FORTY SIX: LOST

[SHAIRA's POINT OF VIEW]

W-wait! My baby!?

I couldn't help but panic, and several worst-case scenarios had been running through my mind, and it was driving me nuts.. just the thought of losing my child had me going crazy.

What happened to my angel?!

My hand immediately looked for a sign of living inside my womb. Then, a breath of relief tapped my shoulder as I realized that one's life was still there.

Shortly after, a guy wearing a white laboratory coat, and a stethoscope hanging on his neck entered the room. He smiled and informed us, "The baby is fine as of now. However, the child's pulse and heart rate are quite weaker than normal, so please be careful always."

"Thank you, doc."

"Alright, pls press the button if you need anything else. I need to attend to my other patients," says the doctor.

The door closed and Jhotam was about to speak when the ward welcomed a huge fuss from my son, who came straight to the hospital after his academic responsibility.
