Winter Soon

Cold breeze blew past my cheeks. 'Days pass by so fast.' I thought.

It's already winter soon. I rubbed my hands.

'I hope everything goes fine.' I mumbled.

"Frank. What do you think will happen if Alene gives birth to twins with seals in them?" Ned approached me from behind.

"Twins!" I groaned.

"I think the fruit of respect and honor which our founding alpha put in building the Fire Blood pack will bloom."

"You mean to say a new era will begin as what Alene said about twins is true." Ned said. It felt hard to grasp for him.

But it also made me think hard. Though unbelievable, time will show us what is ahead of us.

"How is Betty now?" I asked, concerned.

"Fine."

"She did a great job."

"yeah!"

We turned to enter inside the house, that's when Betty approached us.

"Do you know Frank? Why didn't I like Alene?" She said,

Her words were full of doubts and something bothered her.

"Frank! Betty tried to read Alene's mind but…"

"But there was something which stopped me from doing so. I think it's her wolf which is helping her to absorb the seal and also making her powerful."

Betty cut in between. But...

"Yes! I also felt she is growing stronger." Ned added.

"You mean she is stronger than anyone here." I was surprised.

"When she hits eighteenth birthday, she will fully awaken her wolf and probably her vampire too. But now twins' souls bind with seal and vampiric power in her could get absorbed by them." Ned said.

'How odd?' I thought.

It's never happened in our pack before except with the Geld. But he too only managed to do it in the last minute before his death.

'I don't know what we will get to see. I just want to live a peaceful life with Alene.' I thought.

"We will see if Alene turns werewolf or gets through deaths door by her eighteenth birthday. And that…."

"That will decide how you will treat her, right?" Ned cut off Betty and said.

"Yes!" Betty nodded her head.

"I know you don't hate her but worry about the fate of the pack. I understand that." I said.

"That's why you are a deserving Alpha." she said smiling.

"Do you think Jake will still not accept the situation?" I asked.

"He will take time but everything depends on how Alene turns out." She said,

"Jake is furious as Alene has vampire blood. I don't think he will change." Ned said seriously.

Even if the situation turns out to be harsh, I won't be able to control it if Jake turns into an enemy. I hope he doesn't.

As I was thinking about Jake, he walks toward the backyard with an axe. It was cold today and it was also his duty to cut firewood. He looked at me with a furious look. He helps me when I need to but I still can't grasp what's in his mind. 'Why does he do that?' I thought.

Betty looked at him pitifully. She too wanted him to forget everything and try to maintain a healthy relationship. As a beta herself, Betty didn't want to have division within the pack.

"How are you?" Betty said to Jake.

"Fine!" He said.

His face, red enough to point how angry he was, seemed even more hot as he chopped fire-woods heavily.

Betty felt bad and her face turned sour. Her worry made her face dark and withered.

She turned back and went towards the basement to prepare Sam for tomorrow's job.

'Humph?!'

Jake humphed her. And continued chopping the woods.

I shook my head and entered the living room.

"What is the first order for that vampire?" Ned asked as he followed me.

"Use him as a mole and spy on the vampire first." I said.

"Okay!" Ned nodded his head and left.

He does all the official paperwork for the academy and has to look after other younger werewolf. He is quite busy but also finds time to help me grow as a leader. I'm very grateful to have such a supporter and aide in need.

As I was going to turn for my room, I saw Alene in the kitchen.

Her hair fluttering and her cooking robe seemed heart capturing and dazzling icy blue eyes furnished her beauty to the next level.

Well, I am not lying if I say she is an angel in disguise. But looking at the circumstances, it is going to be a very complicated love story between us.

I changed my direction and slowly approached her by the kitchen door. Leaning on the kitchen pillar, I looked at her compassionately.

Her smell right after the bath and how my wolf rampaged inside was very funny and interesting.

'Quiet down Kiev!' I said to my wolf.

'Grrrrr'

Growl which meant to not stop now came from it.

Meanwhile, Alene, busy cooking, her attention fully concentrated on, didn't see me there.

Suddenly she turned, her gaze and how her face was sweating made her even more attractive.

"What are you doing there sneaking up on someone so sudden?" Alene shouted in a scared manner.

"Do you know how my wolf reacted when you didn't even speak while standing there?" She got started.

"Well! Sorry for sneaking but what could I do? You are so beautiful and I didn't like to disturb you while you're cooking so focused." Embracing her in arms, I said.

"Humph! You don't even care, I get scared. But only look for yourself. How selfish!" She said with a pout in her face.

As I was holding her in my arms, Jake passed by with even more rage and an angry face.

It took us aback and made Alene upset.

"Why does Jake hate this much? I don't even know what I did wrong." Alene said.

"Don't mind him. He will get normal as time passes." I said.

I didn't like to ruin our moment and mood. But, it is concerning. 'Why Jake seems to be drifting away and away as time grows further.' I thought.

"But When?" Alene looked at me in the eyes and said.

'Her worry is not meaningless. There is something wrong.' I thought.

"Okay! Okay! You cook while I finish my work remaining in the room." I said as I left the kitchen.

Martha entered at the same time. She was smiling seeing me come out of the kitchen while Alene was only there. She winked. 'Huh?!' It surprised me.

Martha entered the kitchen and started chatting and cooking with Alene.

I turned to go to my room and I saw Betty coming inside the living room.

"Betty! Please come to my office. I have something to talk to you about." I called for Betty.
