The start but actually the continuation

Only three years left until my school career ends. To be honest, it has been a long journey. At times, I thought I couldn't make it. But with all the difficulties I faced, I still survived and kept my sanity. I just need to hang in there for three more years and I'll be able to graduate. It will be tough, but its not like I'm not used to this.

If I expressed this thought of mine to any normal person, they would think I'm simply struggling with school life and want to get it over with. It's normal for teenagers to have these thoughts after all. But I'm afraid its not as customary as that.

Laying on my bed intending to sleep, I thought about how my high school life is going to be. It actually got me quite nervous. Or did it? I'm not exactly sure. Good thing I never thought about this in summer. If I would have, sleeping would be like climbing Mount Everest.

Let's just go to sleep.

I woke up the moment my alarm bell rang. I was still sleepy due to lack of sleep last night, but who cares. If I don't pay attention to it, I can go about my day normally. If nothing crazy happens of course.

It's a good sunny morning. A really bright and encouraging weather. I head out to school after going about my daily routine, which is brushing my teeth, consuming breakfast and wearing my uniform for school. I usually say goodbye to her, but she's not home today for some reason.

I go to a Catholic school. The reason being they provide most of my needs. Be it food, clothing, etc. It wasn't easy to get into that school, of course. The entrance exams were at a higher level than the normal knowledge of an average ninth grader. You also needed to have a special qualification, which a lot of teenagers weren't associated with. Basically, St. Michael Catholic high school is not your average school.

On my way to school, I saw a bunch of students from the same school as me. Seeing them brought back a distant memory of my friends. In elementary school, I did have loyal and nice friends. When all the crazy stuff started to happen, I saw them die most of the times. So I figured the only way that they could be safe is that I never get involved with them again. I portrayed behaviors that would make them resent me and it totally worked. As a result, I didn't have friends after that. I did have specific relationships with other beings, but it wasn't as close as being friends. I hope I can change that in this new environment. The kids back in middle school were normal so it was hard to blend in with them. But here they are like me. This is a good chance to make friends. I'll try my best.

Oh, one of the students started flying. Hm, I think it was advised in our school rule book that no being should display their abilities in the presence of humans or beings with understanding, but without power. So this is clearly going against the rules. Why is he doing that?

"Hey Kyle, you should come down. You know we can't go around using our powers out in the open like this."

"Shut up Wrenley! What the hell can a bunch of feeble humans do? I want them to see and fear me like I always have dreamed!"

Wow, so there were peo- no, young beings like this that want to taste fear that bad, huh? Look at how well society has developed. Your dreams are coming true, sis.

"Just let him be up there, girl! it's no prob."

"Jeez, you always say that, Hazel. Be on my side for ones."

"Hah, no frickin' way."

What a bunch of well balanced friends. It seems they have known each other for a long time, according to this Wrenley girl.

The more I listened, the more I got envious. So I just backed out and took a shortcut.

I needed to pass some dark corners while going to school via the shortcut I now. But hey, it's not like this is my first time in the dark like this. Good thing I'm used to being alone in the dark, otherwise I would have been shacking like a leaf.

"Huh? What is this?" I mumbled.

I had walked for two minutes on the shortcut rout and had stumbled upon a rather horrifying scene.

A corpse was tossed to the floor in a violent way, seeing how much blood was splattered all around the small alleyway. The body was mutilated beyond recognition. If I wanted to reveal their gender, I had to inspect them real closely. The site of it would truly have a horrible affect on a normal human being. But for me, this occurrence was quite normal. So normal it was actually painful...

Then some sort of substance landed itself on my shoulder and hair.

"Damn, I just washed my hair and uniform last night."

I looked up and saw a entity present above me, holding onto the both sides of the alleyway and staring at me with bad intentions.

"Oh, it's an oni."

How rare, a Japanese demon lurking around in north America? I guess different beings appearing around Earth is slowly becoming common. What are the exorcists doing? they don't seem to be doing much, that's totally true.

The oni started to stretch it's long hands out to me, hoping to kill me in one crush of a hand, but I quickly ducked the attack and started to run.

I don't want to relive this day over some demon. What a normal human like me can do but relive this? It's better for people who are specialized in killing demons to take over. Even if I had stayed, it would take a lot of time just to ware it down and so I would be late to school. And that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid in the first day of high school.

It started chasing me at first, but then stopped because I had made it out of the alleyway. Yes, crisis averted.

"Now let's peacefully make our way to school."

after a few minutes, I finally reached the school. It was big, four floors high. even had a big gymnasium. Guess I'm really lucky to have gotten excepted to this school. Great, now I owe a certain someone a thank you.

Well, let's start my high school life. Hopefully I won't get into unnecessary trouble here. Hopefully.
