Chapter 19

It's like a dream, but from the hold of her hand that I'm currently feeling, I know it's real.

I'm currently driving back home. The sun is already standing high, so beautiful, I stare at it from the top of the toll road.

When I arrived home.

"Julia, where have you been? I've been calling you since this morning, but you're not picking up!"

And this annoying woman came at the wrong time.

What a mood killer.

"Sorry Mia, Joseph and I, we went to the mountaintop restaurant this early morning."

"Okay, I'm fine with that, but did you forget that your story presentation is next week?"

"Oh, God! I totally forgot...."

I looked at Julia's face which looked so messed up, making me irritated.

"Julia, why don't we go in first, I'll make you some coffee to calm you down," I said.

The three of us went inside. Mia, who had been babbling non-stop, made Julia look even more depressed.

I knew this was not the right time to interrupt their conversation, because this was not my domain. Although I was annoyed, I had to be patient.

While they talked in the living room, I prepared her favorite black coffee. I also prepared some snacks, to keep them from getting hungry.

A toast with strawberry jam, is perfect. Not overcooked, with butter to add savory and crispy to the bread.

After I prepared everything, I immediately served it to them on a plate, then I delivered it to their place.

When I was in the living room, I didn't see them. Then I walked to Julia's room and found them facing the monitor.

"Guys, I made you some snacks and coffee."

"Thank you, Joseph." Julia took the plate I was holding.

"Don't stress yourself too much," I said.

"Okay, thank you." She replied.

That woman gave us a strange look.

"You guys... had sex earlier? "

My whole body felt like it had been hit by a Pikachu.

"W-What are you talking about Mia!? Julia said nervously.

"I've been seeing you guys like a married couple. But from the reaction of you two, my guess was right."

She looked me straight in the eye.

"You lucky bastard!"

"No comment!" I replied.

"How are you doing with Miss J?" Yuri asked that question with sparkling eyes.

We were currently at our regular coffee shop, of course, my presence because of Yuri's phone call this morning was like an alarm to me.

"We had it."

"Wait a minute, you mean..."

"Yes."

"Uuuuuuh, congratulations Joseph!!! Am so happy!"

"To be honest, I should be the one thanking you."

I bowed my head towards Yuri.

"I truly do thank you, Yuri. Without you, I might not have been able to start this relationship."

"What are you talking about, from the beginning I did support you. After all, it's for Miss J's happiness, as her fan I should be happy. I can't wait for her to get back to writing."

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot, good thing you said that. Julia will publish her latest work, this year. Yesterday I accompanied her before the deadline, but from the results of her conversation with her editor, I think it will be a success."

"UUUUUUUUUUUHHHHH!!!!!! Am so happy! I can die in peace now!"

"Please don't."

"By the way, how is your thesis?"

"Next week I will have my thesis defense, wish me luck, okay?"

"Of course buddy! I also pray that your relationship with Miss J will last forever."

"Tonight I'm going to stay up late to prepare the material, so I can't stay up too long."

"Go for it!"

We do a bro fist and I leave the place with a new spirit.

In the evening, I enjoyed coffee with Julia on the second-floor terrace.

"How is your book presentation going?" I asked.

"It's almost done, but I don't feel like I'm mentally ready."

"Next week I'll also be facing my thesis defense and right now my mentality is the same as yours. Even so, I think that the problems I'm about to face aren't the worst of the problems we've been facing these past few months."

Julia chuckled.

"You're right, I almost forgot that the problems we've faced are many times worse than my presentation."

"Julia, how about we make a contract?"

"What do you mean?"

"Until our presentation is over, we can't act like a couple."

" Why is that? I don't want to!"

"My goal is for us to focus, I also want to focus on graduating on time, so that I can also be on time to become someone useful, and a man who can make you happy."

Julia was silent for a moment, from the look on her face it seemed that she was sad with my words earlier.

"Starting tomorrow, right?"

"Right."

"In that case, we're still a couple now, right?"

"Of course."

Her face turned red.

"Kiss me," she said quietly.

"What?"

"I want you to kiss me before this day ends."

"Eh, hahaha, you're so cute!"

"I'm serious! If you laugh like that, I'll get angry."

It is my first time seeing her act like that. But really, she's really adorable.

"Sorr, ehem, let's do it..."

We put down our glasses, she closed her eyes, and I approached her. I could smell the coffee in her mouth. But still, her lips were so sweet.
