Love In The Air

"Alene!" Frank showed up and closed up to me.

"What are they up to?" I asked.

"Something important came up but they will soon join us." He said, smiling at me.

'Why are you always this calming and gentle?' I thought.

Tears brimmed and a sudden emotional swirl started inside my heart.

I clutched my heart and looked outside from the half-opened door. A cold breeze brushed my cheek. As I shivered, Frank felt it and hugged me tight.

"What? Are you cold in this warm moment?" He said.

"I feel like something bad will happen. Every time I feel a sudden urge to cry, something will happen for sure." I said with a worried look on my face.

"It's not like that. Everything is fine as long as you are with me." He smiled.

Leaning my head on his shoulders, I held on to his arms. Suddenly, a kicking sensation came from my womb.

"Frank!" I exclaimed.

As I looked at his face, he was already looking at me.

"You felt it too, right? Our baby moved inside." I said in joy.

"Yes. I felt it too." He said touching my belly.

"What's the matter? Where's Betty gone?" Martha came towards us. She is searching for Betty but she left a few minutes ago with Ned.

"Gone out with Ned." Douard said.

"W-what are you doing, Frank? touching a lady's stomach that way!" Martha gave a weird look at Frank.

Douard choked his laugh.

"What?" She exclaimed.

"Alene's babies inside moved and gave their first kick. So, he is touching her like that." Douard said.

"What?!" Martha appeared surprised.

"Come let me see." She stretched her hands out to me.

"Oh! they have grown this much already. It's weird." She said,

However, a confused look appeared on her face.

"I feel your wolf is stronger than before!" She said, looking at me.

It made me feel uneasy. I didn't know what to say to her. It's still a mystery to me and the birth of these babies is going to be more of a mystery.

Simultaneously, Ned and Betty arrived. Behind them, two vans came in a line and stopped at front yards.

"Is it done?" Frank asked.

"Yes! Everything to its place." Ned said.

Betty looked down and lost.

'During her dressing too, she was a little off. But what is bothering her?' I thought.

To that Douard approached them, and whispered something to Ned's ear. Ned turned to me strangely and nodded his head.

I felt aback and looked at Frank. Even Frank stayed quiet.

Betty walked silently to her room.

Everything looked confusing and very abnormal. It's as if they were hiding something from me.

"What is happening?" I said.

"It's a surprise." Frank said, waving his hands around my face.

'Huh?! A surprise. That's why they were behaving like that but what about Betty. She looked upset and sad.' I thought.

A loud sound came from Betty's room. Soon, she also appeared with a small wooden box, with a peculiar pattern and color, in her hands.

She approached me and extended the box towards me.

"Is it for me?" I said, looking at her.

I couldn't follow what was happening. I looked at Frank confused.

He nodded his head.

"Thank you!" I held the box with shaky hands.

I didn't expect such treatment and the box which I held gave off a weird aura. Synge reacted to it.

'Do you want me to open this box?' I asked Synge.

"Grrrrr…" With a soft growl, Synge affirmed it.

"Do I open it now?" I said.

"It's up to you. But if you open it now, everyone would feel nice, I guess." Saying that Frank looked towards others.

"Okay! But what's inside?" I hesitated.

"Open it and you'll know." Douard gave me even more suspense.

'What could it be?' I thought.

Slowly opening the wooden lid aside, I peeked into the box. There is an emerald and ruby bracelet, shining just like Frank's red eyes and icy blue which resembled my eyes.

Gently sliding it on my wrist, I looked at it's sparkle and beauty.

"How is it? Do you like it?" Frank said.

"It's lovely and beautiful. Thank you so much. But you already gave me one earlier." I said.

" Thanks Betty for that. It's my mother's and family heirloom. She suggested giving it to you." Frank said.

I looked towards Betty. As I was going to thank her, she spoke first.

"No need to thank me. Ned suggested that I do it and I also felt like doing it." She said in her usual voice.

However, her care and worry was clear.

"Wow! such a beautiful bracelet." Martha said.

"Yeah! It is, right?" Douard added.

He looked towards Betty very affectionately. It made Betty restless and she blushed unknowingly.

"I need some air." she said and went outside.

Martha giggled and waved her hands to gesture to him to go after her.

Douard hesitated but anyway did it.

"He he!" looking at Frank, I giggled.

He gently smiled.

"Is that okay?" Ned whispered to Martha's ear. She just nodded her head as she smiled.

'Ah!' Something crossed my mind.

"Ned, can you tell me what Douard whispered to your ear earlier?" I said.

"That…." He hesitated.

"That is another surprise for you." Frank said, cutting Ned off.

"Another surprise?! How many are there?" I exclaimed.

"We're going to visit our ancestral temple of 'Goddess of Red Moon'." Frank said.

As Frank mentioned about the temple, Synge growled. And I remembered what Geld had said in my dream.

"Where is that temple?" I asked.

"It's another surprise. But you'll get to know that when we arrive there." Frank said.

'Why is there suspense and surprise one after another?' I thought.

"ah!" Babies kicked again from inside.

"What is it?" Ned asked.

"Babies kicked this time." I said.

"Babies are also excited to visit the temple badly, huh?" Ned said.

Frank gently stroked my belly and kissed my cheeks.

But destiny had something else in the basket for us…
