and tugged at my tie before opening up my laptop and checking the recent documents that needed my attention and yet I couldn't look at them for more than five minutes.
Groaning, I grabbed my phone, my fingers hovering over her contact as I held back the urge to call her other her sweet voice on repeat.
I feel like a clingy boyfriend who needs constant attention.
Instantly, memories of this morning came rushing to my head, her moaning my name and I felt the heat rush down and cursed.
"Fucking hell, this is not the time." I gritted out, adjusting myself in my seat when my phone pinged with a notification.
'Please check your socials Mr. Thorne so we may proceed accordingly.'
The message read from my PR team and I frowned, immediately opened my phone, I opened the internet when I was bombarded with images of my girl.
A smile instantly lit up my face as I watched her beautiful smile and glimmering blue eyes in the phone, all until I saw the person next to her.
Who the fuck is this?
My eyes went to the headline, a frown marring my features as I skimmed through the various articles.
'New Boyfriend? Isabelle Edward seems to be on a boyfriend spree.'
'Heiress Isabelle Edward spotted with Dylan White at Café and then at her Boutique.'
'Moving on already? Looks like our golden girl has found her next target.'
Anger simmered within me as I clutched the phone tighter in my hands, and I could see was red.
White. Why does that name sound familiar?
"Lucas, come in here." I said into the intercom and not even a moment later Lucas came in, clearly flustered and panicked and I figured he must have seen the pictures.
"Who the fuck is Dylan White?" I seethed when he gulped before showing me his iPad after typing something on it.
"Dylan White is the famous hockey player, sir." He showed me various articles on the guy and I frowned, now remembering where I'd seen him before.
"Well why the fuck is he with my girlfriend?" I gritted out.
"I-I'm not sure sir, they could just be friends, you know how the media escalates things." He said and I took a deep breath to calm myself down as I looked through the photos once more.
Friends, of course, they could be friends.
I tried to calm myself down but then my blood boiled when I saw her pecking his cheek and his arm around her while he kissed her forehead and ten they were both hugging closely in the next photo.
Too close than I fucking liked.
Lucas' phone rang suddenly, and he picked it up, looking at me thoughtfully before saying something and putting it back in his pocket.
"Mr. Thorne, Lance Edward is here with his brothers for the meting." He said.
"Take them to the meeting room." I said and he nodded before going out of my office while my fists clenched shut as I tried to control myself.
I'm sure she must have an explanation for everything.
But it better be a good fucking explanation.
Walking towards the meeting room after trying to calm myself down, I shook hands with the three brothers as we settled down and started discussing the latest project we were doing together and new strategies to catch the people laundering the money.
"Mr. Thorne?" Lucas looked at me from his phone after we were nearly two hours into the meeting and looked at me nervously.
"Uh... Ms. Edward is here to see you. She's waiting in your office." He said and I felt all the anger come back all over again as I shot out of my seat and marched to my office, people clearing my way immediately when they noticed I was pissed.
Pissed? I was fucking livid.
Throwing the door open, I didn't get to register anything as two arms were thrown around my neck, and automatically my own arms wrapped around her waist on instinct.
I buried my face in her neck, breathing in her comforting vanilla scent and kissed her neck, hearing her giggle softly.
Shit, I'm fucked.
"I missed you." I whispered into her ear when she sighed.
"You saw me in the morning, Adam." She stated pulling away with a big smile and I couldn't help the one that formed on my face as well.
God, I love this woman to death.
"I know, I still missed you." I leaned down towards her lips but she pulled away, making me frown before taking my hand and leading me to someone.
"Adam, I'd like you to meet someone." She said excited and when I saw the man's face, I swear all I could think of was punching him till he wouldn't even recognize himself.
"Dylan White, Belle's friend." He said holding out his hand. I stared at it for a while before looking at him coldly and taking his hand in a firm grip.
"Adam Thorne, Isabelle's boyfriend." I emphasized, but his grin only grew wider at the threat as he looked between me and my girl.
"You've scored quite a man Bells." He chuckled pulling his hand away while I glared daggers at him.
"I know, he's amazing." She leaned her head on my shoulder, a smile pulling on my lips at her words and my arm instantly wrapped around her shoulders, pulling her closer to me.
"Your brothers are here." I told her and both of them perked up.
"They are?" Both asked at the same time and I tried my best not to show my annoyance on my face before kissing her forehead.
"They're in the meeting room." I told her.
"Can I see them? It's been ages since we last saw each other." Dylan looked at us when I called Lucas in.
"Yes, Mr. Thorne?" He asked, looking between the three of us with alarm.
"Take this gentleman to the meeting room where Lance Edward is." I gritted out and he nodded and led Dylan out, leaving me and my girl alone, finally.
I sighed, running a hand over my face when her hand cupped my cheek and she looked at me with those beautiful big blue eyes.
"Adam? Is everything alright? Are you feeling well?" She touched my forehead when I took her hand, glancing at my ring on her finger with satisfaction coursing through my veins.
She was mine.
"I'm fine. You mind telling me who the fuck that guy was?" I quipped and she frowned.
"Dylan? He's a friend. Why are you-..." She trailed off, something like realization crossing her features before a big, gorgeous smile took over her face and she chuckled, shaking her head.
"You're jealous." She stated and I glared at her when she laughed harder.
"Oh my god, you're jealous of him!" She exclaimed when I grunted in displeasure.
"Yes, I'm fucking jealous of him. You know why? I'll show you." I grabbed her arm and pulled her to my desk, making her sit on top of it as I pulled out my phone and handed it to her, letting her look through the pictures, her eyebrows furrowing.
"What's all this? This is from the morning when we were at the café." She looked at the heading, her lips pursing in annoyance when I took the phone form her before she could read anything else.
"Hey, I was reading that!" She tried reaching for my phone but I pulled it away from her reach when she slumped her shoulders and sighed.
"I had no idea Adam, I'm so sorry." She wrapped her arms around me while I stood between her legs, wrapping my own arms around her while she sighed into my embrace.
"Can you get rid of them, please?" She said in a small voice.
Already done.
"Anything for you baby." I said softly and pulled away to text the PR team to clear the air and get rid of the photos.
"Done." I said and put the phone back in my pocket, my arms going around her waist and hers around my neck as we looked into each other's eyes.
"You want to tell me who he is now?" I asked with a clenched jaw and she smiled slightly before nodding.
"Dylan is Taylor's older brother, and like a brother and best friend to me as well." She said and I felt a weight lift off my shoulders as I pecked her lips.
"I still don't like him." I said when she pouted.
"But I do." She said as I brushed my lips across hers, noting her blushing cheeks and smirked.
"Don't you like me too?" I questioned, our lips only a few inches apart when she smiled.
"We're way past just liking each other, don't you think?" She said and I felt my heart skip a beat at her words.
Could she love me?
"Mmhm. I don't like you." I said when she frowned.
"You don't?" You asked with a pout when I chuckled, pressing my lips to her softly and kissing her while she kissed me back.
"No." I answered against her lips and heard her whine that made my smirk widen.
"I love you. More than anything." I whispered before crashing my lips onto hers.
She sighed into the kiss, her hands playing with my hair while I pulled her body closer to mine, swiping my tongue over her lips.
She parted her lips to let my tongue enter as I explored her mouth, tasting every inch that had me fucking addicted to her.
"I love you." I whispered into the kiss, watching her smile widen as I waited for the words to fall out of her lips, even though I said I would wait for her, I couldn't help but feel dull and deflated that she might not feel he same way for me and could leave me.
No, she wouldn't do that, she promised.
Pushing my invasive thoughts aside, I kissed her harder, letting her know who she belonged to, my fingers digging into her sides as her back arched into me, our bodies flushed together as a moan left her lips.
I felt alive when I was with her, a low growl erupting in the back of my throat just by kissing her when someone cleared their throats and she pushed me away suddenly, making me stagger back a step as both our heads whipped to the door.
"Lance." I said unimpressed, glancing at her other two brothers and her friend staring at us with their mouths agape.
"I've been scarred." Arthur exclaimed with is hand on his heart while Tristan shook his head in disgust and Lance just pursed his lips.
"Ya'll fuck in here?" Dylan suddenly spoke up and all heads snapped to him and I saw my girl's red and flushed face as she tried to look away and fix her hair and clothes before getting off my desk.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea.
"We came to see you, Isabelle. Seems like you were a bit... occupied." Lance forced the words out while Dylan cackled at him.
"God, your reactions were priceless." He said grinning and I felt something like satisfaction in me at the fact that he saw us kissing the life out of each other so if he had any ideas, he can go fuck himself.
"Just wanted to tell you to be at the club by 8:30 p.m. And don't forget the lens." Lance said clearing his throat.
"A-alright." She choked out as I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me which didn't go unnoticed by the men in front of us.
"We best get going going now. See you later Adam." Lance said ad I nodded as they all shook hands with me and hugged their sister.
When Dylan came forward to hug her, I pulled her back into me, noticing his grin and the smirks on her brother's faces who were clearly enjoying my torture.
Fucking idiots.
"Adam!" She stumbled back into my chest while I glared at the guy who raised his hands up in surrender.
"I'm assuming your boyfriend isn't too fond of me, so I'll settle on a wave for now." He waved at her while Tristan and Arthur snorted from behind him.
"He's a jealous bitch, this one." Tristan said and I glared daggers at him.
"Shut the fuck up." I gritted out while they chuckled at my misery.
"But I don't think anybody's boyfriend would be found of you, Dylan. Come on before he murders you with his glare, he's famous for that." Arthur pulled at his arm while I rolled my eyes at their antics as they all left my office.
"Famous for killing people with your glare? You're so heartless Adam." Rose smacked my chest playfully but I caught her hand and kissed it affectionately, smiling at her.
"Not for you though." I said when she smiled, pecking my cheek.
"And I love that." She said as my heart beat faster at her words.
Close enough, at least.
There was no way I'd let her leave me. I'd keep her with me even if it meant I'd have to tie her to my bed.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea.
But she was mine whether she liked it or not, and there no way in hell anyone could change that.
I'd make sure of it.
