A month has passed, we were getting dressed up, makeup done and hair styled; My best friend, Amelia handed me the curler as she parted my hair, my other best friend, Ashley was doing my makeup at the same time. I felt like I was going to tear up

"I wish my dad and mom were here for this."

Ashley fixed the red lipstick that had gotten smear on the side of my mouth

"Honey, they are here."

Amelia put down the curler

"You have Connor's father to walk you dear."

Lily ran in with her curly light brown hair flowing down her shoulders

"Mommy!"

I looked into the mirror at her

"Lily where's Jesse?"

She pouted

"He's with the boys."

Amelia grabbed my hair, adjusted it and threw it on my shoulders

"You look hot Kayla."

Ashley finished up my makeup

"You really want to do this?"

I smiled

"Yes, where's Jazzmin?"

Amelia laughed

"Probably eating pie somewhere."

Amelia gently placed the tiara on my head and adjusted it to fit precisely. I stood up, Ashley zipped up my dress and helped me put on my shoes. I looked down at the floor

"Here we go."

Jazzmin walked in eating a cookie

"Get your butts out there and get these two hitched."

I smirked at her

"Make us sound like a trailer hitch or some shit Jazz."

The girl's went out to stand across from the groomsmen, Amelia stared at Connor's best friend, Joey; she gave him a quick smile and looked away as the music began. I walked out with Connor's dad; as we walked down the aisle I noticed Hope sitting in the back. I paid my attention on Connor who was smiling and almost in tears; everyone stared at me as I approached the alter, Lily stood in between Connor and I. He whispered

"You look beautiful."

I gave him a quick smile, before the vows and I dos were said. I stood nervously looking at Connor and looking at Lily. Connor grabbed my hand

"Kayla, I love you so much I'd give you the world if I could; you are the most beautiful girl I ever met. I promise to take care of you in sickness and in health, to protect you and our daughter as long as I'm breathing, I promise to not ever disappoint you again, I love you."

I began to tear up but quickly wiped my tears before my makeup ran

"Connor, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me; you always were there when things got bad and were there to cheer me up when I lost someone, I just hope I don't lose you too. You and our daughter are my world that I can't ever forget about; and I can't wait to spend my life with you."

Connor's other best friend, Lonnie handed him the box with the rings; Connor opened the box and pulled out a beautiful wedding band. The priest asked Connor

"Do you Connor, take Kayla to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Connor grabbed my left hand and slid on the beautiful ring

"I do."

I grabbed Connor's ring, the priest asked me

"Do you Kayla take Connor to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

I smiled and put it on his finger slowly

"I do."

The priest said

"You may kiss the bride."

Connor smiled and kissed me in front of everyone. After everyone headed outside to the reception, I walked up to Hope

"Of all days you show up, why did it have to be this one?"

She smirked

"Hi to you too Kayla, thought I'd see my best friend get married."

I scoffed

"You're not my best friend traitor."

She looked at Connor

"Guess you win right? A kid and married, I say he's yours now."

I got angry

"Why are you really here?"

She smirked

"I just told you."

Ashley and Amelia walked up

"Hey when are you coming out? We're waiting to hear your announcement."

Hope looked them up and down

"Ew... they are who you replaced me with?"

Ashley snapped

"You got a problem?"

Amelia laughed

"Geez who invited the sour ass?"

Connor and Joey walked over

"Everything okay here?"

Amelia smiled at Joey

"Yeah we're fine."

Hope started flirting with Connor

"Hey Connor."

He looked at her

"Why are you here?"

She smiled sweetly at him

"Can't see my best man get married to the skank."

I ran at her to hit her when Joey grabbed me

"Chill, no need to be rash here."

Ashley grabbed my arm, Amelia followed

"Let's get away from this slut."

Connor and Joey followed us out to the huge open field filled with tables and chairs with a huge clear lake behind it; Amelia walked beside Joey, laughing and talking. Connor grabbed my hand, as we walked to the crowd of people dancing and eating, the wind blew softly through my hair. Connor's dad approached me

"Kayla... welcome to the family."

I looked at him awkwardly and pushed myself to say something

"Thank you sir."

He gave me a professional smile and walked away; Connor grabbed my other hand

"What's wrong my wife?"

I could feel a smile slowly coming across my face and my cheeks heat up; my stomach dropped hearing my wife. I smiled

"Just thinking about everything."

He pulled me into his perfectly toned chest

"You aren't rethinking this now are you?"

I laughed

"No, I just think about everything that has happened since I met you."

He smiled

"You didn't think you'd ever be able to be with me."

I stood quietly looking at the ground, he lifted my head with his hand

"Kayla, it's okay... I thought I'd have to run away with you just to be able to do this."

He picked me up in his arms and kissed me as I wrapped my legs around his waist. I couldn't help smiling while he kissed me. We walked over to the tables and sat down; Amelia stood up

"Give us your toast Mr. and Mrs. Andrews."

Connor stood, grabbed my hand and walked to the center of the tables; he raised his glass

"Kayla, my wife; I fell in love with you the instant I met you, I apologize it took me so long to tell you and come around, I should've sooner but everything we've been through together made us stronger."

Connor picked up Lily as she ran up to him. I laughed

"Connor, you were a pain in the ass when I first met you but honestly it was attractive how you picked on me and called me princess. You have always been protective and caring even when I wasn't, I love you."

The photographer came, took pictures of us as a family, we celebrated and had a good time with everyone. When everyone began to leave, Connor, Lily and I held hands, laid out by the big lake and looked up at the blue, cloudy sky, admiring its beautiful view until the sunset. Lily stood up and jumped on Connor

"Daddy!"

I sat up and laughed, she ran to me and kissed me on my cheek

"I love you mommy."

She gave me her cute, sweet little smile; she jumped at Connor giving him a kiss on his cheek

"I love you daddy!"

Lily stood up and ran to chase after a rabbit, Connor laughed

"I love her so much."

I watched her chase the bunny

"I do too, she's such a sweetheart."

He exhaled

"We need to talk."

I looked at him with concern

"What?"

He rubbed his forehead and exhaled

"I have to go back for a while, my dad needs me."

I stared at him for a bit; trying to understand why he had to

"Why?"

He frowned

"Kayla, if I told you I wouldn't be protecting you."

I got upset

"You don't need to protect me now."

He looked down

"I need to go, tonight."

I looked down

"Okay."

He pulled me in for a hug

"I'll be okay, remember I love you girls."

Later that evening, he left to the airport and headed home with his dad.
