"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the lord".

- Jeremiah 30 : 17.

Kingsley Condo.

3 : 54pm.

The household is empty now. Robin, sorry, And and his wife went for grocery shopping. The rest of Chioma's team left for their homes.

"Mrs Kingsley, you are going to be okay", A woman talked in a calm tone to Chioma.

"So, I'm not sick, doc?", She asked the woman.

"No. Both you and the baby are perfectly healthy", the doctor smiles at her.

"Okay", Chioma smiles gently.

"Remember to eat healthy. No alcohol. Lessen sugar consumption. You are now prone to any type of disease", the doctor stands up, "I'll take my leave, ma'am. If you need anything just call me".

"Sure thing", Chioma smiled as the doctor leaves the house.

She looks around and exhales, "I'm pretty hungry, right now?", "She touches her tommy, you want some pizza, don't you?".

Taking out her phone, she orders some pizza.

"Turn on the TV, Linda", She tells the household app manager.

Linda announces, "Turning on television".

"Channel 95, please", She makes some popcorn.

"Channel 95", Linda repeats the command and the channel shows up on the TV.

The door bell rings.

"That was fast", She goes to the door. It is Anod and his wife, "Are you aware that its weird every time you do that".

Anod smiles, "Its not weird. Aaron's used to it. Why can't you?".

She steps aside for them to enter and closes the door.

"Cool", Chioma went to help them.

"Oh no. We'll handle this. Its our job, right?", Rachel smiles at Anod.

Chioma squints her eyes, "Why do I have a feeling that you're hiding something from me?".

Anod scoffs, "We're always going something from you".

Chioma rolled her eyes and looked at the TV. There was a news from KBC.

A reporter stands in front of an apartment building, "27 Mushkan Ammel is reported dead in his apartment in what seems to be suicide judging from his hand-written note. The victim was said to be an artist working for the WPD according to his neighbours. Rumour has it that he had a hand in the witness whose name remains unknown at the station".

Chioma clenched her fist, "Turn off the TV, Linda. Now".

The TV's screen went blank. She brought out her phone and dialled Russell's number.

"Look, Chichi. You can't do anything", Rachel tells her but she takes the call upstairs.

"Have you seen the news, Ross?", She asked.

"Yea. Its none of my business. The case is HPD's remember?", Ross spoke groggily as though he had awoken from sleep.

Chioma paced back and forth, "Mason Security is a private contractor. What do they have with First Disciple? They have her in their custody".

"Listen, you should let it all go. Take a vacation with your husband. Get drunk. Gt high. Have fun. This case is out of my reach. I guess old Ronald was right. Maybe I was out of my head taking this case", He disconnected the call.

"Fuck", She curses. He was still grieving Diana. They were too but First Disciple is still pulling strings from where she is. If not, then who killed Ammel? She didn't buy that suicide bullshit.

She dials Wysa's number, "Hey".

"Hey, you. I saw the news", Wysa replied, "Did Ross say anything?".

"Not anything important", She took a seat on the large bed, "I'm just tired".

Wysa coughs, "Don't stress yourself, Darling. You have done enough".

"You okay?", asked Chioma.

"Nope. Under the weather. It looks like the heaven's gonna take a piss today", Wysa replied.

Chioma laughs, "What a corny analogy".

"Chichi, you have Miriam on the phone. Its urgent", Anod calls from downstairs.

"Oh, crud", She hissed.

It was Wysa's turn to laugh, "Lemme guess, your mother in law".

"Yep. Talk to ya, later", She drops the phone and goes downstairs.

Anod whispers, "I think she wants something".

Chioma takes the phone, "She always want something". She plunge the phone to her ear, "Hey, mom".

Miriam laughs, "Darling, I was staying at Jimmy's a while ago".

Chioma fakes a smile, "Really? I'm sure you were a handful, weren't you?".

"Indeed, I was", Miriam laughs again, "You busy?".

Chioma looks at the foodstuffs on the kitchen table, "Yeah. Very busy".

"Come on, we both know you're not. I know you must be upset right now from all the police work but keep your anger at bay and come pick me up".

"Pick you up, now?", Chioma asked.

"Yes. I'm coming home now. I've taken a vacation at Jimmy's in the US. Now, its Aaron's turn in Avannon", Her mother in law smiles.
