"They can't betray now, not even in their thoughts." Nathan spoke.
"What is she doing?" Douard asked.
Nathan turns to everyone and speaks with a smile on his face.
"It is the rule of being 'Pair of Blood' that they can't betray their masters and also can't go against their brothers and kins."
"Rule!" Frank mumbled.
"She is crushing Sam under that rule, as they are messengers, Goddess punish them if they go out of bound and turn disloyal. It is due to his disloyalty." Nathan added.
"But why is it happening to only them?" Betty asked worried about Martha.
To that Nathan said, " Emma has risen as a vampire royal and her blood sphere earlier triggered this phenomenon and as they were vampires initially, they got bound in such a way."
Frank looks at Alene worriedly. 'She is also…'
Alene gave an uneasy look and waited for an answer, confused.
"Mother! Your wolf is the guardian wolf of the werewolf generation and hence the vampire inside you can't be subdued even if it is a vampire royal in front of you."
Nathan cleared off her doubts and plunged her into an even complex situation.
His confident words felt hollow and shallow.
'What is happening all of a sudden? I didn't expect my life to be brought to such a point.' She thought, while unable to grasp the situation properly.
"ah!"
But something hit her mind again. She held her head with pain and suddenly, a flash of unseen things and blurry visions of an unknown lady holding her rushed into her brain.
Not being able to stand in pain, she fell to the ground grunting. A memory where she was being held by a woman, got stuck in her mind.
"Be safe, my child. I love you." Such words buzzed into her ears and heart became uncontrollable.
'Mother!' She thought sensing a motherly affection and attraction vibed from that woman.
"Alene!" Frank supported her to stand up straight.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah. It's just… Ah! a... little headache… argh!"
With pain she held her head and clutched her heart with those unknown heavy feelings surging through her body.
'It feels like everything up to now has gone in vain and changed to what we didn't desire.' Alene was stuck in thoughts, rummaging through all the things that happened until that very day.
Everyone now was brought and placed in such a point in their life which they tried avoiding but failed and destiny played a foul game with their wishes and desire.
Where whatever they believed and trusted is slowly being taken away or shattered and a new start with an unknown end of part started creeping them out.
But there is no way they can turn away. The path they crossed is already far away in the journey.
The unity which seemed to have deepened and brought everyone together looked fake and shallow, hollow and unworthy to their hard work.
Faith and promises looked sucked and dry, and the aim they carried felt plunged into shadows and their effort splashed in vain, faded away. With different ends to walk with, and hold and course of choices ahead are getting changed every second.
While everyone was drowning in such thoughts, Betty looked at the wolf form of Nathan intensely.
He had black hair and eyes normally, but when transformed, his whole body got covered in golden-blackish fur and the strange mark on his right shoulder shone brightly.
'What is this feeling?' A cold chill ran through her spine.
A pin-drop silence prevailed throughout.
Grunting of Alene, Martha and Sam only buzzed in all directions.
Nathan turned back to human form. He didn't look that menacing at his human form and his aura hid perfectly.
Slowly everyone gained their senses back. But exhaustion and tiredness crushed everyone.
"It is a hell of a morning." Frank said smiling, hiding all his doubts deep inside his hearts.
Ned and Douard only nodded and returned back to their tents to rest.
Alene and Frank turned to the waterfall and Nathan lost in his own thoughts and planning was smiling weirdly.
'But Emma…' he thought and his smile vanished and a serious look reigned.
Soon, everyone packed the things and loaded them into the vans after having the meal. It was awkward to even think how much had happened in such a short span of time.
Everyone looked at each other with different looks and enjoyed the food.
Martha and Sam ate their meal in the bed and Emma, who was sleeping, didn't wake until it was time to depart.
"Everything's ready?" Ned asked.
"Yeah!" Betty replied with a sulky face.
Looking at her own hands, she went back to bring the remaining things.
'Spark!'
When she stretched her hands and focused, a spark of lightning emerged into her palm.
A smile crept on her face.
Martha and Sam, seated on a log nearby the river, looked at each other very angrily.
"You know that I don't want to be with you." Martha said, sneering.
"What do you mean? Do I look like I want it that much? Huh!"
Sam's heart while being hypnotised, loved her much but now his personality changed when came to senses.
'But she does look cute when angry.. I like that only…' He thought.
He blushed unknowingly and Martha's gaze fell upon him.
She looked at that blush and felt a weird hot sensation swirling within her heart.
"Grrr…"
Her wolf growled noticeably.
"Saaaahh!"
'Huh?!'
'My vampire!' Sam too had his vampire going wild and felt it awkward and weird. Looking into Martha's eyes he felt aback and his heart raced.
Meanwhile, Emma woke up from her sleep and with a strange look on her face, she stood up.
Her black eyes glowed once and a creepy smile clinged to her lips.
"Really! you never fail to amaze me. Just try your luck." She mumbled.
"What did you say?" Betty was behind her looking for things, heard.
"Oh! It's nothing. I just had a strange dream about a bridge and path which led to weird buildings inside the forest to an island."
"Huh?!"
Betty got shocked.
"How did you see that in your dream? It is similar to the path leading to the temple, where we are going. Weird!"
"Really! How coincidental!" Emma just smiled and went outside. Stretching out her body, she looked at the road ahead intensely.
On the other hand, Frank and Ned were talking about the next step in the war and what was happening in the temple.
Everyone gets on and they leave the place and waterfall behind with different memories and shocks.
Leading with a new path in their hearts, they long for the temple.
