FIFTY SEVEN: WEIRD GUY

[SHAIRA's POINT OF VIEW]

I don't know how Ezekiel found our home. When I opened the door, he was already standing outside our gate. He's wearing a plain white V-neck shirt and simple khaki cargo shorts with six pockets.

"This is for you," says Ezekiel, handing over a basket full of fruits. "This is good for you and your baby's health."

"T-Thank you. Is Allysa here?" he added.

I was kind of relieved when he started looking for my son's nanny. It seems like he is interested in the lady.

"She took my son to the academy. If you're willing to wait for her, I can send her a message to go home as soon as possible. Honestly, I asked her to buy me fruit and milk. Since you gave me the basket of fruits, I will no longer ask her to drop by the market," I replied.

"Do you want juice or something?" I asked though I knew it would be difficult for me to move too much.

"Don't bother. I know it would be hard for you to move around."
