"I don't know for sure but it must be because of the seal reversal." Timothy said.
"Just because of that. It's still a mystery. We can't say it is the reason, what if there is something, we are missing out all over." Geld said optimistically.
"But how can I do this thing without knowing about it."
"You're blessed by a goddess."
"Goddess! Yes, right. But I thought there must be something very ritualistic and weird, from which I might have acquired it."
"Oh! You and your imagination."
"I am an explorer afterall."
Alene self patted her shoulder and bloomed in self earned pride.
'Cackle!'
Babies cackled and looked at Alene very affectionately.
They are now children of a mysterious mother.
'Ah!'
'What is this?! I feel a familiar aura nearby.'
Timothy felt someone's sense.
"Did you pick that?"
"What?" Geld said.
"What is it?" Alene asked curiously.
"This aura! Timothy! Do you know who he is?" Geld burst out his messages into their minds overwhelmingly.
"Aargh! What the hell? We can hear you fine. Or do you want us deaf?" Timothy frowned.
"He is…"
"Alene! Come dinner is ready."
Even before Geld could finish, a call came from Martha.
"Ah! Let's go to eat, shall we?"
Cuddling up the babies to her chest, Alene carried them out with her.
Slowly approaching the campfire, Alene in her own excitement, walks like a happy leaf.
'Bulge!'
Baby on one hand moved agitated. Unawaken wolf inside the baby felt an unwelcoming presence and got alerted.
"What is it?" Alene asked telepathically.
"It's again."
"What?"
"Timothy hide your vampire. NOW!!"
The power exuding from both dissipated as if it was not there and confused Alene to what was happening.
"Is everything fine?"
Douard asked her from his seat.
"Umm, No! It's just… my babies."
She stuttered and walked ahead without a pause now.
'Tremble'
"Ah! Calm down! Food is not running away. What's this hurry for?"
Frank held stumbling Alene and helped her sit down.
'Smell!...'
"Ahhh! How delicious is this smell? What's today?"
"It's deer meat. Martha hunted. It's good for you to recover your health."
Sam said excitedly.
Martha on other hand seemed annoyed at how Sam was clinging to her in every way.
"Wow! Take me hunting next time, okay!" Alene had an excitement unmatched to anyone there.
"It would be very exciting though."
Sam jumped in between.
"Sam, just sit down and keep quiet."
Douard said.
And he sat down.
While munching over the meat, Alene telepathically received a message.
"Who is he? Next to the father."
"Hmmm… Oh! He is Douard, my caretaker before I joined the pack. He was half-ling before, but recently, he got his wolf back and became a member officially just like me."
"Are you certain that he is no danger?"
"Huh! Why would you ask that?"
"He is exuding a…."
"I am full. Let me take in some fresh air. I am out for a walk. Sam! Want to join?"
Before Geld could finish, Douard broke the silence and left for a walk in the woods.
"Sure! Let me finish this piece."
"Look Martha! He doesn't even leave any piece behind."
Betty teased Martha and giggled.
"What? You want to have it badly. Huh!" Martha mocked her instead.
"Well! I have someone already. Just think about yourself."
To the teasing and mocking, Sam said,
"It's not what you think."
And ran off to catch up with Douard.
"He is the odd one"
Timothy said.
"Yeah! A really odd one."
'Why is this heart again rampaging? Why? Why doesn't my fate turn peaceful and leave all those tiring paths behind?'
To the confusing conversation, Alene remained quiet and just lost in thoughts.
'What has this starry sky and stars written in for me?'
Her gaze, uncomfortable and troubled, pulled out the painful memories from her life.
Eyes brimming, just not to tilt off and reveal those precious tears.
'I don't know how this story came to this path.'
"Mother! There are vampires fighting in the woods."
Geld wakes Alene up and her worries for uncertainty, turned into reality.
"What?!"
She exclaimed out loud attracting others' attention.
"Huh! Vampires! Here! How?!"
Frank stood up as he caught the smell from the air.
"Strange!. It is fading away."
"Huh! Isn't this the way Douard went off to?"
As soon as those words fell, Betty got up abruptly and looked at the direction intensely.
"No! Please…"
"Hoooooowl…"
She was not even finished praying, a loud howl from within the woods rang out.
"Mother! All of the scent vanished now and the presence is weirdly distorted."
Timothy alerted Alene.
Frank ran off without a second wasted.
"I'm off." Betty too turned into a wolf and ran.
'Sigh!'
Sitting down again a sigh left Alene's mouth.
"Martha! Calm down. It's done already."
"Huh! What do you mean?"
Martha looked at her confused and puzzled.
She saw her relaxed today out of all the incidents.
"What is all…?"
Martha was not even finished with, that's when…
"Sam!"
She exclaimed seeing him.
"What happened? Where are the others?" Martha asked him non-stop.
She grabbed his shoulders and shook him off.
"Ouch!"
"Huh!"
"My shoulder, it's sprained and…"
"Bruised…"
"Are you fine?"
Looking at Alene, he just nods his head.
Martha couldn't understand what was actually happening and out of frustration she was about to burst out.
At the same time,...
'Jump!'
'Crack!'
Douard lands jumping in front of the campfire.
His arms holding Betty and her face surprised and red out of extreme blushing, looked like a blooming fragrant red rose.
He placed her down gently and walked towards fire, turning back to human form.
'Where's frank?'
Eyes searching for Frank, wandered far behind from where Douard returned.
Nowhere to be seen, made her feel lost and half suddenly.
"Mother…"
Even before Timothy could alert, Frank snuck up from behind and grabbed her waist and shook shouting,
"HEY!!!"
"Kyaaaa!"
"Hahahah!"
"Still the scaredy cat. Be brave. Were you not the one who said to beat me tomorrow?"
"I hate you.. I hate you.. I don't even want to talk with you."
"Sorry. It's just that I can't stop myself from doing it. It is just so fun to see you scared and scream. You look damn hot, my girl."
Suddenly an apology turned into a flirtation. Blush reigned over and she sat.
"He is amazing…" Geld said with a slight giggle.
"By the way! What actually happened in the woods?" Martha, still unrecovered from the sudden shock, asked.
"Well! That…"
"There were some vampire spies from Citadel.
"Did they run away?"
"Yeah! Sort of."
