Slashing the whip continuously at Cyrus, Sage was frustrated that he kept dodging swifty. She just wanted to kill him.
They were in a sizable room that was attached to the hallway. In order to avoid creating a scene that would reveal the reason Sage and Cyrus got married, Sage was cautious when attacking Cyrus.
"Give up, we should talk like sophisticated beings." Cyrus spoke with false politeness.
"Right now, I do not want to be sophisticated being, I just want you de..ad." She grunted finishing her sentence as Cyrus stopped abruptly, allowing the whip to rip the sleeve of his coat to his shirt.
When Sage saw the injury she had caused, which resulted in blood spilling out and staining Cyrus' clothes, she grinned brightly. Cyrus closed his eyes in pain.
"You keep underestimating me Cyrus Dragos," She spoke with pride.
"So do you," Cyrus groaned in pain as a bright dark glow engulfed him.
Sage stared in shock when the glow disappeared to reveal Cyrus back in his dark state, glaring at her dangerously.
"I will not tolerate your stubbornness." He appeared to be extremely near to her and snarled.
Sage exhaled, backed away, and threw her whip at him, but he grabbed it and snapped an angry look at her as it slowly turned into a frozen ice whip.
"What?!" Before the ice could touch her, stunned Sage threw the frozen whip to the ground. She had nearly forgotten that Cyrus ice, like the winter, was permanent.
"You have no choice but to tolerate me." Sage spat at him and moved some steps away from him.
Cyrus frowned deepened, his blue slit eyes narrowed at her fiercely and when she blinked, he had crossed the distance between them, his face close to hers and his hand around her neck.
Sage gasped in fright when her back met the wall and without hesitation, Cyrus increased his grip around her neck.
She grabbed his wrist with both her hands struggling and and gasping for air. As he increased his grip, she felt his nails slowly digging into her neck, rage visible in his blue slit eyes.
"That mouth of yours," He hissed and placed his thumb on her lower lip. "Can you put it in good use?" He questioned with a smirk.
Her teary fiery eyes were like moving liquid lava "L..et m..me g..go." Sage stuttered trembling.
"Wake up soon, I have an important meeting to attend to." Cyrus unexpectedly said and flicked her forehead before she could say another word.
She lost consciousness right away. He released her neck and took her into his arms.
When he entered his room, he saw snowflake, who was now black, sleeping on the bed and his white demon panthers dozing off on the floor.
"Wake up," He grumbled to his panthers as he placed Sage on the bed.
Venus and Ares opened their eyes and got on their feet. They stared at unconscious Sage menacingly and back at Cyrus softly.
"Impressive isn't she?" Cyrus asked his panthers as he removed Sage's shoes placed it on the ground and covered her body with the blanket.
He sat on the bed next to her, carried the sleeping nine tailed fox and placed him on his lap.
Despite the peaceful atmosphere, he could feel a storm approaching. He had a number of issues to contend with, especially as the perpetual winter got colder, aside from having a fire mage for a wife and having to take her fire core that would kill her. As the temperature dropped, more and more fire dragons perished, becoming infuriated and determined to kill him.
Snowflake opened his eyes and inhaled his blood-stained arm. Cyrus laughed heartily as he caressed his fur to ease him off when his eyes narrowed at the unconscious Sage.
"You hate her as much as I do but she finds you adorable." Cyrus whispered to snowflake who licked the wound on his arm.
Cyrus closed his eyes in pain. "That is deep," He hissed feeling snowflake licking his wound continuously.
Snowflake leaped off Cyrus' lap and sat down in front of the fire place. The injury on Cyrus's arm covered up and he opened his eyes heaving heavily.
A bright glow engulfed him, his panthers and snowflake. When the light vanished, they were in their original state.
"Let's go," Cyrus said to his panthers, got to his feet, and led them out of the chamber.
...
It was evening when Sage opened her eyes to find herself in Cyrus' room and the nine tailed fox in front of her face.
She sat herself down while massaging her aching forehead.
She and Cyrus had a small battle. She was incensed that he possessed the ability to render someone unconscious and that it was the second time he had rendered her unconscious.
"Do you think I am a danger to him?" Sage questioned snowflake who was staring at her. "You are the one triggering his dark state right?"
Cyrus had told her that his dark state was his armor. His dark state was connected to his guardians and snowflake being the most powerful guardian was responsible for triggering his dark state anytime Cyrus was in danger.
"You have to know that I have to kill him right?" Sage asked pouting her lips.
Snowflake stared at her blankly and it was the same expression Cyrus mostly used to stare at her.
"You won't let me kill him," She groaned and sighed deeply in defeat.
Sage laid back on the bed closing her eyes. She felt like she was forgetting something or someone.
While she was thinking hard, she heard a snarl and felt a paw on her forehead. The touch triggered something, a vision to appear in her head.
Right before her nonplussed gaze, she found herself in the dark room of what she roughly guessed to be an ancient mansion due to the structure of the walls and the hardness of the ground. The sight of the empty dark room gave her an eerie feeling that didn't sit well with her senses, as though she was expecting an impending doom to strike the next minute, but regardless of the uneasy sensation coursing through her nerves, she shrugged it off and took a brave step to delve in further and that's when she noticed something. Squinting her eyes at the figure that stood on the aisle ahead, an ice sculpture of a woman who had her hands stretched out as though she was expecting an embrace stood frozen on the aisle. The sculpture spoke about it's ageless times, but failed at hiding the beauty of the sculptured woman.
Floating above her outstretched hands was a large snowflake and the other was a flare.
Sage approached the sculpture out of surprise and curiosity, but as she did, the sculpture suddenly opened its eyes.
Sage yelled in terror and opened her eyes. The nine-tailed fox who had touched her forehead to start the vision caught her attention. She was baffled and horrified by what she saw as he continued to look at her expressionlessly.
She swallowed hard and shakingly whispered, "Fire and Ice!"
