Chapter 135: Immovable Wills I
...........
Yovan offered to help him out, but only if he performs one last service, and it was one last service indeed because what just happened confirmed Yovan to be Apollo.
Shiryu wasn't to be trusted, Yovan was sure, and if he knew about his identity as Apollo, he would've certainly negotiated with the Marines to let him go.
However, Yovan made sure minimal news about the Pantheon reaches the Impel Down among other things just to make sure Shiryu doesn't even think of breaking the deal.
That included using the Pantheon's influence to stealthily feed Shiryu some information in the form of normal prisoners speaking to each other.
That information would slowly brew brighter in Shiryu's brain, influencing him to follow the deal.
Shiryu's invisibility was only as effective as one's observation Haki allows it to be.
That's why he can't be too close to those with enough strength or try to sneak away, Hannyabal ad Magellan would certainly sense him if he came too close.
There was no battle, there were only flames surrounding a certain area, not only distorting the sound coming from within but also keeping Shiryu from leaving.
That and it masked what was happening inside, such as the feathers acting as a barrier. The flames would only allow the water to swallow the area, that's as far as the battle went.
His screams were heard by none. He was seen by none. The Marines wouldn't even believe he's still in the Impel Down after all this time.
He is, after all, a Devil Fruit user, so once the seawater engulfed him, he lost all control over his body, basically becoming paralyzed.
If that wasn't enough, a spark of golden flames engulfed the body, erasing it from existence, all the while, Apollo flew away within an embryo of flames, flames so hot it evaporated all the water around him.
And soon enough, the embryo of flames simply burned away, leaving nothing behind, not even Apollo or any feathers at all.
Time passed and less than four months are left before the end of the Countdown. The Marines experienced another period of unrest. The Impel Down became a joke, a place everyone can break into.
Of course, that's not the case, but that's how pirates felt. It's that easy to cause unrest throughout the world, and why the Marines can not show any signs of weakness.
Even one mistake from the Marines can bring about fear. Even one loss would rail the pirates up to raid and pillage. The Marines carry quite the burden on their shoulders.
"Yo!" Yovan found himself in Amazon Lily, an Island located in the Calm Belt adjacent to Paradise, ruled by none other than Boa Hancock.
And well, she wasn't alone. There were two other individuals beside her, in the palace and Yovan naturally allowed himself in.
"Apple, nice," Yovan remarked as he picked himself one, taking a bite before sitting beside her, and she didn't seem surprised at his arrival, "How have you been?"
"Perfect as an Emperor should be," Hancock remarked calmly, keeping her composure, the composure of an emperor.
Yovan being Yovan broke the scene with ease as he tapped her forehead with enough force to leave a red mark, "The fuck are you talking about? I'm asking if you've been working hard. Seriously, if I find you too weak, I'm gonna beat you up."
Hancock's expression went from shock as she covered her forehead to embarrassment as she rained down a series of punches on Yovan, "I hate you! Why are you ruining my performance!!?"
"Huh? That was a performance? Where is the chaos? Hey, stop it!" Yovan complained himself.
"Not all performances need chaos! Drama is good too!!" Hancock yelled back.
"It's only good when it leads to chaos! Drama without ample chaos that can leave deep traces behind is nothing! It's just like your face, no matter how much makeup you put on, a little bit of water can wash it away! Surgery is different though!" Yovan nodded at his wiseness.
"How dare you!? I don't do make-up! This empress doesn't need makeup!!! Take it back!" Hancock yelled with anger. Her beauty isn't to be tainted by his words of blasphemy.
"I will take it back if you agree with everything else I said," Yovan made an offer.
"That's blackmail!" Hancock groaned at the audacity.
"I know," Yovan nodded, "It works, thus I do it,"
"Aghh, you bully, just wait, I'll turn you into stone someday!" Hancock promised before taking a seat again with a huff.
"Sure sure," Yovan shrugged before eyeing the two guests, truly treating the place like his home, "I've seen you somewhere, the old man that laughed, right?"
"Hoho, you remember me?" The elderly man remarked, his white hair dangling over his left eye with his right eye, having a scar stretching over it.
"Naturally," Yovan nodded, glancing at the other individual in the hall who seemed very absent-minded, someone he knows quite a bit, Monkey D. Luffy.
"This is Yovan Night... My friend," Hancock explained, noticing the growing tension in the hall, "And this is..." She awaited the white-haired old man to introduce himself if he wants to.
"Silvers Rayleigh," The old man did indeed introduce himself, "As I'm sure you already knew."
"Who doesn't know of the Dark King?" Yovan smiled before turning his attention to Hancock, "Am I being noisy? Should I leave? If so, let's set out when you're ready."
"No, it's okay," Hancock shook her head as she brought out a newspaper, "What happened in the Impel Down changes things,"
Silvers furrowed his brows, seeming quite surprised, "You trust him that much, huh?"
"I trust him with my life," Hancock nodded without hesitation.
"Well, that indeed changes things... That means Ace is no longer in the Impel Down. They've likely taken him to the Marineford," Silvers didn't mind saying that right before Yovan, that's how much he trusts Hancock.
"Marineford," That's the first time the kid Luffy, spoke as he instantly stood up, saying, "I have to do now!" And he ran, exiting the hall only to come back a second later.
"Umm, what's the Marineford? Where is the Marineford? How do I get to the Marineford?" Luffy asked very seriously, and Silvers could only facepalm.
"Yahahahahaha, he's funny, a comedic genius, dare I say," Yovan commented with a laugh.
"He wasn't trying to be funny," Silvers corrected.
"You know, I have someone like that in my crew, he talks about dissecting things a lot as well as... Hmm, better not say it. Anyway, he's never trying to be funny, but I can't help but always laugh," Yovan said before letting out a chuckle.
"That sounds like a good crew member," Silvers shook his head with a laugh, "The only safe way to reach Marineford is through the Gates of Justice. I... He needs your help,"
"You want me to take him to the Impel Down discreetly?" Hancock asked, side-glancing at a hopeful Luffy.
"Yes," Silvers nodded.
"Yes yes!!" Luffy nodded several times.
"What do you think?" Hancock turned her attention to Yovan much to Silvers' surprise. She really does seem to hold his opinion very highly.
That says a lot considering Silvers Rayleigh is very good friends with Hancock and her sisters.
He is one of the two exceptions from Hancock's hatred towards men for helping her and her sisters after they escaped from the World Nobles.
"Hmm, for the sake of Amazon Lily, we'll have to make sure his presence in the Marineford isn't related to us in any way... I can help in that regard," That's all Yovan had to say.
Hancock let out a smile, nodding before eyeing Luffy, "We'll make a plan and get you in there, and all you have to do is to listen. Don't do anything stupid, or I'll kill you myself."
She was serious, the Dark King could tell. How could she not when the risk of Luffy being found out in her ship is losing her stature as a Warlord, meaning the likely demise of her people?
"He won't," Silvers assured her, and Luffy also nodded with determination, "I won't," He couldn't afford to screw up.
Ace has been caught by the Marines. Due to Apollo's actions, he has been transferred to the Marineford and is set to be executed very soon, and he just so happens to be Luffy's sworn brother.
As such, Luffy was brought here by the Dark King himself to save his brother, strangely without his crew.
That made Yovan wonder about the concept of fate, why did the Straw Hats end up splitting up even after all the changes he caused? Sabaody Archipelago has become a risk zone for World Nobles after all.
