After meeting Fubuki and Lily, we all headed to the temporary camp set up by Mizuki and the other members of the Blizzard Group. But before that, I had to fill them in on Do-S and Meiko Plasma.
We don't have to go very far to reach the temporary camp. I was just curious about why they chose to set it up near the spaceship.
In this location, you'll find tents meant to provide temporary shelter for survivors. However, when I took a look inside one of the tents, I was surprised to find a few professional heroes who seemed to be in rough condition.
The other members of the Blizzard Group kept a close watch on Meiko Plasma and Do-S, ensuring everyone's safety inside one of the tents. Fubuki, Lily, and I stepped into the spacious tent at the center.
"Have you done a search in this area? Even though I'm new to this organization, we agree that saving civilians is more important."
Mizuki and the other members were gathered around the table, with her taking charge of the conversation. However, as soon as she spotted us, a warm smile lit up her face.
"You did better than I thought," I said proudly. Mizuki, with her towering frame, embraced me tightly. Despite being lifted off the ground like a child, I allowed her to have her way.
"You can be proud of yourselves. I'll make sure your contribution pays off," Fubuki's unexpected generosity caught Lily off guard. She was taken aback because her boss had previously complained about the organization's financial situation.
"Alright, everyone, let's get back to work and make sure we locate the rest of the Blizzard Group members, even if it means finding their lifeless bodies," she added. The cheers quickly faded into silence, and one by one, they exited the tent.
I noticed that Lin Lin, who had been quietly sitting in the corner, also had the intention of joining the others. However, I gently placed my hand on her shoulder, signaling her to remain seated. As I watched her adorable pout, I gently caressed her head, causing the bell tied to her hair to tinkle softly.
"I've done my best to fulfill your request. With the monsters still alive and roaming the ruins, we found fewer survivors," Mizuki said, her head held high but immediately lowering along with her shoulders.
"I understand that not everyone could be saved, and I have to agree with Kaiser that you did a commendable job-"
"So, when's the plan to sneak into the spaceship, Kaiser? You promised me," Mosquito Girl interrupted Fubuki without any guilt. Perhaps it was also because the majority of the civilians and professional heroes who perished were her doing, which made me realize how insignificant this conversation was to her.
After everyone gave her a puzzled look, their attention shifted towards me. I paused for a moment, gathering my thoughts, before sharing the details of my plan:
"I've observed that the spaceship contains a significant amount of stored energy, which serves as its driving force. This energy also seems to have been used in a previous powerful attack," I raised my hand to interrupt Lily, signaling her to hold her question.
"You might have noticed the earthquake-like vibrations, and you might still be able to hear explosions nearby. Chances are, the alien is the one responsible for taking down the Elder Centipede, and right now, he is probably fighting with S-class heroes," I continued.
"Doesn't that make your plan even riskier? I mean, if that one alien can effortlessly handle S-class heroes. I can't believe how many like him there are on that spaceship," Lily voiced her thoughts, causing Fubuki to furrow her eyebrows in response.
"I understand the risks involved, which is why our approach will involve infiltration and minimizing contact with the aliens. Only Mosquito Girl, Fubuki, and I will be involved in this plan." Even though I've done my best to lie, Mosquito Girl doesn't bother concealing her grin.
"You must be out of your mind! How can you be okay with meeting one of those powerful aliens? We still have no idea what the situation is like inside that spaceship," Mizuki said, adamantly rejecting my plan.
"You can trust me. And while I'm up there, I have another important task for you all."
"Do you want them to protect those bitches for you? Kaiser, you always manage to impress me with your consistent display of assholery, don't you? And by the way, when did you ever ask for my permission to involve me in your insane schemes?" Fubuki finally spoke up, and she didn't hold back as usual.
After a brief pause, I decided to fill in Fubuki on the details. But before diving into that, I thought it would be helpful to give Lily, Mizuki, and Lin Lin a rundown on Do-S and Meiko Plasma. As I started explaining, the conversation in the tent started to get intense, with everyone bombarding me with challenging questions. I can only blame it on Fubuki, who somehow managed to create a misunderstanding.
Well, Fubuki definitely made a valid point, but can I be that straightforward? Particularly in this situation. Just telling them that Do-S and Meiko Plasma were monsters and expressing my interest in experimenting with them was sufficient.
"Hold on, I can't follow what you guys are saying. Aren't you professional heroes supposed to report to the Hero Association? Why are you doing all these risky things on your own?" Lin Lin finally chimed in. Being a martial arts enthusiast, she naturally had some knowledge about professional heroes.
"Actually, Mosquito Girl and I aren't professional heroes, so you're mistaken… Imagine the number of lives lost if we had to rely solely on the Hero Association's approval for every decision. As you prepare to join the Blizzard Group, there will be a wealth of knowledge for you to absorb moving forward."
"Now I understand her feelings. I never mentioned joining your organization, and honestly, I don't recall ever talking about it," She refused with a stronger passion than I had anticipated. I found myself once again gently grasping her shoulders to ensure she remained seated.
"Remember the favor I did for you in the arena? If it wasn't for me, you would have died," I leaned in close to Lin Lin and whispered. Her eyes widened in response.
After glancing at Mizuki and Lily, I made my way out of the tent, emphasizing the urgency of our situation. "We're running out of time. Come with me, and I'll guide you through what to do with Do-S and Meiko Plasma."
Because the tent alone couldn't prevent the two of them from escaping, I had to resort to a slightly harsh measure of tying them up. In addition to that, I also prohibit any form of contact with them. Especially with Do-S, she possesses such immense power that she can effortlessly manipulate the minds of others.
Shortly thereafter, a series of explosions reverberated through the air, accompanied by the launch of large projectiles from the spaceship. It appeared that they were triggered by someone's attempt to approach. Smoke began to billow from a small section of the spaceship, catching most people off guard and leaving them clueless about what had just occurred.
