Chapter 130: Bloodshed II
...........
Some force akin to golden lightning erupted from his foot upon contact with Yamato, releasing such immense pressure it sent her deep into the ground... Haoshoku or Conqueror Haki.
Days passed before Onigashima Island had any visitor, and the visitor wasn't a visitor, but the beast pirates coming back from their expedition.
As one of the most powerful pirate crews in the world, the Beasts Pirates possess a fleet of pirate ships. Among them are a series of ships with scorpion figureheads, dark armored ships, and relatively small ships.
Then there were some special ships, three that stand out, a fairly large pirate ship, with its most noticeable trait being its mammoth head figurehead.
Another was a vessel that appears to be far more intricate than the Mammoth, containing elements of both a traditional galleon and a more modernized battleship.
The ship contains a large tower along with multiple sets of turrets. The central sail is inscribed with the word Queen, while a pair of smaller sails on either side contain the crew's jolly roger.
Lastly, there was a dark metallic ship, brimming with radiance, its figurehead being a black metallic skull. It has a pair of black sails on either side, looking like wings from afar.
All the ships without question have the beast pirates' Jolly Roger, which consists of a skull placed centrally above four intersected crossbones.
The skull is leaner than the traditional shape, mildly frowning based on its narrowed eye sockets, has upward-curving horns, and is further flanked left and right by two long rectangles that are slightly bent into outward-facing arcs, set behind the horns and crossbones.
There was, however, one other ship, but it seemed to be slower than the rest, lagging behind, probably because of its size, so massive it would even dwarf Seizon No Hono!
The thing was colossal, and its figured head was that of a dragon, a dragon with several curved horns.
"C-Call the General!"
"Y-you call him!!"
"W... How?"
"I... What happened??!"
"This..."
Chaos surged in the crew, and they didn't need to call their Governer General, Kaido.
No, the loud battle horns that went off were able to awaken the sleeping beast, battle horns sounding from the three special ships.
The beast's steps were heard by his crew. In fact, the ship shook due to his sheer existence, his grunts drove chills down his crew's spines, knowing his erratic nature.
Whatever sleepiness the beast had instantly vanished upon the visage of Onigashima, his base or what was left of it anyway... It was in ruins, it was entirely ruined.
No, in ruins doesn't do the scenery justice... Half of the Island was missing. It was simply nowhere to be seen, only the cracks of the remaining half were left, telling a story.
The ship shook again. No, it almost sank as the beast leaped up, his roar reverberating far and wide, just like the destruction caused by his fall upon the Island, creating a crater noticeable from afar.
"Oh, yo!" The beast lied eyes upon the man who spoke with a happy smile, happiness from seeing him, not something someone should feel seeing the beast's dark expression.
Yovan was resting his back against a large rock formation, a hand of feathers was on standby not far from him with a large piece of cooked meat.
Not far from him were a few other feather hands, working hard on cooking a few other pieces of meat.
Yovan was shirtless, looking a bit messy, his long golden hair seeming especially messed up, but the person resting her head on his lap was even more messed up, Yamato.
"Mm? Yo! I'm gonna sleep some more," She even mimicked the way Yovan speaks, closing her eyes again. That's how much they spoke for the last few days, by fists and words.
She was no longer resting her head on his lap as a pillow of feathers took his place, Yovan instead appearing right before the mad beast, "You mad?"
The scene almost looked funny because while Yovan was a giant, reaching 9 feet in height, the beast Kaido was in a league of his own, dwarfing Yovan by far at a height of 23,3 feet!
Kaido was imposing alright, with muscles so condensed they almost looked to be on the brink of erupting with sheer power, two long horns speaking to the beast he is.
Right of Kaidou's defined abs is his only scar: a massive, recessed X-shape. That and a tattoo of dull-red segments resembling reptilian scales, individually bordered in orange, going from Kaidou's left pectoral down the front of his left arm, ending in correspondence to the wrist with a white traditionally shaped skull on the lower forearm.
"By the way, Yovan Night, the Stranger, I heard you were looking for me? Well, here I am, hope I made you mad enoy..."
Yeah, Yovan didn't get to finish his words, not as his skull shook and he found himself rambling through the rock formation at the sheer force of Kaido's punch.
"Woro Worororororororo!! Wororororo!" Strangely, Kaido's loud odd laughter was heard although it was reeking of anger and killing intent, "Someone actually dared! You dared! Wororororo!"
"Yahahah Yahahahaha, like wow! Yahah, I felt that, phew!" Yovan joined him in laughter as he found himself out of the wreckage of rocks, a wide grin on his pale face.
He walked up to Kaido again with slow steps, lightly caressing his bruised head, but licking his lips, "It wasn't too bad, I assume you can do better."
If Kaido's outrageously massive form slows him down in any way, he didn't show it. In fact, he was able to vanish from Yovan's sight for a split second.
Another punch, this one coated in Haki so dense it shook the air around it, sparkling with black and purple lightning. The punch was in fact so dangerous that Yovan used a veil of hardened feathers to stop it.
Was the veil of darkness able to stop it? The feathers disintegrated into nothingness, leaving nothing behind, not even Yovan's body because he had to teleport away.
"Isn't that like too much? How about a little warm-up first?" Yovan asked with furrowed brows, the beast was very disrespectful, so he totally ignored the enemy's plight, naturally.
Yovan scattered again, evading another punch that left the Island in chaos, "Let me try," He murmured as he appeared behind Kaido, delivering a punch of his own.
His hand was clenched into a fist, inky with Haki, flickering with golden lightning, enclosed by a vibrating dark sphere of pure condensed Hasshoken.
Kaido didn't, almost like he willingly chose to receive the punch, and his reaction was... Shock. He was no longer standing there but found himself diving through a different rock formation.
That rock formation would crumble under the weight of a simple leap of his, appearing before Yovan like nothing ever happened.
However, there was surprise on his face, especially as he eyed the dark cracks in space left behind by Yovan's punch.
Although there was no obvious injury or even mark on Kaido's skin, Yovan was nodding to himself, "Beautifully done."
"You... You have the old man's Devil Fruit? No, that's not how his Devil Fruits works..." Kaido's furry seemingly vanished, taking its place was wonder and confusion.
But indeed, Yovan's Hasshoken is very similar to the powers of the strongest man in the world, the Whitebeard. That power is what allowed him to attack Kaido inside out.
"I am here for a battle," That's all Yovan had to say as he walked up to Kaido, standing only a few feet from him, a smile on his face speaking to his excitement.
His manners were ignorantly disrespectful on top of the fact that he destroyed the entire Island, Kaido's base as a result of his battle with Yamato, so furry easily overwhelmed Kaido yet again.
The two were suddenly inches apart, their punches less than an inch apart, both reeking of Haoshoku Haki.
The sound of cracking was heard, not just from Hasshoken but also from Yovan's hardened hand getting obliterated, specifically his bones.
But as if oblivious to that fact, Yovan leaped forward again, punching with that same hand, and Kaido reciprocated.
The sound of something grinding and crumbling was heard, but Yovan was still capable of freely controlling his hand.
He transformed into his crow form, avoiding a punch coming upon his head. He definitely can not allow a full-power punch from Kaido from colliding with his head, that'd mean death.
He appeared again, his other hand was clenched into a fist, punching Kaido's stomach, but the latter remained unmoved, grasping Yovan's hand in sought of breaking it.
Just as he started to crush Yovan's hand, the latter scattered, appearing a split second later, his punch already connecting with Kaido's head.
It thundered as Kaido roared, not due to Yovan's punch but as a signal for the incoming lightning, a bolt of lightning that struck him like on the back, not something he could react you.
It was, however, something that he can endure but it paralyzed him for less than a split second, enough time for someone like Kaido to rain a thundering punch upon Yovan.
The punch sought to kill. It sought Yovan's head, yet it found itself nailed to his chest. While he wasn't able to move his body, he was able to control his shroud of feathers to move his body, barely so.
However, he should've been able to scatter, yet he didn't... Why? Is it because his Observation Haki is so advanced that he can accurately pinpoint which attacks can kill him?
He did deem the punch incapable of killing him, but very much capable of fulfilling his true purpose in coming here, not fully but it was a step forward.
