Token - II

"I don't think it is going to be easy for you to free yourself from me, lord husband," she hadn't meant to say those words, but the wine had loosened her tongue. "Not with all these important people suddenly realizing how politically beneficial our marriage is. How it nicely balances out the royal family. How wonderful a pawn you'd make."

Her eyes are touched with a hint of moisture as she seeks out his face.

"That's what you think too? Isn't it? You think I made a political move?" She moves closer, peering into his eyes. "You think the same way Yong does."

The small movement of his thumb makes her aware that his hand is still cradling her face. 

"What does Yong think?"

Seol blinks. Seo had never referred to Yong by his name before, it had always been either "his grace", Dongunmama or something of the sort. He presses on, before she had worked herself around that surprise. 

"And what makes you think he knows me better than you do?"
