“That's a nice name," I complimented. She rolled her eyes. "That's a lie but whatever" she said walking to her next class. I look behind me to see Lilah, Bella and Alex following closely behind. "Why are you talking to me?" She asked bluntly. "One, I need a favour and two, you need a few friends," I stated.
She stopped walking.
"One, I don't need ANYONE, not now, not ever and two, what kinda of favour?"she asked staring at me attentively. "We need someone to teach Alex how to control his Ju-Ju," I said, pointing at Alex, who waved at her shyly. "Ju-Ju?" She asked, in an amused tone, her brows lifted slightly. "Mmm hmm," I nodded. "Sure. If you can answer a question," she shrugged.
"What?" I asked. "What the hell are you? I have read about ever creature that has been written in books but I can't figure out what you are." She questioned, tilting her head to the side. I smiled widely and said "The abominable snowman." I laughed villainously after saying it. She shakes her head trying to hide the smile on her face.
"Funny but seriously what are you" she failed to stifle her laughter. "I honestly don't know, until yesterday I had no clue that your species existed," I answered. "Interesting, you give off an extremely powerful aura and I look forward to finding out what you are," she said, continuing walking to her next lesson.
"Welcome to the family, or something like that," Lilah said. "Thanks, I guess," Antares said, looking at us strangely.
We walked to History and Antares went to Science, we can change her timetable later, if she'd like. Teachers are going to get so annoyed because of these changes. The History classroom looks more like a cinema than the average classroom. "Wanna sit in the back row?" I asked. "Uh, duh," Lilah said, strutting the through the rows. We went to the back row and sat down.
"Well that went better than expected," Bella comments. The others and I hum in agreement. When people started coming in Alex gasped, sinking into his seat. "What is it?" I asked looking at his shaking figure. "They're here," he whispers, sinking into his seat further. "They can't do anything to you. Not anymore," I reassured him.
James, Brandon and Chad are laughing about something which is probably a dumb joke that's insulting someone. Their eyes fell on Alexander and they stopped laughing, they just stared at him with pure rage. Then their eyes shifted to me and fear settles on their faces.
"Something to say to him?" I asked, folding my arms and leaning forwards on the desk, staring at them with more rage, than what they gave him and pure disgust. "N-no," James stuttered, shaking his head. "Then stop staring at him and go sit down dickheads or would you like me to sit you down?" I ask not bothering to hide the irritation in my voice.
Shaking their heads they rushed to sit in their seats that are in the front, furthest away from us.
I smirk at the fear radiating off of them. That's what people who hurt my family deserve and worse. "You are terrifying when you want to be," Bella comments, wide eyed. "No, I'm just protective of those who mean something to me," I explained, smiling at Alex who gives me a brief smile before looking down at the desk. "Good to know I'm on the right side then," she mumbled, softly laughing after.
Our History teacher comes in and says, "Good morning students." We all mumbled a small, "Good morning," in return. "Today we have two new pupils joining us," he announced and a second after he said that two people walked in. From the looks of it they're twin brothers. One has blue eyes and the other twin has pitch black eyes. "I'm Austin," the one with blue eyes introduced. "And I'm Justin" the one with black eyes said.
Justin has long, wavy curled hair that is put up in a man bun. Hot. He has on a black track suit which is the exact opposite of his brother who is wearing a white track suit. Austin has blonde straight hair that is short and just as good looking. Their other features look exactly the same, the only thing different about them is their hair and eye colours. The same narrow nose, freckled face and perfect shaped lips. They both look too good to be on earth.
Literally, it’s lie they glow with heavenly light or something.
"These are the Ace twins," Mr Dime said. Most people started waving at them to come over but I want to let them choose. Their eyes scan around the room in perfect sync. They look this way and tilt their head to the right. They looked to each other and then nodded. I can't decide if it's cool or creepy that they move at the same time. I'm going to stick with cool for now.
They walk up to the row right in front of us and sit down. "Hi." Austin says with a polite wave. "Hello." I returned the same amount of politeness. "And who are you guys?" Justin asked raising an eyebrow. "That's Alex, Bella, Lilah but don't call her that until she gives you permission, she won't answer. Her full name is Delilah and I'm Nathaniel but call me Nate," I pointed out. "Nice to meet you," they said in sync with each other.
Lilah doesn't waste time asking, "What are you?" I shake my head at her and sighed "Didn't waste much time now did you." "What? I'm quite curious," she shrugged. "It's fine. I'm half angel, half human," Austin explained. "And I'm half human, half daemon," Justin followed.
"Is that all?" I asked, knowing that there's more than that. "We fuse together to make an angel daemon hybrid. But we're not hybrids unless we fuse, so don't confused us with hybrids," They say in a serious voice at the end. Ok, it's a little creepy now. After they say that I stopped blinking. "Ok, that's just, wow," Bella said. "I can tell what the rest of you are but not you" Justin said analysing me. "We'll tell you when we find out," Lilah snickers. "Fascinating," Austin whispers.
"Ok, so where are you guys from?" Lilah asked. "Celestial Academy, basically a school for angels and daemons" Austin says. "So why did you move here?" Bella asked with a disgusted voice at the end, scrunching up her nose. "I don't know, we were drawn here. It's like a pull that you can't fight and have no choice but to follow," Justin answers in an unsure.
They all turn a look at me simultaneously.
"Why are you looking at me?" I asked, feeling attacked all of a sudden. "Well due to our lack of knowledge of what you are, we also don't know what you are capable of doing either," Lilah stated. "Oh. Ok, so you think I'm attracting supernatural creatures to me?" I questioned and they nodded.
"I'm not sure because how come it's happening now and not before," I asked. "It did happen you just weren't aware of it and now you know more about Supernaturals so it could be like a trigger for you," Alex spoke for the first time in minutes. "I'm not going to be calling every supernatural creature to me, am I?" My brows furrow in confusion.
"We don't know but what we do know is that only people you keep around, by doing the 'eye thing' have gained your trust and respect and the only people you trust are right here, including Antares even she's not here, exactly," Bella thinks out loud. "What 'eye thing' do you mean?" Austin asks with an intrigued look on face.
"It's this thing that he does by looking into your eyes and judge your personality. He can figure you out to the 'T', " Lilah said tapping her nails on the desk. "Did you do it to all of them?" Justin questions. I hum and nod my head as a response. "Did you do that to us?" Justin asks. "No, I thought you would have sat with the jocks or something," I shrugged.
"Ohh" They said. "Why would we socialise with brain dead athletes, who disregard hygiene?" Justin asks his brother who chuckled at him. "Can you do it?" Austin asked. I nodded my head and take turns staring into their eyes. They are loyal, dangerous and truthful. "Loyalty, honesty and dangerous" I listed. Their eyes widened and shocked from what I just said flashed across their faces.
"Brother, did you see that?"Austin shakes Justin's arm. Justin slapped him behind his head and says "Of course I saw it, I'm sitting NEXT to you. I begged mom to tell me that you're adopted, sadly you are not." Justin groaned shaking his head."We are twins, if I'm adopted that means you are too Einstein," Austin fired back.
"Well isn't this fun?" Bella laughed. "I like them," Lilah giggled. Alex didn't say anything he just smiled. "I'm guessing he's the quiet one," Justin said nodding at Alex who looked away in embarrassment. "Yes and no," I answered, I nudge Alex's shoulder with mine. "Are you done with your conversation, back row?" Mr Dime asks us. "Well we are now." Lilah sassed, crossing her arms. "Thank you, now pay attention" he said pointing to something on the board afterwards.
"Well, what do you guys do around here for fun?" Justin ignores the teacher. "We go to Nate's place," Bella says, pretending to pay attention. "Why?" Austin asked. "His mansion is huge!" Lilah whisper yelled. "Ohh, what do your parents do for a living?" Justin questions.
"My father is a ghost and I don't know what my mother does" I shrugged. The twins nod in understanding. "OH MY GOODNESS, how much longer is this lesson?" Delilah groans, throwing her head back with her hands on her face. Everyone started laughing at Lilah's blunt question. "I'm not exactly keeping you here, now am I Ms Silver?" Me Dime asks, is back still turned to the us. "So I can leave?" she asked, a smile on her face. "Of course not," he deadpanned after hyping her up.
Lilah sighed, laying her head on the desk. "Just great" she mumbled. "Are you doing anything after school?" Austin asks. "I'm going to get Alex a phone and then go home after that." I said. "Have room for two more?" Justin asks. I responded with a question "Do you have a car?" They nod. "Then sure," I told them "Thanks" they both say.
The bell rings for break.
"Finally" Lilah squeals jumping out of her seat. "Hungry?" I asked. "DUH when am I not hungry?" She said flipping her hair over her shoulder. We leave the classroom and walk towards the cafeteria. "Wait up!" Someone behind us yelled. We stopped walking and turned around to see Antares coming towards us. "Oh, look brother it's a hybrid," Austin smirked. "What does it want?" Justin asks in a disgusted voice.
" 'It' is call Antares" I defend furrowing my brows at their sudden change in behaviour. "And she is the one who is going to be teaching Alex control. So, you are going to be seeing her a lot more, therefore, I suggest you drop the the attitude," I demand narrowing me eyes at them. "Damn, it's just a hybrid," Justin says, sizing her up. "And you're just a daemon with no manners and if you keep this up no friends," I scold. He stopped talking. "Apologise, now," I said. Their eyes widened. "You can't be serious?" They asked . "He is very serious, he made me apologise Bella for being mean yesterday," Lilah said, devouring a cupcake.
I stare at them intensely and watch them squirm under my gaze. "We're sorry," they blurted out, shuddering at the words leaving their mouths. "Was that so damn difficult?" I asked. "Indeed it was," Justin mumbled. I rolled my eyes at his change in behaviour.
"I couldn't care less about them or how they feel about me. If you don't like me, fuck off. It's not rocket science. Anyway am I teaching him his place?" Antares asked like she didn't just tell them to fuck off. I see that the twins are trying hard not to clap back at her. "At our place. He's living with me," I said, putting a potato chip in my mouth.
"Why, are you related?" Antares asked. "No, but he's living with me anyway," I shrug, shoving a handful of chips in my mouth. "Can anyone just come live with you?" Austin asked. "Not anyone but you lot could," I shrugged. "I can LIVE with you?" Lilah gasps. "Yep." I crunched on another chip. "You didn't mention that, that was an option!" Bella says gaping. "Well if you asked you would have known," I said smiling.
“Aren’t scared that one of us kill you in your sleep?” Lilah smirks, probably plotting my demise in her devious mind.
I shake my head, “Not really. If you did kill me, then you would have no wealthy friend. You will have to get a job like every other person on this planet and have to worry about bills instead of living with someone who has an infinite source of money.” A smile pulls at the corners of my lips.
She frowns, “On second thought, no.” Her body shudders in discomfort and I roll my eyes.
"Does your mother approve of this?" Austin asks. "Technically, it's my house because my father left it to me, she's just supervising," I explained, turning the bag upwards at eating the leftover crumbs. The twins sit there shocked. "WHO ARE YOU?!" they asked. "That's what we asked," Alex snickers.
"Antares. Do you have a car or do you need a ride?" I asked. "Yes I have a car, why?" She asked, eating a hash brown. "We're going out before we go back to my place" I stated. "'M'kay," she nodded.
"Alex do you want anything else?" I asked. "I don't think so," he says shaking his head. "Well if you find anything you like, tell me," I said before taking a drink of lemonade. "You don't need to, I'm fine," Alex said, shaking his hands at me, in the way you would when telling someone no. "If you don't choose, I will buy everything you look at, try me," I warned, raising a challenging brow. "No, no, I'll choose," he blushed. "Thank you," he whispered. "Of course," I smiled.
"Are you two together?" Justin asked. "No, we're not!" Alex says, blushing even worse, hiding behind his hands. "Look, you embarrassed him," I glared at Justin. "Aww you two should go out," Lilah joined in. "Am I having Deja-vu or did we already have this conversation already?" I asked rhetorically, tapping my chin. "But the vibes you two have can be very deceiving." Austin says. "Do I need to tattoo it on my forehead or something?" I asked. They laughed. Alex look really happy for the first time today.
It might not be the worst day after all.
”Nate, Bella hit me!” Lilah points at her. Bella’s eyes widen, her head snapping towards Lilah.
”I did not!”
Maybe I jinxed it.
