Chapter 155: The World In Chaos II

...........

"It's never too late." All at the same time, the Elders' eyes widened as they heard a hazy voice in their ears, instantly making them kneel down in worship.

They stayed as such for a while, the voice slowly fading away. The mysterious voice walked away, heading into the core of the Mary Geoise, having said what needed to be said.

Even it was forced to act at the change in fate, or rather, the pure unabashed destruction of fate.

However, its expression was rather calm as it walked up the stairs, walking by the swords planted on the ground towards a throne.

The swords were supposed to act as a barrier, almost a warning for the throne is supposed to be empty.

The Empty Throne was an extremely tall, ornamented red and gold throne that bears the symbol of the World Government. The golden armrests are designed to look like lion head statues.

The throne itself is kept on top of a three-level red and white platform and those several swords and axes were planted on the floor of the first and third levels since ancient times, with the ones in the first being rusting relics of the twenty founding kingdoms.

It's called the Empty Throne because of a false premise, one that says that no one is allowed to sit on this throne, not even the Five Elders or the World Nobles, as its vacancy symbolizes that the world is not ruled by a single figure, sending a message of peace by making all royals equal before it with none greater or lesser than the other.

Yet, this mysterious tall figure took a seat on it naturally, as if it's something that had been done numerous times before, perhaps since ancient times.

The figure sat there with the demeanor of a king for he was, in fact, the King Of The World, the person that rules it in secrecy, the dark hands behind the curtains.

The figure possesses a humanoid figure. They have sharp almond eyes with red irises that have thin circles surrounding the pupils.

The figure adorned a crown that has four sharp, incredibly tall spikes on the top and an extremely long robe that flows upon the ground a great distance behind them.

Their red eyes looked up into the distance. They looked up at a painting hung on one of the Hall walls, quite the strange painting it was.

The painting spoke of chaos, the broken galleon ship in it said as much as it rested upon the ground vertically, resting in a crater, surrounded by dead bodies, blood, and chaos far in the distance.

It's the most expensive painting to have ever existed in the history of the world, its name known by many, the Fall Massacre.

"It's never too late," The figure murmured yet again as they turned their eyes towards a newspaper to the side, Yovan's face taking the majority of the first page.

The World Government couldn't control the news, not entirely at least, especially since Moragns disappeared, hiding in the shadows.

Therefore, the news of the incomprehensible battle that took place quickly spread throughout the world, bringing about a new wave of unease and panic, the likes of which the world has never seen before.

It was to the extent that those whose hands didn't tremble while holding a newspaper were a rarity for before them were events stranger than imagination.

Before them was a bounty that's almost double that of Gol D. Roger, and he was the fucking pirate king!!!! It was inconceivable how someone can attain the bounty of Ten Billion Beli.

Things became clear as they read through the newspaper... He attained the Ten Billion bounty because he killed two world nobles.

That was news the World Government tried to erase from history but they couldn't, not with Moragns working against them, and he was more than happy to do so.

If that wasn't enough, the newspaper even spoke of how the Stranger fought against the Three Admirals as well as the Fleet Admiral! And he forced them to retreat!!!

Every loss of the Marines is a +1 in the courage of the pirates and those who want to do evil, so the world did indeed enter an Age Of Chaos.

The World had entered a new age, one of chaos, and even the age of pirates couldn't even hope to contend.

Very familiar scenes took place throughout the world, starting with the Red-Haired Shanks whose killing intent and enormous willpower almost knocked out his own crew.

The veins on his hand were almost on the brink of exploding as he squeezed his hand into a fist, crushing a newspaper in the process, "Is this what you want?" He asked as calmly as possible, so not calmly at all.

The only person who was seemingly unaffected by his willpower was a tall individual with a green cloak over him.

"No, but it's the only way," The man with the hoarse voice was none other than Monkey D. Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary army.

"Do you realize just how much he's bringing upon the world??? Do your goals align at all? Does he care about peace? How can you trust someone like him!!?" Shanks was obviously not in a good mood.

Being a pirate who wishes for nothing but peace, he's considered an anomaly because most pirates only wish to pillage and kill, looking for treasures and fame.

Shanks realizes better than most just how many innocents will fall in the so-called Age of Chaos, too many to count.

"Yes. No. No... However, I do trust that the end we seek is the same," Dragon shook his head with a sigh, his tone sounding heavy, "Sometimes, we have to make sacrifices. You've made a sacrifice for the sake of the future, so you should understand."

"But it wasn't a sacrifice that would lead to the death of those who aren't deserving of it!!" Shanks couldn't help but stand up as he shouted, his eyes seemingly reeking of red lightning.

"Yet It's a sacrifice that had to be done despite how much I don't want it to happen... This is difficult for me too, but for the future... Just do not interfere." That's why Dragon was here in the first place.

"I will interfere," Shanks responded without hesitation.

"I only wished to warn you," Dragon shook his head as he turned around, "What do you from here on out is up to you." The man then vanished along with a gust of wind, appearing far away.

Like all people in the World, he also had a newspaper in his hand, but he was one of the few people that know a lot about Yovan and Morgans, so he noticed something strange.

'The newspaper is painting the stranger in a bad light, deliberately so, painting him like a monster that brings about chaos, almost like a demon... I have yet to understand him fully, but, he kept his promise.'

He narrowed his eyes as they landed upon a black card in his other hand, quite exquisite with a few words written on it with gold, "An Invitation to join the Pantheon, huh? Thyphon, Dragon King."

From a while ago, the newspapers started painting Yovan in a bad light. The power of words is unimaginable, so slowly but surely, people grew to hate him for he was the one to bring about unease and chaos.

His unimaginable achievements only grew to paint him in the light of an alien, someone foreign, feared by all... The World was turning against him.

Throughout his existence, Yovan was seemingly working hard to harvest the hatred of those who matter, earning the hatred of the Emperors, the Marines, and the World Government.

And only a week passed before news that shocked many spread out throughout the world, incomprehensible news... Yovan Night, the Stranger, also known as Apollo has been relieved of his duty as one of the gods.

No one understood what the fuck was happening, especially so for the World Government, not until they received some interesting news... The Pantheon could no longer control the bringer of chaos.

He grew out of their control, leaving their grasp and doing many things they don't want him to do, so they had to let him go.

Many could now let out a sigh of relief for that information told them a lot, the Pantheon wasn't this all-powerful force. No, they had limits, and Yovan's monstrosity was also beyond them.

There were even rumors that the Stranger was planning on overthrowing the Pantheon to become its sole ruler, thus they became even enemies, and the Pantheon neither confirmed nor denied these rumors.

Amidst Yovan's disappearance, he quickly grew out of being a legend to a Demon Lord that the world simply can not allow to exist.
