FORTY EIGHT: FAKE IT TILL’ I MAKE IT

It was silent and cold inside our Royce, when all of a sudden, our little guy broke the silence.

"Are you coming with us, Dad?" Tamra asked, trying to catch his father's gaze through the rear mirror.

I saw the lump on my husband's neck move up and down. Then, he slightly tilted his head to look in my direction, to meet my gaze, but I looked away. If only my parents were not here, I wouldn't have been in this car with my husband.

"I-I am not sure, baby. Daddy is busy with our business. I will try to end the meeting as soon as possible so I can come afterward," Jhotam replied.

"Be sure to spend time with your son, Hijo. Tamra is not getting any younger. There will be a time that you may not have quality time with him," my mom uttered.
