FOURTEEN: MISUNDERSTANDING

[Shaira’s POINT OF VIEW]

Jhotam woke me up by planting small kisses on my cheeks. It made me think he must be in a good mood today compared to the other day. I wanted to play along with his sweet little gesture. However, I am still sleepy, so I just responded, "Hmmm..."

"Let's take a bath," says Jhotam as he gently pokes my cheeks.

"Later, I'm still sleepy. Give me five more minutes," I replied as I turned my back on Jhotam. I thought he'll let me sleep. I was surprised when he started kissing my nape. I could feel his warm breath, and it tickled me.

"Come on, let me sleep for a while," I lazily hugged the bolster next to me.

I met his eye as I swiftly turned around and removed the blanket that covered my toe up to my waist. Then, I said, "Why don't you take a bath first? Aren't you going to the office now?"

"I want to spend my shower time with you," he replied.

"Are you a teenager? What's with that attitude of yours?" I replied, followed by a burst of laughter. What the hell is he thinking? Shower time with me? Does it even matter at this age? I gave him a peck of a kiss. "Get up and leave me alone."

The glimpse of my husband's upside-down lips as he turned his back on me had me realize that it was the moment I knew he was sulking. To lift his mood, I hugged him behind.

He faced me once again. Now, he's giving me a naughty smile. I'd taken aback when he caressed my hair and pulled me closer to him. He kissed me torridly.

My husband slid his tongue inside my mouth.

His kisses almost savor my whole being.

He then placed his body on top of me.

He caressed my back, trying to undo my brassiere. We're almost into that thing. However, we heard a knock on our door. I pushed him aside and fixed my messy dress.

I saw him messing with his hair as I jumped off the bed to head in our wooden-designed door. I bet he wants to do that 'thing'.

When I opened the door, a young boy smiled at me and said, "Mom?"

"Yes? baby?" I asked Tamra and kissed his temple.

"Aren't we going to dad's office?"

Jhotam interrupted by saying, "Hear... Hear!"

I glared at my husband. Now he's teaming up with my son. Tamra walked inside our master's bedroom. He jumped into our bed and gave his dad a quick good morning kiss.

"Dad, you smell awful. The same goes for mom. Why don't you shower first?"

"You hear that, honey? Now shall we?" Jhotam uttered, trying to convince me once more.

"You go on ahead. I'll take Tamra to the bath first."

"Fine," he replied.

A sideways smile slips through my mouth as I witness him pouting his lips. I held my son's wrist and uttered, "Let's go, Tamra."

After all the preparation, we headed to C&I company, my husband's family heirloom company.

"Good morning. Ma'am and Sir."

The staff greeted us, so I smiled back at them to reciprocate greetings.

"Good morning!" My son cheerfully responded.

I finally found a comfortable space; it was my husband's office. My eyes roamed around. Then, I asked, "Where's your secretary, Hon?"

I haven't seen Aeriad since we set foot here.

"I bet she's late again," Jhotam replied.

"Are you going to fire her?" I asked. I'm not being rude here; it's about the ethical grounds of a responsible employee.

"I can't do that right now. I have a lot of things to fix in this company. It would be a waste of time to change my secretary. Besides, she's doing great. It's just that she often comes here late."

'Doing great? What do you mean by that?'

I arched my left eyebrow as I thought of... 'Is he defending her? or am I just jealous of Aeriad?'
