Gothic

Ardis followed one of the guards as the large palace gates flung open giving them access into the palace... The palace was the definition of a gothic empire.... Everything was painted in black .... Armors ,thorns , Ravens and scary statues were used to decorate the palace and if not for the fact that Ardis saw the guards standing outside she would have thought it was haunted ....

It was moody enough to give an entire human being depression and anxiety ... Weeds were scattered everywhere and thorns weren't left out too. Everything was as silent as a grave yard and all Ardis could hear was the sound of her heart drumming against her chest ...

Ardis almost jumped out of fear whenever she entered in to the palace.... A large tall statue stood in the heart of the palace... It had horns and dark wings and it looked like the devil straight outta fantasy movies ..... Candles were lit at every corner and statues occupied every nook and cranny of the walls ....

A large pendulum clock was hanged on top of the statue with an unknown writing on it. Ardis was scared to her wits .... Ardis creeped carefully along side the guards who led them to the forever long stairs ....

The stench of blood immediately filled Ardis's nose .... She stared at Irene who was also baffled about their surrounding . Both of them were not hurt at all, then why was the stench of blood so strong ... Ardis held onto the railings and was surprised to feel something wet and sticky on her hands

Ardis lifted it for examination and her heart almost flew out of her chest at what she saw ...

It was dry blood on her hands , She quickly retracted her hand and held on to her maid for fear of her environment .. They kept on walking along the stairs trailing behind the guard who seemed oblivious to their reactions ....

Finally they arrived a passage and this time it was horrific and terrifying paintings that welcomed the both of them .... Ardis scanned the surroundings and found rows of doors situated there and she stared at the guard who had opened one of the doors for them

Ardis couldn't believe that she was going to be waking up to the frightening paintings everyday ...

"You are going to be staying here with the rest of the others " The guard before walking away stunning Ardis who had thought there was no one living in this prison called a palace

Next day

Ardis sat at the dining table as she stared at the hollow people in front of her who had no interest in welcoming her ... They were princesses like her too but they looked devastated and unhappy with large dark circles and a horrendously pale skin , they looked like victims straight outta a horror movie.

Ardis stared at Irene who was skeptical about eating . Surprisingly the food was delicious and mouth watering making Ardis reminisce the last time she had food as good as this

Ardis retired to her room ... This was the tenth day she had spent in this depressing place and she herself was starting to get depressed if not for Irene who was keeping her company ... She couldn't believe that this was where she was going to be spending the rest of her life , As a forgotten princess who was sold off to relieve her kingdom of distress and terror

She was still immersed in her thoughts when she heard the door creaked open , thinking it was Irene , she stood up to meet with her only to be caught up in the recognizable intimidating aura that she had met with before, Causing shivers to run down her spine in fear ... Looking up she was astonished to meet a pair of enchanting silver eyes boring deep into her soul
