Feng Bao sighed sadly after dropping the call with her daughter.

He can't believe that it had taken him this long to see the damage he had done to his bond with his daughter and how much he had hurt his treasure.

"Make sure that you investigate everything thoroughly. I want no stone unturned and even the most minuscule secrets remain hidden. I need to know what had been going on in my own house" He coldly ordered, eyes flashing with danger and anger.

A silhouette nodded indicating that he had received his orders.

Feng Bao tried to walk to his car with as much composure as he can. His proud and domineering posture did not let out the sadness and guilt that was eating him in the inside.

As he opened his car, a small picture of three people caught his attention. The photo shows the image of a little girl smiling brightly with a toothy grin. Holding the girl on his shoulder was a vigorous man with his hand wrapped around the waist of a beautiful woman.

His daughter was right. He knows deep down that he was the one who had wrecked their perfect little family. And now, his daughter is the one paying for those grievous drunken mistakes.

Feng Shi did misunderstand him in not caring though. He just didn't know how to do it.

Feng Bao had stayed with her silently in the hospital until he was sure that she was already alright. However, business could not be delayed any longer and so, he had no choice but to leave her be in the care of the professional who he knows would take good care of her.

He did make sure that they won't just let her leave knowing how stubborn she that be and that he be informed once she had regained consciousness.

Despite his hard work, he could hardly focus. Feng Shi's claim ringing in his ears endlessly.

He knows his current wife well but Feng Shi had been innocent through it all. He thought that even if she doesn't treat her like his own daughter, she would at the very least simply ignore her. But he had clearly underestimated the darkness in the greedy woman's heart.

Feng Bao let out a heavy sigh as he slumped in defeat. For the first time in his life, he doesn't know what to do. He felt helpless against the daughter that he had wronged greatly, the very fruit of their love.

On the other hand, Feng Shi stayed impatiently in her room reading a beginner's guide to programming.

Remembering things and actually understanding the concept is not as easy as she initially thought it was when it came to how programming worked. As such she could only focus hard on learning things.

Xiao Wang silently stayed in the window sill watching down the glassy window as to not disturb her.

However, this serene moment was broken when five rascals barged in without even knoching.

"Feng Shi!!!" Cao Ai cried out jumping on her.

"Little Shi, we brought all of your comfort items." Chia Biu added carrying a fluffy blanket, a cuddly giant teddy bear and the host's favorite flute. Things that Feng Shi could actually do without.

"We also brought you some snacks" Cheng Xiu added with a grin showing her sweet desserts and all of her favorite snacks.

" How are you doing now?" Cheng Xiu asked checking her temperature. His palm was warm and soft against her skin making Feng Shi lean on it.

"I'm doing fine now. Seriously, it's not like I'm confined here. I just need to be checked out then I'm good to go. Thanks for the food though" Feng Shi replied smiling at these group of rascals.

The host may have found them rowdy and always very prone to causing trouble but, she truly did enjoy their company.

This are of course her friends. Cheng Xiu, Cao Ai, Chia Biu, Huang Jun and Sima Lin. Chia Biu is actually dating Sima Lin, their relationship still fresh and Cao Ai have been with Huang Jun since second year in high school. It was also because of Cao Ai and Huang Jun that the two groups of friends merged and became a group.

Without them even knowing, it was actually this five friends of her that encourages her to step out from the shadows of her childhood and seek professional help in her traumas.

It wasn't an easy journey for the previous host. At first, she denied that there was something wrong with her and just went to try things out but the more sessions she went to, the more she understood just how deep her scars were.

She was snapped out of her thought when Cheng Xiu pressed an apple slice on her lips.

It was perfectly peeled and just the right bite sized but she could not help the smile on her lips as she chewed it.

The host has never cared wether her Apple was peeled or not but Feng Shi, the current host, does.

This was something that Qin Si had always done for her and for a moment, her eyes softened. Perhaps, she might not have completely lost her Qin Si after all. He just took in another identity just like her. But the soul inside is still the man she learned to love and maybe, maybe she can continue this new side of him and create new memories once again.

"Is it just me or am I seeing ants flying in the air?" Cao Ai teased cutting off the moment which earned her a jab on the shoulder by Chia Biu.

"Hush, you ruined the moment!" Chia Biu hissed at her friend. "Don't mind us. Just pretend that we're not here" She continued, eyes gleaming with mischief making Feng Shi roll her eyes while Cheng Xiu just chuckled.

"Isn't supposed to be hearts not ants?" Huang Jun asked confused.

"No because their love story bites! It's already been four years!" Chia Biu answered in exasperation.

"Well some love to need time to fester" Sima Lin commented stroking his nonexistent beard with a sagely expression like some love expert.

Chia Biu rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. "Of course you would know that considering how many 'seeds' you've planted" She stated with a harrumphed.

Sima Lin's expression immediately turned into a hen pecked husband hugging his wife. " Baby Biu, don't be like that. You know your the only one for me"

Chia Biu's lips twitched at the ridiculous nickname but she still pretended to be angry while the others watched amuse.

This is the usual routine for the two when Chia Biu wants to tease Sima Lin.

Although his reputation is that of a playboy, the five of them knows that Sima Lin is just a natural flirt but have never been with anyone before Chia Biu.

"Baby Biu, muah! You know that I love you the most." Sima Lin claimed before tickling Chia Biu's side causing her to giggle. "Ah! There's the beautiful smile " Sima Lin grinned before kissing Chia Biu.

"Ew, get a room you two!" Cao Ai complained throwing a pillow at them.

"Aw, don't be jealous Ai-chan. You also have me to shower you with love" Huang Jun said as he went to hug his own girlfriend.

Before they could mess around more the door finally opened which snapped their attention into its direction.

"Mr. Feng, Good morning" They all greeted aside from Feng Shi who only glanced at him.

Feng Bao nodded at the others in return, secretly glad that at the very least, his own daughter was not completely alone.

"Have you talked to your doctor?" He asked immediately, his tone lacking in interest contrary to how he felt.

"It was just a terrible headache and stress. I am allowed to go home now" She also simply replied.

The conversation between the two was just like the interactions of two strangers completely lacking in affection like one would have towards their own fathers and daughters.

The others simply did not comment in the estrangements between the father-daughter Dou as they are well aware how their circles commonly lacks family affections only interest and profit.

Feng Bao gave him a once over before nodding.

He wanted to actually talk to his daughter to try and mend things but remembering the advice of her doctor before he actually came here, he could only hold his tongue back as to not stimulate her and stress her farther.

"Good, then you can pack your belongings. I'll go check you out and will wait for you in the car" Was what he just said before turning back.

"No need I can go back on my own" Feng Shi refuted immediately.

"Have you forgotten that Lan is currently out? I don't have anything urgent anyway" Feng Bao replied and before Feng Shi could argue farther, he was already gone.

As she was thinking of simply asking Cheng Xiu for a ride, Xiao Wang immediately reminded her of her mission.

"Master, one of your task is to reconcile with the host's father. Please do not forget that"

Feng Shi froze for a moment before letting out a 'tsk'. She had not forgotten but she just didn't know how to go along with it.

"Thanks for worrying but I guess I'll see you guys at school then?" Feng Shi asked them and they all replied positively pretending like that awkward interaction did not occur at all.

Cao Ai grinned before shoving the get well basket to Cheng Xiu. "Shi-chan since your still recovering, it is not advisable for you to carry heavy things. Cheng Xiu can carry them for you"

She raised her brow before smiling mildly. "No need they aren't heavy at all" she replied as she reached out to take those thing from Cheng Xiu only for him to step back.

"I do not mind helping you carry this things over" Cheng Xiu informed her picking up the things they brought for her.

"Yeah, just let him be Feng Shi. Those are really heavy! They weight like really heavy rock" Huang Jun supported his girlfriend uttering some bullshit lies without even batting an eye making Feng Shi feel embarrass for him but just let it be.

"Then thank you, Xiu." Feng Shi nodded before hugging the girls goodbye and starting to walk towards the elevator.

Seeing it empty, the girls shared a look and grinned.

"You know what, it has been a while since we exercises Biu. I am feeling like walking down the stairs" Cal Ai contemplated only to be echoed by Chia Biu.

"Yeah, I can feel my figure starting to fade! Exercise would be good" Chia Biu grinned.

"I can join you guys then" Feng Shi volunteers knowing full well what this two are up to.

"No!" They both immediately disagreed.

"Why?" Feng Shi asked controlling her facial expression not to show her amusement.

"You just got hospitalized. It's not good to be too active any way bye!" Sima Lin reasoned gently pushing her into the elevator and pushing the bottom for them.

Just as the door closed, Sima Lin winked at Cheng Xiu. Don't get them wrong, if it was someone else they would never do this but with Cheng Xiu, they knew that he loves and respect Feng Shi far too much to take advantage of her.
